Easy booking. 3rd time I’ve used Solmar. FAQs are extensive and informative.
Recently been to Cala n Porter - villa can quiche which was as described, clean and and close to centre. Lovely walk down but hard coming back up. I have just booked another villa in the same resort with Solmar.

Holiday Helpline is HOPELESS!!
I was far from happy with the support received from Solmar Holiday Helpline. I initially called the helpline upon arrival at the villa and after holding on was eventually put through to an answerphone. I left my phone number for them to return the call --- but sadly none came. A consequence was having no hot water in a bathroom over the weekend. A follow up call on Monday resulted in getting some support, but did Solmar follow up to see if problem was solved? No.
The same happened again the following day regarding an AC issue.
Midway through the holiday the cleaners came to change all bedsheets and left with a bed having sheets fitted which were far too small. So another uncomfortable weekend was encountered, with sheets that were far too small! Monday next came & finally a call from Scott, in resort support was taken to see if the sheets problem had been solved!! The correct size were finally fitted after he interjected. I took the opportunity to have a moan at him about the support i had (not) received and guess what? A text message came through shortly afterwards asking if the previous days AC problem had been solved. Haha, it was only 1 week out of date - how embarrassing!!
Bottom line: Through the helpline incompetence we were disadvantaged over 2 weekends! THANK HEAVENS WE DIDN'T HAVE A REAL MAJOR ISSUE!! Not at all impressed!

Nothing was too much trouble
The booking was easy and quick. There was a slight issue with the flights which Lewis sorted quickly and kept in constant communication with me about this 😁! This is our first experience booking with solmar and so far ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Booking with Solmar villas was easy
Booking with Solmar villas was easy. We chose the villa at last minute, booking just a week before we were due to leave. We chose to book flights and the villa as a package. I booked our seats on the plane. Within 10 minutes of booking I received a phonecall to inform us that our chosen seats were not available but our Solmar advisor helped us to book some alternative seats which was not an issue at all. They informed me to download the app and should we need them they directed us on where to get hold of them.
I was instructed by text a couple of days before our departure, of the key code to get into the villa.
Villa Isabel in Pollensa could certainly do with some minor upgrades and there was a couple of issues that could have been improved but this did not affect our holiday.

A/C not working
A/C not working. Bits of bills not finished. Decking outside in poor condition. Sunbeds very tired and old. Garden area overgrown. Fridge shelf broken. Showers dirty and moldy. General state of repair poor. Extremely disappointing. Had to move to another villa on 3rd day losing significant time on our holiday and inconvenience.

Booked a whole package holiday with Solmar villas, very easy to navigate the website. Lots of flights available so easy to change to what is more convenient or cheaper, Solmar also keep a check on prices so you know you have the cheapest price before you accept the final price.
I did have a query after booking and used the phone line, I didn't wait too long to speak to a member of the team called Charlie, she was very professional and friendly, and answered my question easily.

Solmar Villas - Thoroughly Recommended!
I would thoroughly reccomend Solmar Villas, easy to deal with, great sevice and very responsive when queries arose. Booked a villa and flights - great experience and friction free.
Stayed at Villa Pletessa Nova near Cala D'or.
Very nearly perfect....the villa is huge and very well appointed, all appliances and facilities are modern and well maintained, lovely gardens, but a few things let the side down.
50% of the lights don't work; loads of in floor uplighters (like 20!) and only one of which works.
There are two outdoor lights which did work but were on a two minute timer which was dangerous as you couldn't see in the dark when navigating outside.
The jacuzzi next to the pool was on a 70 second timer, low rent and this level of cost control was not commensurate with the broader villa experience.
For the sake of a couple of Euros increase the timers.
The pool wasn't maintained at all during our ten day stay.
The "gardener" was turning up every other day to get his Golf GTI out of the garage under the villa. He turned up in his van, got his car out and drove off for a few hours then returned. Intrusive and slightly odd. We had to tell him to stop after his third visit.
The lady owner was a lovely lady, who we met once.
Only small tweaks required to make this place perfect.

Misleading and very old pictures of villa advertised
For our joint 50th we booked a 'Superior' Villa at Aphrodite Hills via Sussex Travel who directed us to the details of a villa advertised on Solmar Villas website.
We were greeted by a giant cockroach inside and a dead one in one of the bedrooms. It soon became apparent that the pictures of the villa from the website were years and years old. Instead of a gleaming new villa it was dated and tatty. The outside shower hadn't been cleaned for god knows how long with green and brown grime all over it. The walls by the pool were covered in bird pooh (yes birds pooh but it hadn't been cleaned for quite some time).
Whilst Solmar state we could enjoy 'refreshing air-conditioning' what they don't tell you is that you'll be greeted with a note stating that you'll be charged extra if you use it 'excessively' without any explanation of what they consider excessive ie how many hours if at all can i have it on at night etc. god forbid for 5 grand out of peak season that you use the air conditioning too much for their liking.
It was things like they stated it had a 'fully fitted kitchen' yet didn't have a proper knife for chopping or any bbq tools that again showed that no care had been put into the property which was supposed to be 'superior' ie not cheap at all. I imagine as there was a sold sign up against the property that the owners didn't care what happened to it although they were still happy taking people's money.
We soon discovered pooling water in one of the bathrooms and thought this might be from the shoddy shower screen but no it was a leak from under the bath. After a few days of bashing damp loving cockroaches we had had enough and reported it to the resort who to their credit moved us to a nice villa, without cockroaches, for the rest of the holiday.
I complained when we returned and asked that they stop misleading customers with the pictures on their website. They stated they would reply within the 28 days allowed. Today is day 28. They have not replied nor made any effort to say why not.

Solmar Villa
Last minute let-down
We’ll never use Solmar again. We booked a large villa in Portugal for 13 of us in June 2025 for an August 2026 holiday. 16 days before our holiday was due to start, we got an email advising us that the villa was no longer available to us due to building works happening outside the villa. They could only offer us 2 villas 20 minutes’ walk apart which wasn’t acceptable, we’re 3 families who booked a large villa so we could all be together including young children. Building works don’t appear overnight, and villa owners normally notify agents well in advance. Solmar, I’ve since found out, often only informs customers late in the process, sometimes within 2–3 weeks of departure, which is what happened to us. As we’d booked our flights independently, they probably assume we’ll take whatever dregs are left in the form of their ‘left-over’ villas if they delay telling people about cancellations until that late in the day. I’m still waiting for my refund… Never again!

Not what it seems.
We recently stayed at Baby Villa Limone in Trapezaki, Kefalonia. Although the villas was beautiful and we had a lovely time. Solmar are advertising this a a One Bedroom Villa when in fact it is a studio. The pool is no longer an infinity pool as there is an Olive Tree covered in Ivy blocking 3/4 of the view when you are in the pool. The large villa next door is very close and we had a very rowdy family staying there, so the villas is not always a great peaceful couples getaway. The villa is also on an unkept lane so certainly not suitable for those who are unsteady on their feet. Luckily that is not the case for us. We would not stay at this property again but will definitely be visiting Kefalonia again. It is stunning.
