Landlord Review

Landlord Review
Having read the tenant reviews, for this business, I now feel content to record my experience with Stuart & Partners, Haywards Heath & Hassocks.
My opinion / experience -
1. Not proactive, in delivering / providing, important information.
2. Curt and, on occasion dismissive.
3. Un-apologetic, upon causing unnecessary / avoidable problems.
The higher up in the business, you go, the worse, the service!
On the good side, the documentation and reports are presented well etc.

If I could give zero I would.

If I could give zero I would.

Simon at the Hassocks branch is rude, does not respond to issues quickly. Belittling too.

They tried to insist on their contracted cleaners after my professional cleaners took keys from their office cleaned to a professional standard but waited 3 weeks to do a check out inventory and then say cobweb and dead insect on stove present and needed re cleaning. AVOID!

Further the property I rented had problem neighbours, a landlord who turned up and entered the property without permission on 23rd Dec 2024, letting agent thought this was acceptable. Property is back on letting a market Hassocks office.

Couldn’t give a flying fig about the tenant!

Even though the staff were pleasant and friendly at Stuart and Partners in Haywards Heath, please remember that they are working on behalf of the landlord and not the tenant!

The landlord was a petty twit…..that’s putting that very politely! even though communications were through Stuart and Partner.
It was reasonably okay until the return of the deposit. This is where the penny dropped that Stuart and Partner couldn’t give a flying fig about me…the tenant. Don’t be fooled, it’s all about how much money they can ‘make’ from YOUR deposit.

The greedy twit of a landlord decided that he would try to help himself to MY deposit! He made up ridiculous amounts for things which weren’t accurate, these were validated by Stuart and Partners! I would have happily paid if they had provided reasonable quotes or receipts for any work needed; after asking on several occasions, none were ever produced to me.
9 weeks later, my deposit still wasn’t returned and the landlord had the audacity to increase the amount!! Again, this was all done through Stuart &Partners.

The bad / sad thing is that Stuart and Partner supported this from the landlord! - remember they don’t support the tenant, that’s not where they make their money!!

I understand people don’t have a choice of whether they chose to rent, I didn’t either, however, take photographs of everything when you move in, make sure you have a date on your photo, log absolutely everything, keep every email sent to Stuart and Partners and go through the check in and check out inventories with a fine tooth comb - again remember, the landlord pays for these check in / check out reports…..getting the picture?
Hold your nerve, don’t let the pressure/ indirect threatening emails phase you, and go through the dispute resolution process. Provide TRUE, factual evidence, and justice will be done. Hopefully you won’t get a such a petty landlord, which Stuart and Partners appears to approve of his behaviour (betterment) and what he has done. Always remember, at the end, they are just after YOUR money…..YOUR deposit!
You have been warned…..

I don’t know where Stuart and partners get 2.8 score from, all their reviews are 1 star. I’d give them a big fat zero, if it was an option. Like other reviewers say, avoid!

I was a tenant and was renting the four…

I was a tenant and was renting the four bedroom property for almost five years. I had the most terrible experience. The property was really dilapidated and was in really bad state. I was reporting any faults and issues straight away. The letting agent can clearly identify issues but was telling me that it’s nothing to do with them and we’re blaming on the landlord. I have asked them how long they knew them for, I was told 20 years. I then questioned if they had a personal connections. In the past 18 months it was so stressful, I actually became really unwell. I had a water leak in the bathroom which was running down from the second floor to the lounge that was on the first floor. I have reported this issue in March 2021. The issue was ignored, I was reporting that it was getting worse and the ceiling started to have some cracks. I was so concerned and was worried, it looked as the ceiling can collapse any minute. The water was running down by December 2021, my furniture was ruined and eventually the clueing collapsed on my head. I suffered from head injury (concussion). I felt so unwell for weeks as a result of that. The letting agent keep taking the landlord’s side. It was so terrible. Eventually I had to report this issue to the local authority and the senior environmental officer carriers out the inspection. Straight after that the letting agent gave me the eviction letter. I was evicted unlawfully, it’s called revenge eviction. The letting agent continued taking the landlord’s side. I was paying rent for four and a half years, looking after the property well and I was told that I have to leave within two months. When I said that I have nowhere to go with my two children. I was told that I need to leave within two months. The property is already to let again, despite the fact that so many things are in a terrible state. The letting agent treated me absolutely terribly, when I suppose to work from home I was told I had to leave the house because the contractor requested that, in fact the landlord’s daughter arrived to the property with her boyfriend which was trespassing as I wasn’t advised that she was coming. The letting agent told me that they didn’t know she was coming in fact they knew and didn’t tell me. I believe the this was breach of the tenancy agreement. When I tried to raise a question that I would like to be present when contractor is going to be there because I have lots of documents, jewellery and expensive items. I was called by the director of this letting agent being difficult. I believe I have right as a tenant to remain at the property when contractors were there. In addition to that the landlord’s daughter was working round the property taking photographs of my positions and going through my children’s drawers without my permission or even my knowledge that she was suppose to be there. When I raised this with the letting agent, I was told that she allowed to take photos. I believe they still need a permission for that. I had cameras for security at that property and this is the only way I found out that the landlord’s daughter and her boyfriend were there. These two people were not on my tenancy agreement and nowhere was stated that these people will be attending to the property all the time. I believe this should’ve been written in the tenancy agreement and should had their names.
I’m so disappointed with the treatment.

Never again!

I have been renting with them for 5 years, they employ third party company for the final part of check out and that’s when they shine. Their expectations are out of this world. Half a decade letting almost £50K revenue from it and they point out and charge you for a silly things. They should teach on how to butcher 5 year old relationship with the client in one week. So if you want your full deposit back and hassle free move, Avoid
