Apparently a purchase is a legally binding contract

The only reason I am not giving them a 1 is because the lady at the showroom, Zoe, was extremely helpful, polite and a great example of how a front facing salesperson should be. From that aspect, no complaints!

However, this is where the good review stops.

We ordered 2 bedside tables on 7/6/26. We were told 2-3 weeks for delivery into the store and we would collect. A phone call on 29/6/26 yielded the old and faithful, should be in stock next week, give us a call back then. So, cue the call 6/7/26, same response, should be in next week but this time it was followed with "then available for collection the week after". So, called again this week and was told that delivery into their warehouse was expected, you guessed it, w/c 20/7/26, then sent to Livingston on w/c 27/7/26 and available for collection that week. 2 months for a couple of bedside tables, however no actual firm delivery date has ever been agreed or advised. Just the hidden behind "should be next week".

Given its a couple of bedside tables and we are putting them in the wardrobe for extra storage anyway, we decided to cancel the order only to be told that they dont have a cancellation policy and that I would lose all the monies paid so far. I brought up the consumer right act whereby if goods arent received within 30 days, unless a later date was agreed, which it wasnt, then you have a right to cancel and request a full refund. Then I was hit with the purchase was a "legally binding contract" and no refund would be given. Now, being of sound mind and suffering no fools, lets break this down. Legally binding contract, so the purchase was signed by ourselves, signed by designer rooms and verified by a witness? Errrr no. Were these t&c's made available to us prior to agreeing to purchase the furniture? Errrr no. So what part of the purchase makes it a legally binding contract?

I asked them to confirm they are flouting consumer right law by not letting me cancel for a full refund and they replied "we cannot help you with this matter".

The great thing is I have the emails, I have the whatsapp's screengrabbed so the evidence is there for when the section 75 claim is worked on by RBS.

So, in summary, if you are waiting more than 30 days and you want to cancel, you have a right to, but they wont process a refund.
