Scary lending practices - really expensive

After receiving an (unsolicited) email from them saying "we can help you find a loan between £100 - £5,000, even if you have bad credit. We've prepared your application so you won't need to fill in our form. Simply confirm the amount you wish to borrow and we'll do the rest" I was intrigued. I thought surely they can't just be handing out loans without any credit check/affordability check (Especially as they are claiming to be FCA regulated). But yep - no information required, loan offered and the APR on this is 669.35% - absolutely criminal. They should be shut down.

SCAM

SCAM - they withdraw £29.95 from your account without permission as a credit service, and they make it almost impossible to get a refund

Fair company

Seem to be quite professional and understanding. They deal with complaints fairly in my book. I however must say that they need a proper website that shows you the loan balance etc

BAD AT HANDLING COMPLAINTS/LOAN IRRESPONSIBLY

I had 2 loans with this company in close proximity, the first loan they did not check my bank statements to see if the loan was affordable in the first place, If they had they would have noticed I could not afford the loan. I then lent from them again soon after, again they did not check my bank statements to see if I could afford that loan either. I had to borrow again so they were not helping me by getting me in further debt with the interest I had to pay back. A responsible lender would not have lent to me nor would they have lent to me again. I have put in a claim to them about irresponsible/unnafordable lending but they haven't bothered to get back to me. If they do not refund the charges, interest and statutory interest then I shall be going to the FOS and they will rule in my favour. I am unsure why this company doesn't deal with complaints properly as it costs them a lot more going to the FOS.

loan shark company

I took out a £900 loan & paid back almost £500 within the first 40days - even with doing that the interest on the loan was utterly crippling - these loans are designed to keep you in a debt cycle. Even if you make high over payments the internet that’s added is designed to keep you in a monthly payment plan - there is no way to escape the interest. The company doesn’t complete any credit checks - they never ask for bank statements nor did they complete a credit credit or they would have seen I was deep in debt and I was having to borrow for multiple lenders to try and keep my head above water - I had more money going out than I had coming in. Now I’ve been forced into a DMP - and my formal complaint to Swift Sterling is being fobbed off.

Terrible Website, Terrible Customer Service

I contacted this company to change my repayment date as it was before work pay day. I was told that as it wasn’t possible to change it, the pending payment had been cancelled and that I could then manually pay on pay day.

This never happened and I was still charged.

I’ll also point out that their website is truly terrible and if you do make an additional payment, it doesn’t show in your balance Nd so you can’t see what you actually owe.

Swift sterling are a payday loan …

Swift sterling are a payday loan company, they have a few trading names and do not have a UK licence. They have a Maltese Licence, but not quite as enjoyable as Maltesers.Sadly i have been in the situation where i needed to opt for a payday loan and had been round the houses eventually finding swift sterling.Following my application i had an American sounding gentleman call me to tell me he couldnt find my work number on line, bizarre, however my main gripe is that there is no option to repay early. There are better options out there fowks by far,i did not have a horror story but do regret using them. The exp was far from pleasant
