Rude Staff and a Birthday Ruined

Extremely Disappointing Experience at Tasty, Evington, Leicester – Rude and Unacceptable Behaviour

I had a really upsetting experience at Tasty in Evington, Leicester, on 8 October 2026, which was my birthday. What should have been a happy day turned into a very unpleasant experience because of the way I was treated by a member of staff.

I walked into the shop and left my bicycle near the entrance before placing my order. A staff member took my order and accepted my payment without any issue. While I was waiting for my food, another member of staff approached me and told me that I could not leave my bicycle inside the shop. I completely understood this and was more than willing to move it outside. I had absolutely no problem following their rules.

However, the way this staff member spoke to me was extremely rude, disrespectful and, in my experience, abusive. Instead of simply explaining the shop's policy politely, he made comments along the lines of saying that they should not be serving people like me. I found this behaviour humiliating and completely unacceptable. There was no reason to speak to a customer in such a manner.

The situation became even more disappointing when I explained that I had already placed and paid for my order. I simply asked if they could pack my food as a takeaway so I could move my bicycle outside and leave with my order. Instead of resolving the situation in a reasonable way, I was refused and told that they would not give orders to people with bicycles.

I want to make one thing absolutely clear: I had no issue with being asked to leave my bicycle outside. My issue was the way I was spoken to, the disrespect I experienced and the refusal to provide the food I had already paid for. A simple, polite explanation would have been enough, and this entire situation could easily have been avoided.

What made this experience even more upsetting was that it happened on my birthday. 8 October was supposed to be a special day for me, but instead I was left feeling insulted, humiliated and deeply disappointed. The way I was treated affected my mental health and caused me unnecessary stress on a day that should have been about happiness and celebration. Nobody should have to experience this kind of treatment, especially when they have done nothing wrong and are simply trying to buy food.

I also took the time to write a review about my experience on their website, hoping that my concerns would be heard. However, I later discovered that my review had been removed. This was even more disappointing because I was simply trying to share my genuine experience as a customer. Removing my review does not change what happened or how it made me feel.

I have never expected special treatment from any business. All I expect is basic respect, politeness and fair treatment, just like any other customer. Arriving on a bicycle should never be a reason for someone to be treated as though they are not welcome or do not deserve the same level of respect as everyone else.

I am sharing this experience because I believe customers have the right to speak honestly about how they have been treated. I hope the management of Tasty takes this complaint seriously, looks into what happened and addresses the behaviour of the staff involved.

This was not just a disappointing customer service experience; it genuinely spoiled my birthday and left me feeling upset long after I had left the shop. No customer should have to walk away from a business feeling this way after simply trying to place an order.

Based on my experience, I will not be returning to Tasty in Evington, Leicester. I hope no other customer has to go through a similar experience. Address:-192 Evington Rd, Leicester LE2 1HN
