Not a good experience at all

Not a good experience at all. I would NEVER stay at another property managed by Sweetstay. We seriously do not recommend. 4 adults stayed 8 nights w/ 6 of those days/nights lacking water pressure & many days we had no water and/or only a trickle of water. Could not all shower on same day & water took min 5 minutes to get warm/hot & would often stop working midway thru showers. Sweetstay sent messages blaming the city work & "sorry for inconvenience"; we told them water isn't a convenience; it is a necessity & please move us to a new location w/water-even a hotel & they never replied to our request issued multiple times. They said it was not their fault & also because we were on the 3rd floor of the old building, low water pressure was expected; but we were never told this in advance & never notified that city could be working on water lines. This put a serious damper on our vacation time in Florence as we never knew if we would have water or not. We did dishes by hand when the water came on & did 1 laundry load; dryer did not work more than 2 mins with an error message we could not clear. Elec outlet in BR tripped breakers. We had to use a receptacle in the kitchen instead. They responded to each issue via texting on the booking site and each time had an excuse for everything we notified them about with no resolve. They offered us a dinner to compensate for little to no water. This was a huge insult/lacks empathy. Just read other reviews where vacationers had issues with other properties Sweetstay managed and you will see a pattern. They are uncaring, dishonest, and very unprofessional. Instead of Sweetstay..... Stayaway.

#409 Neptune House Gibraltar-Disgustingly filthy apartment

#409, Neptune House, Marina Bay, Gibraltar hosted by Sweetstay! Was the most disgustingly filthy apartment we've ever seen! Took us 2.5 hours to actually get to the apartment because the address takes you "near" but not actually there! You have to park 2 blocks away in a parkade! No communication the evening we got there. Had to stay the night and sleep in our clothes on the bed because it was so filthy. We left in the morning because we only had 1 day in Gibraltar for our tour.

What was wrong?! Filthy carpeting throughout, filthy upholstery, bloodstains on sheets, broken steps actually taped together with masking tape, mould in the shower, shower did not drain, broken toilet seat, balcony door broken, no working lights in second bedroom, no wifi, sticky cupboard doors, air conditioning not working, 2 old stinky towels for 4 people. When we contacted @hotels.com and Sweetstay they refused to give us a refund...even with all the photos we took of the filth. Too bad we can't submit photos on Trustpilot. DO NOT STAY HERE!

serious problems, Ot hides

I booked a flat in Valetta with these guys. I chose it because it had three roof terraces, which were excellent and exactly as described. That is where the good news stopped.

In the run-up to arrival I sought a whatsapp number for the mysterious Ot, as we have had problems gaining access to Airbnbs before, and when you are arriving tired and hot and without email you need the reassurance of direct comms. Ot flatly refused to provide any local contact until the morning of our arrival. Over-controlling, much. We rang his UK number - permanent answerphone.

It got worse.

We got the lockbox code. Arrived at the street door. Turned the key (with great difficulty and much jiggling)...and the lock did not open. Basically the lock was broken. The key was turning but the bolt was not withdrawing. What does one do? We whatsapped the local guy, whose reply was "we cannot control the street lock" (he later supplied a new key, but it had the same problem and the lock was still broken). We had to resort to basically kicking the door open past the lock.
This left us for four days panicking about being able to get back into the flat. In the end we managed around it successfully with a combination of taping back the bolt, holding it back with a clothes peg and leaving the door locked open, all countered by other residents in the block, but in short this flat should not have been let.

The terraces were great. Location is excellent. The street was deliciously quiet. Valetta is great.

Everything else in the flat was s8it. Cheapest nastiest 1.3 m bed (plenty of room for a 2m one), cheapest nastiest bed linen, cheapest nastiest kitchenette arrangement with one knackered frying pan and one equally knackered pan, kettle perched dangerously on a shelf at chest height next to the sink, a tiny fridge. Cheapest nastiest TV with no English channels. Cheapest nastiest cutlery, glasses. In the bathroom no sink plug, loo flusher broken, shower head leaking in all directions, scruffy mouldy shower curtain. The end wall of Terrace 2 looked over 70 feet of space, but came up only to the bottom of my thigh. We reassured ourselves by placing the table against it as a guard against accidentally falling off it, but I'd say it was far from safe.
It appears from this, and from Ot's other reviews, that he is in the business of minimum quality for maximum fee. If I was one his property owners I'd be seriously concerned.
We will certainly not book with Ot or S8eetstay again.

We enjoy our stay in Classy apartment…

We enjoy our stay in Classy apartment in Florence. Great location with walking distance to all historical points, and a few steps from central market. All details are thoughtful. The greeter was nice and helpful. She waited for us downstairs at the building door. 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms give us lots of flexibility. The only minor issue is there's no shelf in bathroom cubicle, so we have to put shampoo and everything on the floor. One of the beds is too soft that caused some headache. Other than these, everything is perfect. Will come back.

These guys are con artists

These guys are con artists. We made a late and fairly desperate booking for an apartment for 2 days and paid the £250 deposit required in good faith. We left it respectfully as we always do with accommodation, only to be accused of damaging a carpet which we did not. Subsequently £80 was charged to us. Notwithstanding, the listing was misleading. We should’ve been more careful when booking; only one review on booking.com with no comments and (of course!) a 10/10 should have raised a flag. Do not book through these cowboys.

St Ambrogio Courtyard Florence

We actually booked through booking.com, but were met in Florence by local staff for the key. Our Saint Ambrosio Courtyard apartment was perfect for us. The location was excellent, we had a chance to experience Florence like locals, not just as tourists. The apartment was nicely furnished, very comfortable, well aired (even the bathroom had a small window) with a private patio (perfect for smokers) and an atrium style yard, two spacious and comfortable bedrooms, well equipped kitchen, heating that worked even in May on a chilly morning. Everything was perfect for us and the staff very helpful. We got two set of keys. We got a complimentary late checkout (at noon). We would always stay here again and recommend it to our friends.

All went well with Sweetstay and our apartment

We liked our apartment very much. It was in a great location with only a 10-15 minute walk straight along the road to the Duomo and the centre of Florence. It was modern and clean with a small balcony, and 2 wc's. The rooms are light and airy. We were met to be given the keys and other useful information on the flat and local area. All communication was good.

All was perfect

The apartment in Florence is spacious, comfortable, well-equipped and located in the historic center of the city right next to the Uffizi Gallery. A deposit of €250 is required which will be returned 7 days after check out.

Absolutely fantastic stay at Mercury Towers

Absolutely fantastic stay at Mercury Towers! The apartment was brand new, beautifully furnished, and fully equipped with everything we needed. The views from the terrace were stunning, especially overlooking St Julian’s and the Mediterranean. The rooftop pool was a real highlight, offering breathtaking views. Although the gym was closed during our stay, the management went above and beyond to provide a fantastic alternative, ensuring we didn’t miss out on our fitness routine. The location is perfect—right next to shops, restaurants, and entertainment, making it easy to explore. The apartment itself was impeccably clean, and the check-in process was smooth. The management team was incredibly helpful and accommodating. We felt very well taken care of and had an amazing time. Definitely looking forward to returning! Highly recommend this luxurious stay.
