Bad experience

Bad experience, ordered something supposed to be delivered in a few days two weeks later, nothing, no email, the date changed for a way further date, so i called, they said they won't have it and cannot guarantee that it will be delivered that new date either. So i am trying to cancel my order right now and it is a painful process too.

Do Not Buy from Tenaquip

Ordered a backpack leaf blower Dec 28 2025 with delivery estimate in January. February 4 called company and told them I did not receive it and wanted to cancel order. Person on phone said it was cancelled and I would not be charged and I would receive email confirmation of cancellation. No email confirmation received. Today received note on my door that they tried to deliver it and they make only 1 attempt so I had to call to rebook. Note was from GLS Canada. I tried to call and automated answer says due to technical difficulties we cannot transfer your call. So they charged me for it, did not cancel it and now I cannot get it delivered. Avoid this company at all costs.

CONSUMER BEWARE

This company has idiots and morons for employees. I would not attempt to place another order with this sick company even if someone paid me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here is my experience:
After I placed my order i received payment confirmation. About a week later I received an email from the sales department that my visa was declined and that I was to call them with my credit card number. When I read that I immediately suspected fraud so I replied I did not want my order anymore and I wanted to cancel. Later I received reply that unless i call them with my credit card number they would escalate this to collections, REALLY ? I canceled order and they threatened me with collections. F U morons. Later I received an email again that they canceled my order and my credit card will not be charged.
Ok I thought that this was the end of this idiocy .But NO I WAS WRONG. TWO months later I got an email from the collections department of that sick company stating that they can't locate the order and that apparently I have it and that I am to pay or they will take me to CREDIT COLLECTIONS OF CANADA for further actions.
This is the biggest sick joke I have heard from this company yet.
I had to write to the sales department again seeking explanation as to what the hell is going on and why they are harassing me for an order that I never received. Finally I got a reply that they located the order in the warehouse. I don't know if this is the end of this harassment but just in case I have my lawyer working on this.

I ordered here several office chairs…

I ordered here several office chairs because mine ones in the office got broken and the staff asked me to buy new ones.
There are both chairs for like 400 dollars and more, which are more for the CEO, and those for 100 dollars which are def for the staff :) You know, chairs which you can break casually and do not regret baout spent money.

So, I ordered a couple of ones here and now thinking of upgrading mine one ;)

On black friday 2024. Put the order worth $739.51 before Tax. Realise they have 15% off on over $99+ order. Try to call them to get 15% off. they decline it.

TENAQUIP DOES IT AGAIN!!!!

I have placed an order for Arrow Staples 8 days ago.
Imagine my surprise when I called to check on its status today, only to learn it hasn’t even shipped yet! I’ve received no communication—no update about stock issues, no offer for partial shipment, nothing. It’s a bit like being ghosted, but by a company.
To add to the fun, there wasn’t a single note on the order indicating any stock issues or shipment delays. This lack of communication is particularly frustrating because, sadly, this isn’t the first time I’ve had a poor experience with Tenaquip. How many chances does a company expect a customer to give before the disappointment feels like déjà vu?
Now, let me tell you about my delightful conversation with customer service today. The representative seemed so relaxed I could almost hear the hammock swaying in the background. He casually informed me that only 42 out of the 60 boxes I ordered were available, and the stock was still trickling in. Again, no one thought to mention this to me. When I asked to speak to a manager, I was connected with Diane, who, I must say, wasn’t exactly radiating customer service excellence.
Diane explained that I “should have known” there were only 42 packages available. I must’ve missed the memo that I now work for Tenaquip and have insider knowledge of your inventory system! When I asked why the order couldn’t ship today—since it had already been eight days—she said it was “too late” (mind you, it was only 2 p.m.). I suggested that good customer service might warrant a little extra effort, but Diane didn’t seem particularly inclined to go the extra mile.
I also requested contact information for the district manager, and she declined to provide it. I’d love to know how a company plans to retain customers when we’re treated to the same poor experience time after time.

Horrible Customer Service

I placed an order several weeks ago on my personal account, when the order arrived I was short 2 items. I assumed the items were on back order so I sent them an email wondering about the status of the remaining items. I only got a standard reply stating they "would look into it". Two weeks after that I sent another email but did not receive a reply. Three weeks after receiving the package I called the customer service number only to be told the items were not on back order and was likely discontinued. When I asked for a refund the man on the phone became quite rude. When I asked if there was another number I could call direct to deal with the refund his only reply was "have a nice day" in a very condescending tone. While the line did not terminate there was no answers to further verbal communications either.

I sent the company an email requesting a refund for the items that did not ship but also requesting that my account be deleted because I will no longer be doing business with them.I also showed my manager the details on this issue and I have removed them from my companies database as well since they are no longer a trusted supplier.

Dont trust the website

Never followed up with there order. I called there Customer service, says we dont why your order is not completed. Then said they have to cancel the order, But yet still have a charge posted on my credit card for the last 7 days. There customer service said to try again if you want..but cant sort out the order already placed? Seems shady!

Very disappointed!

Very disappointed. I'd give zero stars if I could.

On their website they CLEARLY state that shipping is included on orders over $99, however, after I had placed my order (over $1700) they informed me that my shipping costs would be over $200. (And the ship to address qualified for free shipping.)

I do not recommend doing business with a company that will not stand behind their stated promises.

I made the purchase from a competitor.

Great Canadian Company

One of the best Canadian companies I have dealt with, in over 25 years in business. Tenaquip somewhat remind me of a great American company called Stimpson, in that they both provide excellent customer service, that is more typical of much smaller companies.

Item ordered

Item ordered. Two days later no response. Emailed them. No response. Called the to find out item not in stock. If you are too lazy or incompetent to respond to an email you deserve a bad rating. Maybe email people to tell them their item is not in stock or how long it will take. Ignoring people is rude and you'll never get a penny from me in the future

My order status showed “shipped to…

My order status showed “shipped to warehouse” the day following my order placement. I tried emailing but never received a response. I called to get the status and was told my item would be shipped out but the status is still in the warehouse. This item is in stock according to the person I spoke to.
I am trying to find a reason to recommend this company to friends but the shipping delays are really making this difficult.
Currently going on 8 days with no shipping status updates. If this item is sitting in the warehouse why can it not be shipped?

First time buying from Tenaquip…

First time buying from Tenaquip and some reviews on them were rather unnerving. But I'm thrilled to say it was a positive experience for me. Took 3 days to receive my purchase, items were packed well, and good price. Will buy from them again.

Messed up order, wont do business any more

This is to inform you that our order was really messed up. Please refer the order id 14121061-00.
We spoke to 4 different customer service representatives in the past month and gave clear directions to handle the shipment of the product. It will be almost 60 days before getting the product. We have not received the product yet and no clear comunications. Hope you might have call records and try to understand what customer wants. More details, you can call me.

The counter man was unfamiliar with the…

The counter man was unfamiliar with the stock, told me that they didn't have those fittings in stock anymore. I asked if I could go look in the back of the store to find the fittings that I needed, I found a whole section with all of the fittings that I needed... then it took 10 mins to find the SKU so that he could sell me a Walter 9" cut off disc. This store is not very well run and I would really like to see it improve.

This summer, I tried to purchase TWO brand new 372xp chainsaw from the manager- in person- and was given a cold response "I'm too busy to help you". He took down my name and phone number but never got back to me. I had tried to get Husqvarna parts in the past and was given the same treatment. Seeing as NIS (as we jokingly say around town- never in stock) is the Husqvarna dealer in Terrace, I sold all of my Husqvarna chainsaws and purchased TWO new Stihl MS461 so that I would not have to rely on NIS/Tenequip Terrace ever again for anything chainsaw related.

Please fix this store. Terrace needs a good hardware store, there is a lot of opportunity here.
