unacceptable drop in quality
My Windhager pellet burner has in recent months begun to require more and more cleaning. It has pumped foul smelling putrid week old wet ashtray like smells into the house and acrid smoke billowing out of the chimney - much to the consternation of our neighbours. We can't sleep downstairs anymore as we wake up smelling like we slept next to a bunch of burning wet logs and end up with a sore throat and itching eyes. In the last 3 days the burner has tripped out the electricity to the entire house in ignition phase. Conteq (the only pellet burner technicians left it seems) came today to try and fix the problem. The Conteq technician was categorical in his diagnosis of the problem: VERY BAD QUALITY WOOD PELLETS. He was in no doubt that the recent deliveries of wood pellets from stampemøllen were so below par that they had actively damaged the 'brandskovl' and caused the burner to overheat so drastically that it cuts out the electric up to 4 times daily. It will cost me upwards of 4.000 kr to fix the burner. It's simply NOT acceptable. In the meantime I have a half pallet of useless pellets and I need to invest in better ones... if they can be found! EXTREMELY IRRITATING AND FRUSTRATING SITUATION.
