You are set up with a low cost annual subscription over PayPal, then they take the annual sum twice per year, a few months apart. A run-of-the-mill small scale fraud where they hope that if/when the duplicate payments are noticed, that the victim cancels their subscription and writes off the defrauded amounts. When refunds are requested, they are refused, even when presented with evidence of the duplicate payments.
