Stanford Medical Centre: A Rudderless Bureaucracy

Time means absolutely nothing at Stanford Medical Centre. Their administrative process runs at HALF the speed of smell because upper management apparently does not care.

I've been working for over six weeks to get approval and treatment. A key decision maker was expected to review my application and make a decision within one week. It took him four weeks, after multiple phone calls to his staff to shake the tree. (He cannot be reached.)

Now there are EVEN MORE approvals needed including insurance verification. They've had my insurance information since July 14th -- what have they been doing with it??

Everyone I've spoken to at Stanford has been *VERY* nice, without a doubt. But I'm no closer to the help that I'm seeking than when I started this C/F in early July. Stanford Medical is just an ordinary, rudderless bureaucracy.

Don’t get excited by the Stanford name.
