Synthogy - Stay Away If You Are A Professional
We had been a loyal customer of Synthogy since 2005. Unfortunately, we caught out Synthogy's customer service lying to us in May 2023 regarding the capabilities of the new Ivory 3 Engine. We run a business in the creative field which I assure you is hard enough - we consider our staff and suppliers as business partners, and when they lie to us, it is our business partner lying to us. Our studio has flourished in so many ways when we started cutting ties with companies or people engaged in lying or bad faith practices - with suppliers we discovered the product is NEVER EVER - NOT EVER worth the trouble and upset that that a bad intentioned person enjoys injecting into our hard fought-for company. We serve high-end clients, and when we deployed Synthogy's Ivory 3 Engine into our projects, it failed very badly in certain circumstances. We brought this technical issue to the attention of Customer Service who tried to clear us off the line with a "solution" that might work for an amateur, but absolutely not in a professional setting, and which "solution" was entirely at odds with what the manual indicates the product is capable of doing. So, either Synthogy is publishing misleading data in their manual, or their Customer Service is lying or has no clue. If you are a PROFESSIONAL i the music business, be aware that Synthogy chooses to treat its most loyal customers like scum underfoot. Working with Synthogy is like being handed a lovely cake in the first minute, followed by a punch in the face the second moment. Almost all suppliers we use are DELIGHTFUL to interact with when we have a technical problem. Synthogy should take a page from Vienna Symphonic Library, or Celemony. Professional musicians and studio owners should stick to professional suppliers. Honesty and professional are the only two characteristics that matter if you are making music professionally - unfortunately, Synthogy falls far short of the mark on both those counts.
