Grateful for our dog and the work you do!

We adopted our dog through Tails Rescue and we couldn't be happier! They were very responsive and transparent when discussing the dogs we were interested in. We were split between two lovely dogs but Marina advised us on which would be best for us considering my parents would occasionally dog sit. Our dog arrived on the promised date and ever since then we've been on a wonderful life journey together!

That being said, we made sure to do our research and be clear about what our needs were when inquiring about a dog. Tails Rescue also make it very clear that you can't expect anything from a dog that has been living on the street, abused, abandoned, etc. and is fresh off a 3-day car ride. They take time to get used to their surroundings and their nervous system needs to calm down. Our dog had some anxiety and resource guarding tendencies at first, but through patience, positive reinforcement, and love, we can now even touch his food while he's eating and he's much more relaxed and easygoing.

I'm really thankful to Tails Rescue for not just bringing our incredible dog into our lives but also being stark advocates for dogs who would've otherwise not been given a chance.

Do not recommend

I would recommend to use another agency!
They are very nice but does zero background checks of you, don’t match the dog with you properly and don’t help you if it doesn’t work out.

I got home an extremely terrified little pup who was constantly in fight or flight and was absolutely not suitable to live with me alone in the city. It became very clear that the dog should have only been paired up with someone who had another dog and lived in the countryside.

She also came with parasites and I really tried my best to get help and make it work but it just wasn’t suitable. When I tried to get the agency’s help they just blamed me and didn’t want to help me at all. So I had to turn to another organization for help. And luckily they found here a new better home.

But this was a real trauma for the dog and for me to.

I don’t doubt that they care for dogs but it’s just not a serious organisation if there is no fall back help or real background checks. Because YES it does matter where you live, if you have other dogs, if you live alone, if you are messy or not. And unfortunately I was not paired up with a suitable dog and got zero help.

Dear Linnea,

Thank you for sharing your opinion.
However, we would like to clarify a few important points.
You adopted Mica (Blair) on 21 July 2024, when she was approximately only 4 and half months old. By the end of August 2024, just over a month later, you wanted to rehome her yourself and asked us to simply repost your advertisement from your own profile.

In your own message to us, you wrote:

"Har haft Mika på 'boot camp' hos hundtränare i 2 veckor... utifrån deras erfarenhet och vad både dom och jag sett så har vi tyvärr kommit fram till att jag inte är rätt hem för henne... Jag har alltså kommit fram till att jag gärna omplacerar henne själv. L& F kommer dock hjälpa till att sprida mitt inlägg på sina kanaler. Hur känner du kring det? Vill du hjälpa till att sprida inlägget också?"

Your request was for us to help promote your own rehoming advertisement while you arranged the rehoming yourself. Unfortunately, this is not something we can do. As a rescue organisation, we are responsible for ensuring that every adoption and any rehoming is handled through our own process, with proper screening of potential adopters. We and other organisation cannot simply repost private advertisements or transfer that responsibility.
It is also important to note that Mica was still a very young rescue puppy who had recently arrived in a completely new country and environment. During her first month with you, she spent two weeks in a boot camp rather than having the opportunity to settle into a stable home environment. Puppies, especially rescue puppies, need time, patience, consistency, and a sense of safety to adjust. Behaviours shown during the first weeks after adoption are not always representative of the dog's long-term personality once they have had the opportunity to settle.
Regarding the parasites, Many dog parasites are the same in both countries, such as giardia, worms, fleas, hookworms, whipworms, roundworms, tapeworms, ticks. Some parasites are more common in Russia due to the climate, wildlife, but they are not necessarily parasites that cannot exist in Sweden. Also, if there were concerns or problems with parasite after she arrived, we would like to understand why you did not contact us in 2024 so we could have tried to help at that time.
We are also in contact with Mica’s siblings, and we have seen that with time, stability, and the right support, they have all developed into safe and happy dogs. They live in different types of homes—both in city environments and in villages—and their progress has not been determined simply by whether they live in a city or countryside. Each dog is an individual, and adjustment takes time.
We understand that you felt Mica’s needs were not a match for your situation, and we respect that making such a decision can be difficult. However, we do not believe it is accurate to state that there was "zero help" or that we did not care about the outcome. Our priority has always been Mica’s welfare since she was rescued and finding the right solution for her.
We are genuinely pleased that Mica has now found a home through another organisation, and we are grateful that we were able to follow her journey until she found the right home. Finding a home that better suits her needs has always been our primary concern.
We really wish you and Mica all the very best for the future.
Kind regards,
Tails Rescue Sweden

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We are so happy with our experience with Tails Rescue Sweden and especially with our wonderful new family member🐶❤️. The communication throughout the entire process was excellent - friendly, professional and supportive.

They are very honest about the fact that rescue dogs require patience and understanding, which we really appreciated. It also meant a lot that they followed up after the adoption to check how everything was going.

You can truly tell how much they care about their dogs. We highly recommend TRS to anyone considering adoption!

We are very pleased with the whole…

We are very pleased with the whole process. From the very beginning we got a good impression and they are very serious about their mission to help the dogs to a fitting home. I can highly recommend a dog from TRS.

Stay away...This is not a charity

Highly recommend to find another rescue agency if you are serious about adopting a dog. This organization don't share the real information about the dogs. Most of the dogs are terrified and they come cramped in a small van. We had high hopes for our dog but he was super terrified of everything. He was showing symptoms of abuse. And when you ask them for help, they will make a blocket post to get the dog re-adopted again with lies that the dog is friendly and looking for a new home. But actually the poor soul is terrified and will not do good in a normal home.

I highly doubt if they actually care about the wellbeing of the dogs. Just go to blocket and search under 'tails for rescue sweden'. You will see a lot of advertisements where these dogs are forced for re-adoption because they can't adapt to normal homes.

Hello!

We try to understand why you are disappointing and maybe our dog doesn't meet your expectations so we will figure it out.

1.Please inform us the name of the dog, when you have adopted, age, what went wrong, have you contacted us by email.

2. We use Blocket as a platform to advertise and draw attention to homeless dogs. You can easy find out which of dog is in Sweden on our website.
www.tailsrescuesweden.org

The dogs describtion based on the character/behavior it exhibits in its environment in Russia. This does not mean an absolute guarantee that the dog will function in the same way after arriving in Sweden. Character/behavior is to some extent environmentally determined, which means that a change of environment can trigger changed behavior. As an owner, YOU strongly influence the dog's experiences of, for example, safety and danger.

3. Dog transport
We work with the dog transport company from Poland. The company is approved by the County Administrative Board and they also have a permit as an animal transporter. They use a specially built dog transport truck with 19 cages built on site. The truck has a roof-mounted A/C with both cooling and heating, a sunroof and powerful fans that can run for several hours even if the engine is turned off. This allows them to drive the truck with good ventilation for the dogs both summer and winter. There is also a built-in water tank for filling water bowls and cameras so that we can keep an eye on the dogs while they are driving. We and our adoptives families have videos/pictures from every delivery and you can easy find them online.

4.You can follow us on Instagram/Facebook and easy see the lives of our dogs before and after

5. And, we wish we had time to take care of every single one of those we rescue. That sanctuary is our dream and goal in life. But since we can't, we are turning to the rest of you who have the same mindset as we.
You who want to RESCUE dogs.

Because what we're doing is not that we are selling any dogs or adopting out any dogs. We are asking for help in RESCUE dogs.
And when it comes to RESCUE, it still has to be unconditional for the dog you rescue.
Is it even a rescue otherwise?

You're welcome to have demands on us, that we vaccinate and care for the dogs, that we do what we can with the means we have. That we do everything according to the law!

But you can NOT have demands on a dog you want to save. It's not fair!

We always warn that expect that everything you're wondering about will go to hell and happen a thousand times over and think about whether you have the opportunity to solve these situations in such cases. And if you don't have that, then this probably isn't for you!!!
Because we can't promise you anything about any dog except that problems will arise.

In the end, Thank you so much to all of people who have so far volunteered to rescue with us. They are our heroes, but above all the dog's heroes and saviors!
