South Yorkshire Housing Association is a JOKE

Awful. Since they’ve had a change in management they only seem interested in money and have no regard for tenants. They have a “mental health and wellbeing director” who has no “hands on” experience with people with mental health, special needs, autism, vulnerable adults/children. Her qualifications are in finance (so basically worked in an upstairs office away from the clients in previous work places), the main CEO has no empathy towards people with special needs, elderly or the vulnerable, and passes anything which comes across his desk to the very lower ranks in the organisation which means things don’t get done. Then on top of that the managers and supervisors are now incompetent and can’t even follow their own guidelines, always making excuses as to why something isn’t done. The houses themselves are okay, you could make a family home here, however the vetting process is so slack that anyone could get a house (the amount of undesirables who wreck their homes, gardens, property, who break the law, have bonfires in their gardens and burn everything including plastics, tyres etc that the fire brigade has to be called because they set fire to the back garden fencing is ridiculous, the broken sofas and dirty mattresses and other junk left outside their property as if it will magically disappear and housing do nothing to stop this and allow it to carry one saying you have to report it to the council is idiotic as it’s SYHA tenets who are making this mess and eyesore so they are accountable to SYHA.

Before Covid I would have recommend South Yorkshire Housing Association to friends and family to live here, now I wouldn’t wish my worst enemy to live and put up with this.
