First and foremost, I love their customer service an it alone is enough to keep me as a customer. The TextMagic program is second to none with regards to features, flexibility, and intuitiveness in its design. It revolutionized how we communicate with our students and others. I checked out several options and went with TextMagic a few years ago. I have never regretted it once. Awesome product and awesome customer service.

TextMagic is a simple tool for maintaining communication with clients or customers. Whether you are updating status on a project, or providing a ship date, you can respond from your office, a job site, or while boarding a flight.

Great app in terms of reliability. Features added regularly. Can only get better.
Be aware! At the end of September, I started using their service. I paid £10 for a number and sent promotional texts to my list of 99 recipients. I was charged £0.04 x 99, approximately £3. A week later, I tried to send another promotional text. This time, they charged me £0.12 per text. So for 90 texts, I was billed £13. Even though I had £20 in my account, I was automatically charged an additional £24. Apparently, they use an auto top-up feature that I never agreed to. Within minutes, the money disappeared from my TextMagic account, leaving only a few pounds. I approached PayPal, only to find out that I had been charged £24 the day after I opened and added money to my TextMagic account. In short, they are stealing money. It seems they have trouble controlling their greed when they see what they can do with your money on their platform. It doesn't matter what their response is—be aware that you will be robbed. Imagine if you had used your debit card; how long would it take to get your money back? Thankfully, PayPal is efficient at dealing with such issues. TextMagic has a clever model for stealing, but everyone should know about this. I'll need to find a new provider and will definitely read reviews beforehand. I want to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to Trustpilot for creating a platform where we can gather information.

The author's early works are less philosophical and more experimental.
Used to be a great pay as you go service but just had another £24 taken from my account when I haven’t even used the service so deleted my account and do not recommend

Looks like textmagic needs some actual attorneys on staff to understand the difference between law, policy and guidelines.
Service has been great until now.
Tried to expand our services (which means more money for them )with them and now they are trying to tell me that in order for my employees to receive a one time passcode to complete their login process for company resources they have to explicitly opt in and it’s not acceptable to be in the employee handbook. Not only is this not true by any laws or regulations, it just goes to show how much text magic doesn’t want business. Which is only perpetuated by their responses to reviews here.

Oh, where do I even begin? First of all, it is impossible for you to get any actual support if you have an issue. They charge us for SMSs that are not delivered to our customers, and after spending hours with AT&T on the phone, they confirmed that they did not get any SMS from TextMagic, but TextMagic does not know the reason why this is happening! It has been weeks now and still no resolution!
On top of that, their customer service is abysmal. If you have an issue with their platform, good luck getting any kind of timely response or resolution. And let's not forget about their pricing. TextMagic charges exorbitant rates for such a lackluster service. It's no wonder they're losing business left and right.

Appalling.
Have to buy credit first. Check.
Go to activate number - goes straight to appaling/sloppy error message "email this generic support link" <- which you cant click on copy and which dissappears after 3 microseconds.
Just dipping my toe in this buy sms market - clearly a cesspool led by companies like this. AVOID.

Shame on you for jacking your prices from $4US per number to $10US per number, per month. That along with the new high rate of $0.004US cents to send a message and $0.02US cents to receive a message is a price gouge. We could not imagine doing this kind of an increase to our customers, what you have done is ridiculous and unjustifiable. There is no way your cost of acquisition or monthly cost per number can justify that type of increase. We have been happy with your services up until this point, but we cannot fathom simply allowing you to scam us like this. Unfortunately, you have lost a customer. We have found a new provider, which is half the price you are. I hope your management or owner understands that you have lost what looks like several customers because of your price gouging. Your government should be looking into unfair business practices for your ridiculous, unimaginable, and ignorant increase. Hope it was worth it! We have also read your replies here, that if you fail to meet our needs, you will refund our money, and it's the first increase in 8 years. Now you know, you have done it all wrong with a one time, huge increase, clearly your customers are not happy, perhaps, small increases are a better way to go. Please dont reply with a canned copy and paste message, it really speaks volume that you do not care, you gave our review zero thought, and that you failed to take notice of what your customers are telling you. Remember, without your customers, you would fail to exist, we hope you see that before it's too late! ***UPDATE*** To add to the already horrible experience, now they requested more info or my review would be removed, SHAME ON YOU, waiting 5 months to do that? I sent you my details, this is a 100% honest and accurate review of my experience with your company, stop harassing me and trying to have real customer reviews removed.

Been a loyal customer and now due to price increases they trying to take advantage of the situation.
Sender IDs are now £10 per id a month. I’m going to now find another provider. Bad business being greedy.

I am extremely disappointed with the changes that you have recently implemented on your platform. I have been a loyal customer of yours for 16 years and was content with the service provided until now.
Your decision to start charging customers £120 a year for each Sender ID, which was previously free, is unacceptable. Furthermore, I was shocked to discover that TextMagic is now charging 2p per incoming text message, something that had been free for 16 years. This feels like a blatant money-grabbing move, and it is unacceptable.
Your customer service has also been less than satisfactory. The blanket email that was sent out informing customers of these changes came across as dismissive, stating that if we didn't like it, we could close our accounts. This is not how a reputable company should treat its loyal customers.
As a result of these changes, I am in the process of closing my account with TextMagic. I have found a better alternative in ClickSend, which offers cheaper texts and does not charge for incoming texts.
Overall, I would not recommend TextMagic to anyone looking for a reliable and cost-effective texting service. Your recent changes have left a bad taste in my mouth, and I will not be returning to your platform anytime soon.
In response to your reply: "This is the first price increase we have implemented since 2015 (8 years ago)."
As we almost as many incoming SMS messages, you are increasing them by 50% and then adding £120 per year charges where there were none. That's not an increase, that's doubling your prices. You need to take a look at yourself from the customers perspective. Or should I say ex-customer.
Follow up: Seems TextMagic have tried to have my review removed, despite it being 100% accurate and coming from a customer with 16 years of loyal patronage - at least until their prices rocketed. I am now with a great company called Clicksend, who are not only cheaper than TextMagic, their support is so much faster and better. Wish I'd moved years ago.

TextMagic is the easiest SMS-sending service I've ever used
Been using Textmagic for quite a while now and have been happy with it until today. A few weeks ago I started getting popups saying "rate and review Textmagic" which I declined. I was suspicious why these popups 'begging for positive feedback' started. Low and behold today they sent out a blanket email telling customers of new price rises. Having a Sender ID was free but from next month TextMagic are starting to charge £120 a year. They state "if you don't like it, close your account" which I will now do. The reason they have been sending the 'begging pop ups' was to try and gain a lot of 5 star reviews to counteract when the 1 star reviews pile in after their greedy price increases.

Unfortunately, this company now is going to slap all its customers with hefty price hikes, and they are now also wanting to charge you for incoming messages.
Our company has used TextMagic for many years, and we use it exclusively for communicating with our in-field operatives & staff.
We have grown over the years, but we are not a large a company, and we cannot absorb the price hikes that Textmagic will now be demanding.
They are trying to claim that they will take this extra money and use it to create more value, but that seems quite a lame and poor excuse, and their proposed "new initiatives" provide no extra value for us and they are not of interest to us.
TextMagic's price hike actions reveal a very arrogant and insensitive attitude, and there is evidently something seriously wrong with their mindset.
In the light of all this, we advise you to not use TextMagic.

TextMagic has been an amazing quick and easy tool for our Family Law business. We use it mostly to collect debts, and people respond much more favourably to SMS than they do email and by phone. The platform is quick and easy to use and we rely on TextMagic for our collections. We have also been using it for some time now, and send quite a few SMS's a day and we still have not gotten past $50.00. Great value for money. I also love the template feature, we can quickly and easily send out SMS to our clients.
We were seeking a texting provider that was budget friendly, feature rich, easy to use, and able to send templates and auto reply to incoming text messages. After comparing providers based on our needs we registered with TextMagic. The prepayment option is perfect, along with the pay as you go services. The only monthly charge is the phone number from them at a cost of $4us/m. After a small learning curve we were able to register the toll free number with the authorities to allow outbound texting, set up our templates and our automation rules. These work great except when live chatting with a client, the auto replies will kick in if the client sends a keyword. We can temp disable them, but we have a lot of automations, so it’s not practical. No fault of TextMagic, just our choice of keywords. We also have their service linked to an online store so when a new order arrives and preset text is sent automatically. The delivery rate is perfect, no negative feedback or complaints of our customers not receiving messages. The only complaint, and this why 4 and not 5 stars, is that TextMagic knows the rules for sending messages, thus the need to register your toll free texting number, is their forms you can add to your website. They are not compliant with CASL, Canadas Anti Spam Legislation. Under CASL you must receive consent. There is no option on the form builder to have a checkmark, sure you can add some text, but the designer and the design is very limited and outdated. I would guess is was made in the 90’s. If they spent some time developing what their competitors have, something with custom logos, buttons, a modern look, I would give five stars.
Edit: close but not quite. I want to set up automations that send using my own number to create drip campaigns. With other software (Clicksend, Burstsms, Simpletexting) I can do this. With textmagic I need to either pay you for a virtual number,or to get around this I need to pay Zapier to create all of the actions instead.
Also, perhaps it's a good idea to train your customer service staff in conversational etiquette. It is nice to be able to reach TM by phone, not so much when your rep is rude, condescending and dismissive.
It's functional but they don't seem to care about their clients at all. No interest in adding features that others offer as standard

We were a customer of text magic for approximately 5 years. The software was pretty good. I’m not sure if something changed but in 2022 we started receiving a lot of complaints that people were not receiving text messages. We used Text Magic to move vehicles so tests needed to be sent quickly. We noticed we were still being charged for texts that weren’t sent. We sent a text to 6 people in one building. No one received the text. When I called text magic about it and had the people to say they didn’t receive a text, text magic cancelled my service. Luckily we found an even better service with SimpleTexting where we can auto respond to texts we get back and have easily billing. They are much cheaper than text magic too. If you are using this text system for marketing.. run as you have no idea if they are really sending to your prospects.
