on phone 3 times today for 30 minutes each time no response the then tried chat line same thing.
Paid premium for overnight delivery
Paid premium for overnight delivery. No cutoff time notification for overnight was on the on the website when checking out. I was offered nothing to compensate for the inconvenience. I SOL and they SUX. PS. Their cut off time is 3PM Ohio time.
Unusable product, waste of money, untrustworthy
Unusable product.
Bought a privacy screen, wanted to cancel after 9 minutes, they promptly refused.
After receiving, it doesn't fit (magnets too weak), doesn't even filter, and cost 50CHF- waste of money.
No support or warranty
8K hybrid optical HDMI cable stopped working after 2-3 months (started blacking out and would not play HDR material). I contacted support twice for a warranty exchange and no response at all. As if the company doesn't exist.
Nobody answers the phone at StarTech…
Nobody answers the phone at StarTech whether it be for sales or technical support, individuals or businesses. So explain how it is currently rated as one of Canada's best managed companies for 14 consecutive years. Certainly all of the reviewers can't be wrong. Even its product literature needs improvement since other resellers can't get guidance.
Unbelievably terrible experience
Unbelievably terrible experience. You will never talk to a human. The simplest requests are fielded by inept ai. I didn’t even get equipment yet and they can’t handle the simplest requests
Illegal practices
Startech owner Ivan Popovici shows no regard for the law. When I told him I would report him for violations of the law, he said, "go ahead." Buyer beware.
Terrible service
Terrible service
I have been with the company for 10 years
And I am always paying 6 months in advance
They are not sending any mail email about the status – they are expecting you to go on the website.
After 6 months, if your account is negative, they close service. WITHOUT WARNING no email, no calls, nothing.
And then when you pay, they do resume service
I paid 10 days ago I still don’t have service >> HORRIBLE !!!
distributor account
I am writing to express my disappointment with the 5% discount on our distributor account. This discount is insufficient, and the customer service we have received has been subpar. I request that you reconsider our pricing and provide us with a significantly more competitive offer. Until then, we will be returning to Tripp Lite for our business needs.
Garbage racks, customer service goes no where.
Wasted days waiting for a rack from you guys. It arrives. bent. I bend it back, now the rack wont assemble properly without stripping screws as every hole is fully powder coated and makes it near impossible to get them in. I struggle through it, finally put one piece of gear only to find out the design is flawed. You have to bend the thing by hand with all your might while putting network gear in and once you are done and step back the entire thing is bent, flimsy and weak. I go onto your chat since the box is now ruined and I just want a refund. I spend 10 minutes in chat and the whole thing dies. There is not an IT pro on earth that uses you guys and I can see why. You charge $200 for this rack and it look and it should cost about $40. I will be buying the $100 one from a competitor with 4 solid posts, no this awful design. Worst purchase I have made for tech gear.
Now I need to take this erector set apart, pack it all up into a real box, since the one they send you is flimsy so that you can never reuse it. I can pack it, ship it and have Amazon give me a refund and will have wasted about 3 hours. See they want to wear you out so you will just accept this.
I will NEVER buy another starch.com product again.
Company that monitors nothing
Company that monitors nothing in their shipping process. They have no idea when my package will arrive. They say it comes from UK whereas it was supposed to come from Netherlands. Been 1 week I am waiting when I chosed Express delivery. Moreover products are far too expensive and quality average. Support answers nicely but have no information ro give. Funny company.
Very surprised by the previous reviews
Very surprised by the previous reviews. I am French, and I ordered a DisplayLink hub from Amazon for my MAC. I had issues with poor resolution management and contacted support via chat. The person was unable to find the problem on the spot, so we exchanged emails for 2 weeks, and they eventually resolved the issue. During those 2 weeks, the support (Alex) always made sure to keep me informed, reassuring me that they hadn't forgotten about me. They even offered me a gift to thank me for my patience. Really, I don't understand the previous reviews....
I ordered through Amazon a Desktop…
I ordered through Amazon a Desktop Computer Monitor Stand. It arrived without any problem. I checked contents and discovered I was missing 4 essential M5x18mm Hex Screws . Double checked packaging and emailed supplier through Amazon. After a short delay and two messages I was told supplier would ship missing screws to me . Nothing happened so sent further reminders. Then told supplier doesn’t have the 4 missing screws. They said I should pack and return original monitor and they would then send a replacement. It is assured they don’t have 4 Hex screws in stock or open a new monitor box and send these screws. All great inconvenience and unhelpful to me a the customer.
I thought StarTech meant quality... I was wrong
Spent over £2000 in products to put together 2 cabinets, I couldn't ever have expected such low QC... Two of the four £100 shelves arrived damaged (production defects) and they blamed the currier despite the packaging was pristine. Ironically, in the same delivery there were some "chinese" products too, none of them had any defects, quite the selective currier. Furthermore, the cabinets had wrong size screws included and after about a week I'm still waiting for these to even be dispatched! I went to BnQ and sort it myself, which isn't the end of the world of course, but simply this is not what you'd expect by going with what I thought it was a premium product. Great sign of QC here too.
Other cable guides had all the retaining screws wonky and badly cross threaded.
I've emailed CS and then started a call, they immediately wanted my phone number in case the line dropped, well the line did drop but no-one called back...
First and last time looking at their products.
Very poor system
Very poor system, in a word; fraud. There was some display issue in my laptop, so I took it into a Star tech servicing centre. They had to just change the display. But while changing the display, they broke my laptop. Now they are refusing to take any responsibility. How ridiculous!!
Totally Fraud. I expected better from them, but alas! They disappointed me.
Worst customer service and products…
Worst customer service and products ever made, I’m 100% sure these are Chinese products from alibaba and not operated by Canadians, they simply repackaged it, as the products will not work as advertised either. Also with their “restocking fee”, even if the customer hadn’t received that product and was returned to sender, then when you request for a refund, they reserve the “right” for a restocking fee of 20%. Restocking fees should be illegal and considered as extortion, as most customer would try to avoid taking a loss on such fees to retain the product, therefore that is an extortion fee and these guys prides themselves on such method of profiteering. Disgusting!

Tech Support
Customer service (Tech Support) is tremendous!!!! I received excellent support via chat about an item I had purchased and had a problem connecting!!!
POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND COMPLETELY LACKING INTEGRITY IN ITS DEALINGS WITH CUSTOMERS!
Poor customer service and completely lacking integrity!: Rang them early today for additional pre purchase product information and to discuss potential concerns concerning my personal intended use of the particular product concerned. The customer service person who said his name was Stuart/Stewart, (sp.?), was obviously just going through the motions and was officious, lacking proper concern and empathy and almost entirely unhelpful, leaving me in the situation as he advocated of trying the product and returning it to the seller if it did not satisfactorily meet my requirements, instead of giving me the information I needed, in doing so referring to my intended seller, Amazon having a very good returns policy! Obviously I was ringing them to try to prevent unnecessary problems for myself with this purchase and an unnecessary return to the seller! I had great difficulty trying to get what apeared to be the reliable information I needed from this person and to try to counteract this I had felt obliged to quote other people's apparent reasons for the same concerns as myself from their reviews of the same Startech product I was looking to buy relating to the adequacy or otherwise of the manufacturer's included power supply which seems inadequate on a rating basis; although advertised as tested by the manufacturer in excess of my intended usage this usage in itself would appear to draw arguably too much power for reliable operation but this customer service person unfortunately did not seem to adequately know what he was talking about in not properly understanding or relating to my definitely very real concerns! Being reminded of a previous bad customer service situation from Startech concerning a previous different Startech product and being similarly treated but having ended up in an even worse seriously negative situation entirely of Startech's causation because of wrong product description followed by inadequate after sales support having actually purchased that particular product, I politely expressed my concerns over the way Startech treats it's customers and potential customers as in this case today. Things then turned nasty on his part, so I then said his allegation then made of my having been talking against him was untrue as could be confirmed from listening to the call, and i wanted to complain about him, and asked him for his name, given above, as he had then told me they are not allowed to give surnames when I asked him for that! He then told me my complaint would be passed to either a or his manager, I am not certain now afterwards whether he had actually said to a or his manager at the time, but this is obviously not material, before he then said he was ending the call as it was going nowhere! The circumstances of this complaint and the complaint itself being anything like properly dealt with cannot at all be trusted and relied upon as no identity or contact details whatsoever had been taken from me prior to him ending the call, nor were or are otherwise available to Startech in order to process such complaint, making it absalutely and completely impossible for such complaint to be dealt with at all with such complete anonymity on my side concerning my conversation with him, so going by this experience unfortunately a firm with absalutely zero integrity in it's dealings with customers or potential customers!
