My 8 year old Solidor door began to split and as my installer had gone bust I contacted Solidor who instead of dealing direct put me on to CWG Services a trade supplier. They I must say were excellent... See more

The door is beautiful. It closes perfectly. Our problem lies and why I only gave it 3 stars is in the glass. The door arrived wrapped in bubble wrap and covered in plastic so it was stored along with the glass for our windows in our garden until we were ready to fit them. When we unpacked the door there were two pressure cracks across the middle of the glass. Neither the supplier nor manufacturer will accept responsibility so we are left with a damaged door. Very disappointing and unacceptable.

We have been using Solidor for over 15 years and are an approved installer of their range. Having been in the industry for over 30 years, I am very selective about the products and manufacturers we choose to work with, and Solidor has consistently proven to be a reliable choice.
Solidor rely on approved retail installers to fit their products correctly and to the required standards, which is key to how the doors perform long term. When issues do arise, Solidor work with us to support the customer and resolve matters properly, which is exactly what you want from a manufacturer.
They control their manufacturing process, resulting in a solid, well engineered product with a strong focus on security, performance, and longevity. The build quality and finish stand out compared to many composite doors on the market.
We currently have five Solidor doors on display in our Orpington showroom, and they remain one of the most popular options with customers.
Overall, a well made, secure product backed by a manufacturer we have trusted for many years.

At first we were delighted with our new porch, set off by a Solidor composite door. Unfortunately although it is described as “designed for life” it hasn’t lived up to this expectation. First we had to have a replacement letterbox as the metal plate was faulty. Next the lead strips in the design peeled off and needed replacement. Then we suffered water ingress into the porch, ruining the carpet. The bottom half of the door bowed out gradually over the last year or so until we can now barely shut the door. We reached out to our supplier who wrote to you. We clearly didn’t flag it up in time as the guarantee has now run out. We expected an expensive door by a market leader to last longer than this. Our Solidor front door is still going strong and is older than this one, but protected by the elements. I can only advise that Solidor doors are not fit for purpose if used as an outer door, facing the elements.
Even though slightly out of guarantee, I am disappointed Solidor couldn’t help the customer in a goodwill gesture.

Had a door fitted in October, when it rains it leaks water into letterbox which is now running down front of door and is rust coloured and actually staining door ,been in contact with solidor they don’t want to know, said to me it’s the fitters problem ,no it’s not they didn’t make the door solidor did ,the company who fitted it haven’t come back either,so I would beware about buying a solidor if they don’t honour there warranty, next stop trading standards and fensa

We had a Solidor fitted by Excelsior Windows (one of their approved fitters), June 2023.
The door began to bow and was difficult to open / lock in Decemeber 2023.
Took a whole year of chasing both Solidor and Excelsior until they finally replaced the door in Feb 2025, the same issue started again in November 2025 and I've been chasing both since without any luck again.
Very disapointed and frustrated, suggest people take a look at all the other reviews before giving them any business.

I haven't had reason to contact Solidor yet (I hope I never do) but as far as the door goes we are well impressed, it looks great and although it has (as expected it might) bowed a tiny little bit during acclimatisation the seal on it is (also as we were told it would be) still 100%.
As for the review, it is not really appropriate that you judge Solidor on this as the door has only been in for a couple of months. Perhaps (If trust pilot allows it) in a year or two I will do an edit and give you a more valuable review.

Door looks good but a cold gale is blowing in around the lock. Installers have been back to adjust but no improvement.

Unfortunately for me my solidor isn't the quality I expected, it's 7 years old and it has started to delaminate which is very sad and I'm so upset, the first thing people see when they look at my house is the door and I often had compliments on how beautiful it is, unfortunately this is not the case anymore. Unsure if I'd recommend these doors for durability and long lasting, maybe look elsewhere.

The door looks and feels really secure, and was fitted very professionally.

I can’t fault the installation or the installers.

I am very happy with my new porch door and surrounding frame with glazing either side of the door. It looks amazing.

Appears very well made, is solid and seals appear effective. Locks and furniture appear to be of highest quality
