They also have a quick-response in case you need additional help, so do not hesitate to try it out and make it part of your job search process. I really enjoy using SkillSyncer. It feels it has more granular control over targeting your resume with the assistance of AI. I have used Jobscan, and although it’s a great product, it’s bullet generator just revise what you have already typed. With SkillSyner, you can select 5 keywords to generate a bullet you may need help with. This is game changing for me, especially when trying to translate my military experience.

UPDATE:
The founder reached out to me and got my refund processed. He took some time to address my issue with "unsophisticated and arbitrary" keywords in my original review below and helped me understand better how SkillSyncer's keywords accurately reflect what ATS systems look for.

I'm improving my rating based on what I believe was a mature response to correct an initial misstep with their refund process. The premium resume tool is still not for me in it's current form (mainly due to my personal experience with their live edit tool being very time-consuming), but I would consider taking another look in the future when the product has grown a bit more.

ORIGINAL REVIEW:
I'm unhappy with the company's premium plan resume tools and their customer service. Many of their keyword suggestions didn't make sense and there was no way to mark them as N/A so they wouldn't affect my match score, basically rendering their match score useless as I tried to reach their target of 80% match. Additionally, the way their "live editor" tool works leaves a ton of manual effort on your plate. You basically end up having to rewrite your resume bullets from scratch if your trying to incorporate their keyword suggestions due to the strictness they impose around using the exact phrasing of their keywords. I don't know if that's how ATS systems really work when they scan a resume, but it seemed pretty unsophisticated and arbitrary to me to have to type in the multi-word keywords exactly as shown in the suggestions.

Despite all the above, SkillSyncer would still merit a higher score if not for their policies around the premium plan. They do not provide a trial for you to see what you are buying into when you sign up for premium beforehand. If I had been able to see these features ahead of time, I never would have spent the money.

But, most egregious of all, is that they have no satisfaction guarantee / refund policy if you don't like the tool. I think not having a satisfaction guarantee shows their lack of confidence in the product. I feel dumb for not noticing that beforehand, but I was in a hurry to get a resume submitted and didn't look for their refund policy beforehand. I signed up for a 3-month subscription, used the premium features on only one resume, then asked for my money back when I was not happy with the features. They responded saying they don't normally give refund but occasionally make exceptions, then they asked me for more detail about what I didn't like about it. I think good companies with quality products have a no-questions-asked money-back guarantee; they don't need to make their refund process uncertain ("might" give a refund) and difficult (you need to give us more details before we will consider maybe giving you a refund), like SkillSyncer has for me.

TL;DR: I wouldn't recommend the premium plan to anyone. It's features are unsophisticated and don't really save you time (although they likely will improve your resume match quality). They also did not provide me a refund for my 3-month subscription even though I used the premium features only once before informing them I was unhappy with the tools.

I have been casually looking for new employment options for 6 months. I have tweaked, sweated, and cried over every edit, punctuation, and formatting option on my resume for months. I applied to about 15 different roles that I was interested in, but over qualified for, and have heard nothing from anyone acknowledging that I am being considered. Skill Syncer has been a crucial resource for transitioning service members as they embark on the challenge to enter the civilian community. Absolutely horrible. Pulls words that have nothing to do with the actual job, and ignores key skills and experiences. It can't even find the job title half of the time. Tells you to add skill and then tells you it's bringing no value to the resume. What a waste of time and money and they say that they offer no refunds. Stay away from this one.

Update: So, they say they offer refunds within 7 days. I contacted them 2 days after purchasing and was told sorry, we don't offer any refunds. Sadly, I missed the deadline to respond to them.

I was a bit skeptical at first, but after giving it a try I must say that this is a game changer! I was recently part of a huge comapny lay-off and had put my resume out there. Although I know I have the experience and the knowledge, unless you know a lot of people personally at several different companies, it can be difficult to get your resume through the system successfully. Now that most resumes go through ATS, regardless of your skills and experience, the system can place you in the reject pile within minutes if you don’t have those certain “keywords“. SkillSyncer not only shows you the keywords to use, but provides the number of times that keyword is used in the job description, the ones that are considered hard skills and which ones are soft skills. I was extremely impressed with the dashboard provided. Amazing stuff! Without the use of the website, I was receiving requests for interviews every other week or two. Since using this service, I now have 3 requests for interviews in the same week. It’s now allowed ME to pick who I want to work for rather than choosing something because my choices are limited.
