Evaluating 30 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Consumers frequently pointed out that the tea tastes extremely weak and watery, leaving them with little to no flavor in their daily cup. Many buyers explained that the teabags now feel much lighter and contain noticeably smaller amounts of tea leaves than they used to in the past. This month Tetley tea bags are just awful. I thought I had a bad batch but then looked online. Lots of people saying the same thing. I need two bags in one cup (NOT a pot!) to get anywhere near a norm... See more

I had the great misfortune of having to endure several cups of this monstrosity of a tea. Why anyone would choose to drink let alone spend good money on it I have no idea. If all you have ever known... See more

Don't know what you've done but the Tetley original is terrible. We thought it was the milk as our cuppa tasted chalky. But via using Scottish blend we discovered it wasn't our milk nor water but Te... See more

T bags taste of their cardboard container

I have just brought 40 T bags, caffeinated. They are contained in the cardboard box but there is no other forms of being sealed, there is a plastic wrapper on the box overall but nothing separating the T bags from the cardboard. So far, every one tastes of the cardboard. HORRIBLE. I am about to try another, if this is the same I will never buy this product again and will bin the remainder as it is undrinkable.

Tetley Tea tastes like chewed up paper

Tetley Tea tastes like chewed up paper. I used to chew up pieces of paper 45 years ago at school to shoot through a biro sleeve so I remember what it tastes like and Tetley's Tea tastes the same. I will not be buying it any longer but will instead look for brands that have not sacrificed customer experience on the alter of value signalled environmentalism that amounts to nothing more than greenwash. What a shame such an iconic brand has collapsed.

I thought it is just me but after reading other reviews, it seems the quality of Tetley has gone down. Bought a big pack to save money, but two tea bags and still the taste is not good. This is experienced from past 2 months since we purchased the big pack.

Lost its flavor

Something is wrong, we just purchased 6 boxes of British Blend, tried bags from each. All taste like cardboard or sawdust. No flavor at all.

Awful T bags, what have you done Tetley

Bought large bag Tetley T bags just, always been my preferred brand but awful taste/ no taste, even using 2 bags which costs more. What has happened? Not sure I'll continue to use the 100s of bags I have left so looking to change brand which is hugely disappointing 😕

Thought I'd give tetleys a try from my normal Yorkshire tea, mainly due to cost as I spotted tetleys on offer, what a disappointment as you need 2 bags in a cup to get a cup of tea with any colour and 3 for a decent cup of tea, 1 bag just gives you hot milk, awful tea bags for the money that contain hardly any tea which is very noticeable once you squeeze out the bag, shrinkflation at its best

I absolutely agree with everyone who has written a review about the quality of Tetley tea, I’ve always bought Tetley and even take bags on holiday with me, no matter where I travel, however I won’t be buying Tetley tea anymore, the One cup is so weak and so tasteless, a waste of money. I’ve recently tried Tesco’s own brand and you get a really decent cuppa plus a lot cheaper lol. As many people have said on here, hike prices but reduce quality, they think we won’t notice….. How wrong they all are.
Anyway I’m going to have a Tesco tea cuppa now 🤣🤣

Vile tasting Tetley tea bags

I have been a Tetley tea drinker for 60+ years. Having recently bought a new box of 240, I thought the tea tasted strange. Having eliminated the water, the kettle, the dish washer, I have come to the conclusion that it’s the tea bags. I tried contacting Tetley through their home page without success so I have emailed them and have requested that the tea be analysed for contaminates. And anything that may be detrimental to my health.

Tetley tea bags for many…

I have loved the Tetley tea bags for many years , If you’re unhappy with the quality of Tetley tea bags, you can file a complaint directly with their customer service. Here's a suggested way to draft your complaint:

---

Subject: Feedback on Tetley Tea Bags - Decline in Strength and Taste

Dear Tetley Team,

I have been a loyal customer of Tetley for years, but I recently noticed a significant decline in the strength and taste of your tea bags. The flavour lacks the richness and full-bodied experience I’ve come to associate with Tetley, and I find it less satisfying than before.
I would appreciate it if you could look into this matter, as I’ve always trusted your brand for quality. Have there been any changes to the blend or production process?
Always buy 400 bags packs it might be time for a change

Tetley tea bags scam

Tetley tea bags, I have used them, lots of times over the years. Bought some last week. They were abysmal. I blamed the water at first, the had another cup and another. Do they think they won't notice that they are weak and taste like stale water. I threw them out today after using just 3 bags. Don't buy them. Tetley are now just scamming their customers. Supermarket red label are fine. Tetley deserve to go bankrupt

Not wasting another £ on Tetley.

Used to love Tetley (for 30+ years), but since repackaging - it just tastes like bitter cardboard. So I've switched to Sainsbury's red label tea, which tastes like Tetley used to.

Packaging Disaster

New plastic free packaging is a disaster hard to open, unable to re close with torn box. Most of all will not have the ability to keep air out anywhere near the same way which will allow the degradation of product much faster over time. Plastic was used in the first place for a reason. You may have destroyed your product with this change. I have already started looking at other products. Plastic has major benefits in some areas that cannot be replace until there is a sealing compound that can be used that has the same ability to keep air out to the same level that plastic can.

Well I'm not one to complain but I'm so disappointed with Tetley Robust teabags.I thought it was the water or washing up liquid.Threw first cuppa away then started again it was still horrible. I usually leave bagbin but the taste just got worse now I'm feeling queasy.Worse thing is I bought two boxes so now got to buy some more teabag but they definitely won't be Tetley

I have been a fan of tetley tea bags…

I have been a fan of tetley tea bags since ditching PG Tips years ago when they hiked the price. Since the recent change in packaging and the dramatic inflation rise I get the feeling that Tetley have done a shrinkflation in the quality of their tea. I am off to find a new plantation with more flavour and less cost, might try own label red tea from one of the s/mkt chains
