Great food and perfect service. (Consider working on price or size of the small tikka though...)
Great food and perfect service. Can't wait to go back.
This joint is very much in the Dishoom, Saffron Circle style. Classic dishes and modern takes.
The decor is sort of "indian patina" in style. Upstairs was more noisy and bustling and downstairs quieter and equally nice.
We ordered: RAJ KACHORI, KEMA PAV and some RAJ KACHORI to begin. All were nicely presented, flavourful and represented decent value for money.
The "small" chicken tikka, however, was just too small for 9.50£. It consisted of two tiny bits of chicken some sauce and garnish. There's no denying it was advertised as small but it was also not great value for the size and work involved in preparing it.
To follow we had an amazing CHETTINAD CHICKEN BIRYANI and
the CALCUTTA BHUNA GOSHT. Both were well cooked, appropriately spicy and well proportioned.
The dessert menu looked good and original but I'll reserve that for a future visit.
Cocktails were also pretty creative and transporting!
The service was spot on. Everyone we spoke to was really pleasant and genuine.
They brought a well-paced series of starters and matched their service's pace with the speed we were eating at.
A bunch of different people looked after us during the evening but they were all spot on topping-up water, checking that all was ok. They were present without being too present.
Great joint. Highly recommended.
