A Construction Nightmare: A Warning Against SnapSpace Solutions
Short summary and a piece of advice: SnapSpace solutions seems like a great company until you pay them and/or a problem with their work surfaces (whichever happens first). Stay away and don't pay them a penny. Don't trust a word Dexter or Chad tell you! Failure to honor their own agreement within 6 months of building completion (leaking from the entry door and 2 windows). Red Flags everywhere. I wish I can attach images and video of their "work"/damage here (Search online for more information and evidence of their messy, irresponsible, dangerous practices).
I ordered a container house from Snapspace Solutions, but what followed was an absolute disaster. Within six months of installation, both the door and a window began to leak. Multiple local carpenters confirmed what I suspected: the doors and windows were improperly installed without any flashing. It was only a matter of time before all the windows and doors would start leaking, causing extensive damage to the door, window frame, and even the solid oak board flooring.
Desperate for a resolution, I reached out to Snapspace, providing video evidence and pictures of the issues. However, instead of acknowledging their mistakes, they pushed back, blaming the quality of the windows I had provided and suggesting that I should have waited for completion before experiencing any issues during winter. But the truth is, these brand new, high-quality windows were never questioned until I reported the leaks.
Four experienced carpenters unanimously agreed that relying on a single line of caulk/silicone was woefully inadequate, especially considering the expansion and contraction in a temperate climate. It was a ticking time bomb waiting to cause more damage.
After much back-and-forth, SnapSpace reluctantly agreed to send their contractor to assess and resolve the problem. They promised a visit within 3-4 days. However, a week passed with no follow-up and no contractor. When I urgently stressed the active leaks during rainfall, they responded rudely, suggesting I either wait or handle the issue myself.
Three weeks later, there was still no update, and Snapspace stopped responding to my attempts to contact them. It became evident that they either sent the contractor and chose to ignore the costly repairs, considering them too expensive to address, or they simply decided to disregard the matter altogether. They probably assumed that in a worst-case scenario, where legal action was taken (though unlikely), they would only have to pay the same amount.
Snapspace Solutions has shown a complete lack of accountability, professionalism, and customer service throughout this ordeal. I strongly advise against choosing them for any construction needs. Their negligent installation practices and dismissive attitude towards customer concerns can lead to significant financial and structural consequences. Avoid this company at all costs!
