Great App for International Calling.

I knew about Sonetel Application for the last 4-5 years this time for personal use I registered for myself and I had a seamless experience, I would suggest everybody to try giving this Application a try for sure.

Straight-forward service with a smile

I did run into a problem with my account due to an unusual use pattern from my side. The account was temporarily suspended, but a short series of email exchanges with Priya Behera, the customer agent I did get in contact with, solved this problem with a short series of emails. I did enjoy this smart and kind support and will be happy to remain a customer in the future.

The Sonetel team is very professional

The Sonetel team is very professional and they are responsive to their clients very well during their office hours and their helpline number with robotic assistance is available every time. They follow are the legal rules and then verify you before providing the services and also inform you that what are the options if your operation isn't successful. My experience with Sonetel app is very little yet. However, the calls are diverted to my local number successfully. I'm still confuse about the sms. I think they told me that the sms go to our email inbox associated with our account. And I don't know what about sending an sms. Maybe there's am option available.
Recommended for light weight businesses.

NOT SKYPE ALTERNATIVE

Tried to use this as an alternative to Skype. Agent kept pushing that it was just the same. It wasn't until they leeched $120 and took my Skype number that I learned their service is NOTHING like Skype. The unlimited calling plan was a flat out lie. I got the service because I needed it, and it never worked because it required an additonal balance to cover the 70 CENTS A MINUTE CHARGE. In additon, the app was almost always frozen and never working, and the website would never load. To add the cherry on top, my account was hacked, I could no longer get access, and some scammer managed to try and charge my account instead. Absolute trash service!!!!

Problems on laptop

This system does not work well on a Windows 11. When making a call there is no indication that the call is going through until the other person answers. And there is no way to hang up at the end of the call. Very frustrating.

I have been asked to give more details on my use of Sonetel on a Windows-11 laptop:

When using Sonetel on Windows-11, I want to make a call. I click on “Calls” and see some previous numbers called. The numbers are displayed with a green phone icon to the left of each number and another phone icon to the right of each. The to the left has an arrow that looks like it will make a call to that number.

I click on the icon to the left of a number.

The result is that there is no change on the screen – all stays static. There is no sound, no dial tone, no ring, nothing. And there is no obvious way to hang up. I hear nothing.

The person on the other end of the call tells me that it rings, she answers, may even hear me but I never hear a sound and still have no way to hang up.

If the person at the other end does not answer, the call goes to voicemail. Still, I hear nothing, and with no way to hang up, my call apparently stays on their voicemail for a long time.

When she does answer, but there is no connection, she calls me back on my Australian Sonetel number and it works. It rings on my US phone and the connection is good. That part works great.

When I make the call, it seems like Sonetel cannot use the speaker on my laptop. Why?

Why is there no obvious way to hang up a call, whether it’s successful or not.

A second problem, I have found no way to update my contacts. The people I call most are not in my contacts, and there is no obvious way to add them.
