Two stars because until today I was a loyal long term customer. I also missed the return window by 3 days so I am stuck with a gift card instead of a credit to my Mastercard. I will try to sell my gift card. I will never shop Softmoc again. Most of their stock is available all over the place. 30 days after Christmas is not enough time. My purchase was December 24, 2022. I will never recommend this company again. You and your management don’t havyhearts. Obviously short term monoid more valuable than long term customers.
My husband bought me winter boots for Christmas, they were too small. I was a couple days past the 30 day return policy because I didn't want to fight boxing day crowds, they refused refund. Gave me a credit only. I then bought another pair at the soft moc store using the credit note, but later found a better pair in a different store. I then wanted to return the 2nd pair (only a few days later), and, you guessed it, NO refund. Credit only. Forevermore. Store policy. I argued, to no avail. Both pairs were brand new, never worn, tags still on. My husband will use the credit and we will never shop there again. Check Better Business Bureau's rating. D+, unresolved claims. They are NOT BBB Accredited! BBB customer ratings is ONE STAR!
Went into the store in mic mac mall(Dartmouth NS) to buy a pair of shoes today, couldnt get anyone to get me the size I needed so I waited in the line to the cash registers for 20 mins and asked the lady if she could find me the size I needed.She came out with the size I asked for then said I should try them on, after I tried them on I said yes I will take them. She then told me I would have to go to the back of the line if I wanted to buy them.I said thats crazy I just waited 20 mins in that line and said I dont have time to wait again. She said ok and took the shoes back and I left. Terrible customer service,I wont be back
If I could I would have put no stars.... Lack of experience big time. They think they are trained properly for product defect but not. Using your hand or hands does not qualify proper manufacturer defect inspections. Also head office customer service not trained properly and professionally. They don't help customers and give out wrongful info. Then reports on file wrong notes and adds different info that was not even mentioned. Never again shopping there. They have lost a long time and very loyal honest customer.

Ordered boots online. They were sent via UPS. UPS courier went to wrong building twice. Softmoc customer service would not rectify, said I had to call UPS. Called UPS several times, was assured package was in local warehouse. UPS did not return my call as promised for re-delivery, but sent back to Softmoc. Then Softmoc only offered me 20% off next purchase. I asked for boots to be sent via another courier, & a full refund. They said they would send another pair, but would not refund anything. Will refund original pair when return received via UPS. I spent hours on phone & online trying to rectify with UPS & Softmoc, received absolutely no consideration for my trouble. Don't bother doing business with this company. They do not care about their customers.
Ordered a pair of sandals, 130$ before taxes. Tried them on when they arrived by mail, too big even though my size!! Wore them 2 minutes, TOO BIG. They returned them back to me saying they were worn. Wrote to explain, nope, they maintain the shoes were worn and that is that!! Soft moc customer service is completely useless. The delivery driver has my package but simply won’t deliver it nor respond to their requests to do so. Soft moc customer service will not issue a refund despite proof the package is with the driver and he won’t respond. To them. They say it is a customer policy to allow the driver 3 days to respond but they guarantee delivery within 24 hours. Absolutely unacceptable that they won’t refund my money for something they can not provide. They will not modify the order to have me pick it up in store and they won’t rectify the situation whatsoever. They are holding my money and my package hostage while they sort out an employee issue that has nothing to do with me.

We went into the Mayfair location to exchange defective Vans that were less then 3 months old. (Side glue was giving way and fabric was ripping).
The “manager” said she couldn’t/wouldn’t exchange them as defective even though she agreed they were defective. Her reasoning, they are dirty. She then told us if we were unhappy we could go to a more experienced store manager. So we went to the Hillside location where we were man-splained to after wait 20 minutes to speak with the manager who refused to step out of the back room.
Even the customer service manger gave no f&c*s and just tried to rush us off the phone.
This is not our first terrible experience with Soft Moc but it most definitely will be the last.

OK... in a world where we've all come to miss truly good customer service... Softmoc has really taken poor customer service to the next level.
I shopped at the Mayfair Mall location in Victoria BclC today and if really really bad customer service were an Olympic sport... all of the staff at this location would have gold medals galore hanging around their neck.
Not one of them seemed to actually wanted to be there. We had to ask someone for help and when we did... truly well executed eye rolls came next. We actually felt bad for interrupting whatever it was they were doing that I guess passes for work there.
It's not like they were busy either. Mid morning on a Tuesday and maybe 3 people in the store including myself an my wife at one time. But they didn't let that get in their way of making us wait seemingly needlessly.
Whomever owns this store really needs to do a lean sweep and hire some staff that actually like working with people. The folks we encountered today would be best suited for solitary work where making people feel appreciated wasn't a requirement for a successful business.
Sadly, the product I wanted, they had it so I suffered the indignity of shopping there but if you're someone who likes to be treated with a smile and a friendly disposition, Softmoc at Mayfair Mall is definitely to be avoided.
DO NOT PAY for faster delivery. They'll take your money and deliver late anyway!!!
I found out something very disturbing about this employer during a job interview. According to the hiring manager, they pay their employees less than minimum wage. According to the hiring manager they do this claiming that employees can earn a 1% commission on the shoes they sell.

Worst company to deal with. I spent extra money on shipping to ensure that I had the shoes that were needed for a birthday gift and now they will be 5 days late which is in their time frame for free shipping. Called them and all they can offer me is 20% off coupon code. Ridiculous. I will never shop with them. They won't let you talk. Talk over you. Horrible customer service
I purchased a pair of Birkenstock sandals. They were uncomfortable from the start but I was told thats normal. The salesgirl told me to wear them indoors in my house for a bit each day, and if they were still not comfortable to return them if I didnt wear them outside. I did this. I wore them 5 minutes a day for 3 days and they were like walking on rocks. I know with Birkenstocks it takes time to wear them in, but I didnt want to continue to try as I knew they were not for me. I tried to return them and was told they were really worn! I was floored! Really worn? NO. As with Birks, the moment you wear them for 2 or 3 minutes you can see an imprint for the footbed as its cork. Even the ones you try on in the store, the moment you wear them and walk around you can see where your toes are. they would not take them back. I am now stuck with $180 sandals I can't wear. When buying I specifically expressed this concern to the sales person, and shea again reaffirmed me that if they dont work and I didnt wear them outside they would take them back. I feel totally liked to and taken advantage of, just for them to get a sale. They have lost a good customer. NEVER again will I give another dime to this company. I even have a email from Birkenstock directly saying how impeccable the condition of the shoes is, and they can't understand why Softmoc won't take them back. I reached out to customer service via phone and instead of seeing pictures, they called the store and just took the managers word for it. I tried customer support online and was told I could "try a different store" to see if they would take them back. The next store is 1.5 hours round trip for me. DISGUSTING SERVICE.
The customer service was atrocious at the Richmond Centre location. I was not greeted by any of the workers, despite there being only two other customers who were browsing without assistance. The staff were too busy doing inventory and/or stuffing boxes to offer assistance to the living humans in the store. I had to stand directly in front of the desk STARING at them for way too long before they acknowledged me. When I finally got help, the worker was rude and short tempered and stayed behind the counter. She told me to try on the store model and basically shoved it into my hands and got frustrated whenever I needed her to repeat something. She also made a backhanded comment about the size of my feet. Pretty unnecessary if you ask me. I did end up finding a pair of shoes I liked but she never once looked up or asked how I was doing so I left. It was a very disappointing experience.
I will not shop at softmoc shoes again. I purchased a pair of shoes in Nov 2019 which were not exactly the size I was looking for but told to take them home and try them a little inside my house and if they did not work there would be no problem for refund/exchange. COVID hit before I had a chance to return my shoes, however I called the store before the 90 days from purchase was up and was told no problem and to bring back for exchange when COVID is over or I feel comfortable to go into store. COVID is not over yet and due to my health I am not going out much as of yet. I went into the mall for first time to exchange my shoes and was told no. The initial person I was speaking to talked to me like I was a person, however, the senior person or manager that was there was very rude and completely not helpful. I called customer service today and was told they could not help me as the store did not call it in to them when I had called the store initially. It is very upsetting to me when companies do not back up what their stores are doing….. how was I supposed to know to make sure it was called in and logged at customer service? I will not shop at this store again….. not that they care.
