I realised I had left it a bit late to renew my ISA and then got into difficulties online. I was lucky enough to be connected to a staff member who was very helpful and patient.

I used the chat service and whether or not Amelia is a real person or a chatbot (I rather hope she is real) she was able to provide exactly the help I needed.

I am disgusted this is the second time Skipton have let me down. The first one was when I purchased my property I spent weeks moving monies so they would be ready for the completion date, only to find that they would NOT pay the solicitors as they did not have my name?! They will only release money to an account in your own name. I tried to log into the app on my new phone but received a message saying I had not completed my set up. It listed the old phone number to receive this one off code. Now I have just tried to change my telephone number online as I have a new phone/mobile number and find out that I cannot complete that either without visiting a branch with ID or writing a letter to them! I logged into my account via their website and found that out on their online chat. I am virtually housebound and live in a rural location. I am amazed they would not be able to change my telephone number despite me knowing all my log in details and security questions. If I wasn't tied in on a 3 year ISA I would have transferred my monies to a different bank/building society.

I went to the Croydon Skipton to sort out my late husbands account . The service was pleasant helpful and efficient . I left feeling reassured .

On the chat facility the member of staff helped me open a new account and explained how to do it and was very patient with me

Thought we had found a company that we could trust and be confident in, how wrong were we, wanted to open a Joint Account, had to wait 3 weeks for an appointment ( money review) which was too long, unfortunately had to rearrange, phoned Head Office to inform the Branch and the woman was incredibly unhelpful, travelled to the Branch the next day at our inconvenience, there was no appointment on their computer!! Even though we had the confirmation leaflet in our hands, then offered a video call appointment instead of face to face, no thanks, we’ll invest our money with a company that does a lot better initially and will value us as customers.
