Worst experience, do not book with sun express! I’ve never left a review before, but this experience has been the worst I've ever had.
Me and my boyfriend were to fly to Turkey and arrived at the airport 3 hours early. The line for bag drop off only opened 2 hours before, but the line was longer than I had ever seen. There were only 3 counters open (2 regular, 1 priority) so the line went incredibly slow. We had asked twice if we couldn’t do self drop off, since we had checked in online and our flight would leave soon, but that wasn’t possible for our fight. After 1,5 hours of waiting in line, we were told at the counter that we weren’t able to drop off our bags anymore, because boarding had already started. They said they called from the counter that people from our flight must go to the priority line. However, in an overly crowded line, that was impossible to hear. They didn’t announce through the speakers, on the boards or walk past the line to announce properly. They had no compassion, didn’t tell us what to do, just told us we were too late and should have paid more attention. They said we had to rebook a flight and get out the line. So after 2,5 hours of waiting, we had to book a hotel for the night and another flight, which cost us an additional EUR600, and our first day off our holiday. After contacting SunExpress, they’ve done nothing with this information, but say we had to contact our touroperator.
On the way back, we checked in online, but they said that was only a reservation, not a full check in, so we had to pay extra at the counter. Super unfriendly people.
Extremely disappointed with this airline, would discourage anyone who wants to book a flight with them.

I have been flying with SunExpress for 12 years, twice a year, from Bodrum to Munich and back.
Most of the time I had huge problems with the online booking, BUT:
Apparently, they have fixed the issues, because this time the booking was absolutely smooth and painless!

This was my first initial experience with Sunexpress. I had not heard of company before. This is a basic airline, which acts accordingly. The check- in process was easy & smooth, I had pre-check online prior. Staff were great and assisted myself and special need child. Overall experience not bad at all!

We booked a return flight back for the wrong month. Firstly their website is awful and jumped from July (the correct month) to September ( the wrong month). When trying to change it through my account online it errored. We called the Customer service rep who said we would have to pay £200+ to change it. The initial incorrect flight was £99 each. The correct flight was ~£63. Now the terms and conditions state if the flight is less then the original then you will still pay the larger of the two fares plus 50€, if it was higher then you would pay the difference plus 50€. In the end we did it online, but we’re still charged £179 when the most we should have paid was 100€? A) we couldn’t change the flight as it errored. B) the rep said it was going to cost £200+ to amend C) we had to cancel the return flight and rebook as this was our only option - costing us way more. There was no way we could amend it as per the T&Cs

I bought a ticket on 19 April. I was told that the credit card transaction fell apart and my money was sent back to be received in 3 days. I did receive it, however 38.95 Euro was missing. My bank in Turkey confirmed in written that the said amount was cut by Sunexpress. They dont know why. I wish to receive the said amount back (BTW: I had to buy the same ticket on your TR hotline on 24 April). I was told to apply via your internet site. Nothing is available or working there. Please return to me via mail Best regards

On March 1st, 2026, I experienced two serious failures during my SunExpress flight XQ 0564 from Antalya to Vienna — neither of which has been resolved to this day.
1. Check-in Disaster at Antalya Airport Terminal 2
At 09:45, after waiting in line at desks 235-236, I was told the desk was closing just as my turn arrived and was redirected. After queuing again at the new desk, that one closed too. Passengers with 40 kg of luggage were forced to wander between desks due to TGS ground staff’s complete lack of coordination. If a desk is closing, why is no barrier placed to prevent passengers from queuing needlessly?
2. Damaged Baggage Delivered in Vienna
Upon arrival, my suitcase was delivered with its telescopic handle mechanism completely shattered at the base — entirely unusable. I immediately filed a PIR (Property Irregularity Report) at Vienna Airport. After multiple formal complaints to SunExpress, I received the same automated response each time: “Handles are protruding parts; send us a repair invoice.” A handle torn from the body of a suitcase cannot be repaired, and SunExpress’s internal terms cannot override passenger rights under the Montreal Convention (Article 17).
After months of being given the runaround, I am now pursuing formal legal action through the Consumer Arbitration Committee. I am sharing this experience to warn other passengers.

Yeni bankoda tekrar sıraya girdiğimde, o banka da kapatıldı ve yeniden başka bir bankoya yönlendirildim. Ellerinde 40 kg bagaj bulunan yolcuların, TGS personelinin organizasyonsuzluğu yüzünden banka banka gezdirilmesi kabul edilemez. Madem banka kapatılacak, neden şerit çekilmiyor?
2. Viyana’da Teslim Edilen Hasarlı Bagaj
Uçuş sonrasında valizimin teleskopik çekme kolunun plastik gövde kökü tamamen parçalanmış ve kullanılamaz halde teslim edildi. Viyana Havalimanı’nda derhal PIR (hasar tutanağı) tutturdum. SunExpress’e birden fazla yazılı başvuru yaptım. Her seferinde “çekme kolları çıkıntılı parça sayılır, tamir faturası gönderin” şeklinde aynı otomatik yanıtı aldım. Gövdeden kopmuş, tamir edilemez durumdaki bir valiz için ne tamir faturası gönderilebilir ne de bu yanıt uluslararası Montreal Konvansiyonu kapsamındaki haklarımı ortadan kaldırabilir.
Aylarca oyalandım, sonuç alamadım. Tüketici Hakem Heyeti başvurusu dahil tüm yasal haklarımı kullanmaya devam edeceğim. Bu deneyimi yaşayacak diğer yolcuları uyarmak için paylaşmak istedim.

Awful experience with SunExpress. Had 15kg of luggage included in my booking and then paid for an additional 20kg of luggage before I flew out. No issues on the way out but on the way back staff claimed I hadn’t got any luggage allowance and charged me £160 for 2 cases. One weighing 18kg and the other 15kg. Made a complaint to SunExpress who are now lying saying I had 66kg of luggage. What they’ve done is added my luggage twice! So their mistake and I’ve asked for proof of this weight and now they’re not responding despite me sending proof that I had 2 cases and the weight. Complete fraud to take extra money. I’ll be taking this further. And from the reviews looks like they’ve done it to lots of other people. Staff were also so rude to me, one man waved his hand and said go away go away. The 2 women were talking amongst themselves and answering calls on mobiles and instagram notifications. When I asked if they could help she held her finger up to shush me. UPDATE: SunExpress have offered me £30 refund for the £160 they have fraudulently taken from me! Absolute joke. I want my whole money refunded not a pathetic £30!!!

I regret choosing this airline.
When purchasing my ticket, I paid for cabin baggage and a personal item. I followed all size requirements precisely, down to the millimeter. However, during boarding, I was the ONLY passenger stopped and asked to have my suitcase weighed. Due to a slight overweight, a staff member demanded an additional payment of €80. (These are the rules, and although the situation was unpleasant, I understand that I had no other choice.)
The staff member spoke to me in a rude manner and seemed visibly pleased about the situation. All three staff members addressed me in a raised tone, even though I did not resist paying and remained calm throughout the interaction.
As a result, I was forced to check in my brand new suitcase. Upon arrival, I received it with a crack and a large number of scratches.
I contacted customer support twice, and both times my claim was rejected.
If you have the option, choose a more expensive airline — at least the staff there treat passengers with respect.

I would give zero stars but this isn't an option! The flight was cancelled by TUI but I had paid for extra legroom seats which had to be done direct with Sun Express. Initial contact was good but since I have submit all the necessary evidence that I had booked and paid for extra legroom seats (which I should not have needed to since their own records showed this!), I have had no responses to my several emails requesting my refund. Disgraceful. I will not give up until I receive this
