Lost my luggage in Business Class
Having always heard how good Singapore Airlines was I booked Business Class at huge expense to visit my daughter in Melbourne from the UK..
The flight was fine and the attendants great but they’ve now lost my hold luggage meaning I’ve nothing to wear in this different Australian climate- nor any shoes.
Customer services at SA is useless and refers you to an outfit called Dnata- which roughly in Spanish means think nothing of it- which is entirely apt as they don’t think at all about helping get back lost luggage!
Very disappointed in this once fine airline
“Best airline in Asia”? Not in my experience
Singapore Airlines claims to be the best airline in Asia, but my experience on 29 January 2025 from London to Saigon via Singapore was extremely disappointing.
I had almost three hours of transit in Singapore, yet one of my checked bags was still delayed. I checked in two suitcases — one arrived in Saigon, while the other, containing my summer clothes, skincare, and haircare, did not. I was left in a hot, unfamiliar city without my basic essentials and had to go out and buy replacements just to get through the first days of my trip.
What made this worse was how Singapore Airlines handled it afterward. When I emailed them to ask for an explanation and compensation for the items I had to purchase, they simply forwarded my email to the Saigon airport lost and found department, instead of taking responsibility or providing proper customer support. There was no apology, no clear guidance, and no assistance — just being passed around.
For an airline that promotes itself as a premium, world-class carrier, this level of service is unacceptable. Losing or delaying luggage can happen, but how an airline handles the situation shows its true quality — and Singapore Airlines failed badly in this case.
Lost luggage
I am extremely disappointed with Singapore Airlines’ handling of my luggage on flight SQ231 from Frankfurt to Sydney on 5 February. My checked bag was lost upon arrival, and so far I have received no update about its location, delivery timeline, or any meaningful follow-up from the airline.
This is the first time I have experienced such a situation, and it has been both stressful and frustrating, especially after a long international journey. I expected much better communication and customer care from a premium airline like Singapore Airlines.

I am deeply disappointed with the handling of my delayed baggage by Singapore Airlines.
My checked-in baggage has been missing for over 4 days. Although I was repeatedly told that the bag had arrived and was “under processing,” I received no clear ETA, no proactive communication, and no delivery.
Critically, this baggage contains essential medication for my elderly parents, who have been without their prescribed medicines since 31 January 2026. This serious matter was communicated multiple times, yet the airline failed to act with urgency.
The experience caused:
Significant mental stress
Health risk to elderly passengers
Loss of trust in the airline’s service standards
For an airline known for service excellence, this is far below expectations. I strongly urge Singapore Airlines to take accountability and improve how critical baggage cases are handled.
Rubbish Airlines
Cons:
1) Food is garbage like someone vomited it out.
2) Call centre is also garbage: you will not get anything done.
3) Movie is hard to forward.
4) Played loud rubbish song throughout flight like mind control commie
Pros:
Nice & friendly onboard staff
Flight cancelled Singapore Care factor - Zero
A family group of 4 booked a 14day tour of sri Lanka flying from Perth WA. We chose Singapore airlines which was more expensive but thought it would be a smoother trip with only 12 hour flight. We booked well-in advance. 3 months before our departure we get notification of flight change, now our flight would be 24hrs long with 10hrs stop over in Singapore. I argued this was not acceptable and instead of arriving at 9:30am we now arrive 11:15pm and lose a whole day of our tour. They couldn’t care less! Offered to fly us Perth, Sydney,Singapore then Colombo. Still more than 24 hours flying and no idea why I wouldn’t want to fly Perth to Sydney then to Singapore. After asking for some compensation such as point or lounge access the only option offered was a later flight from Perth and still arriving very late at night and missing a day touring. Very disappointed with their lack of care or understanding when dealing with a flight they have cancelled. Their reputation has been greatly diminished in our eyes for customer service. Hopefully the flight itself will be better!
Singapore Airlines..
Singapore Airlines... What can I say, they may be great with their service for first class, other classes, but, oh my word, if you are a poor pleb like me that can only afford to travel Economy, I must say, the service you get from Singapore Airlines is appalling. The air hostesses are downright rude, without appearing to be rude. They are friendly, or fake friendly. They greet you with a smile on their face, but give you a death stare if you dare to ask them for anything above their normal duties. I would imagine that prison would be a kinder place, a more hospitable place, a more generous place.
I asked for coffee with my breakfast, it was black and when I asked for milk, I was directed to a little 10ml sachet of milk in my tray... Oh my, why bother with milk then? I asked politely if I could please have some more, and I was given another sachet... Really!? Another 10ml? How about, sure, here you go... have another 2 sachets because surely those who want milk in their coffee want milk in their coffee, and not just the imagining of milk in their coffee... I dared to ask for a third sachet, still politely and still got treated like I requested the queen's crown jewels...
My son's earphones broke and when my husband asked for a replacement, the air hostess rudely grabbed a pair and shoved it into his hands.
The whole vibe is off, with no joy in serving their guests that they seem to think is clearly beneath them.
And I know economy is a squash, but I think it will be more comfortable travelling in a cage where you can lie down, and they can put you to sleep for the journey and wake you up on the other end... That way they can stack more of us on top of each other... Seriously, there is absolutely no room in those seats, and the amount that your seat can recline is laughable, and you don't even want to recline it, as you are mindful for the poor passengers behind you.
I have travelled with Singapore Airlines a number of times now, and each time they have not disappointed to disappoint. By the time I reach my destinations, I am irritable, tired and in a bad mood, and feel like a bad person because I don't want to greet the now overly friendly staff bidding us adiue.
Singapore Airlines... You should do better. You should treat your clients better. From a "valued" client.
WORST airline every
WORST airline every. They lost our luggage for over 24 hours, we ended up on a remote island in the Maldives with only 1 store to buy clothes from as we arrived in sweatpants in 83 degree weather for a surf trip with no surfboards or surf clothes. We had to buy a bathing suit, clothes for dinner, and a rash guard to surf the next day, and they are refusing to reimburse us the full cost of the clothing. Nothing is excess was purchased. They are lucky the hotel provided us PJs, shoes and toiletries for free. After 4 months, over 10 phone calls, over 20 emails, they are still flighting back on reimbursing us for the necessary purchases. There is no direct phone number to call them regarding this specific cause. The average email response time is over 2 weeks. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
Overall good experience
I flew to Melbourne with Singapore and had no issues. In terms of comfort it was slightly better than Etihad, although the chair in front reclines too far becoming somewhat claustrophobic if you don't want to also be an inconsiderate passenger.
Other than that the service and staff were great. I'd probably use them again. Plus the stopover airport was much nicer than with Etihad.
The general vibes
Always feel so assured once I step into the sq plane. Thank you.
Unauthorised access of luggage
I paid extra to fly Singapore Airlines because the brand has always positioned itself as premium. Premium should mean trust, accountability, and proper handling when something goes wrong.
My checked luggage was returned with the zipper mechanism forcibly removed. There was no inspection notice, no explanation, and no communication. My bag had clearly been accessed and damaged without my knowledge.
What is more disappointing than the damage itself is the response. Follow ups led to vague replies and deflection rather than ownership or clarity. That completely defeats the purpose of paying a premium fare.
If a passenger pays extra for peace of mind, security, and professionalism, those standards must apply beyond the cabin experience. Premium pricing without premium accountability is meaningless.
Based on this experience, I regret paying more, because the one thing I expected in return trust was missing when it mattered.
The staff were excellent
The staff were excellent. helpful, considerate, positive and reassuring on all the aircraft that were used to take us to and from Heathrow, England to New Zealand.
We travelled in what can only be as described, as the sardine class (economy) as the seats were tightly packed in and were so uncomfortable as should be described as found in a rubbish tip. The seats themselves were minimal padding and it would have been more comfortable sitting on a concrete bench.
The food if you could call the muck that was served (they were having a laugh) was worse than the leftovers that are found in a fish and chip paper bag found on a seaside beach after being exposed to the elements for a week (even the Seagulls avoided) So to sum up, the best thing about Singapore airlines are the flight staff.
I forgot to mention that Singapore airlines managed to leave one of our suitcases on the tarmac of Christchurch, New Zealand airport and then we got back to Heathrow they kindly notified us. Thankfully they managed to get it to our home a few days later.
Back to Emirates gladly
This for those unaware
I flew in Premium Economy round trip to Singapore just over 3 years ago
Just booking a trip to Oz do they were a consideration
NOT anymore
Imagine my shock when I found out that SQ cancel your frequent flyer account g after just 3 years and you lose any mileage you have accumulated!!!
I shall fly Emirates and never be back to SQ
I know no other airline that does this
Miles expire on some yes
But to delete you with no notice is unbelievable
It’s a waste of money flying premium…
It’s a waste of money flying premium economy as it’s much more economy than premium. Thank goodness I booked exit row as the so called recliner seats are a joke. I’m 194cm tall and would have had better legroom in exit row economy
Flight attendants unfriendly ( compared to emirates)
The aircraft used have less toilets per passenger than most other airlines I’ve flown. The food was good and the liquor
Overall never premium economy again It’s really not a great airline everything considered
The Good, the Bad and, well, you decide...
I've hesitated a long time before writing this review, but gave Singapore plenty of time to rectify what, for me, was a BIG issue. I flew Business Class to Tokyo and everything about the check-in, in-flight service, and especially the food was top notch. The in-flight bed was definitely better than sitting in a seat in Premium Economy but TBH the bed was a bit lacking in comfort. My BIG issue is that I tried MULTIPLE TIMES through emails to find out where my flight points went, and my emails were met with total SILENCE. To this day I still do not have points registered anywhere for this flight, which to me is a VERY big deal, as a businessman. If this is how SA treats someone paying for an upgraded flight experience in Business Class, I can't even imagine why anyone would EVER fly Premium. Chances of flying with SA again based on this: very unlikely.
Worst airline ever in my life I used…
Worst airline ever in my life I used to. Shit
I would like to express my deepest and…
I would like to express my deepest and most heartfelt thanks to Fahim at London Heathrow Airport for the exceptional care and support he gave us during our journey on 1 January. His kindness went far beyond his role, and in a moment when it truly mattered, he treated us with such genuine warmth, patience, and understanding that we will never forget it.
In a world where everyone is quietly carrying their own struggles, Fahim chose empathy and compassion, and that made all the difference to us. Singapore Airlines is incredibly fortunate to have someone like him, as he represents the very best of what true service and humanity look like.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, Fahim, for all that you do. Your kindness touched us deeply. May God bless you abundantly.
Singapore Airlines
Singapore Airlines - 1 Star
No idea where these people get their reputation from. I was sent an email an hour after I had booked my flight to say my airport had changed. When I log in it hasn't changed at all. Not a fraud email. Poor communication and error emails. Customer service live chat the slowest thing going and on the phone everyone just reading off of a script. Made arrangements and spent money based on the change and no responsibility taken or compensation from Singapore Airlines.
Wont be using them again.
Not good as some people suggested!
I’m not sure why this airline is so call one of the best airlines. My experience flying with them was far worst than some of these so call good reviews. The FA’s are like robots and service when serving food was very rushed and before you have a chance to finished your food they were coming round to collect the plates already and it was a 12-13 hours flight. What a joke of an airline. Will not fly with them again unless they make some changes.
Dont trust online reviews
Started to fly SG this year, part of the reason I chose to fly with them was due to very favourable reviews /feedback on them (which I now consider to be false). My last flight on 22nd Dec was the WORST flight Ive ever had with ANY airline! The main meal served was absolutely VILE, I had one mouthful and sent it back! The snack meal was pizza slice (or something similar) this seems to be served on EVERY flight, and after having to endure it for 5 flights I declined it when offered it on my latest flight - obviously have lazy catering or someone who doesnt know about how to mix things up a little! I was seated next to a child of about 10-11yrs of age (seems to be flying with a group of children?) who was either constantly kicking/hitting me or using me as a sleeping post! Complaints to FA didnt achieve anything! Fortunatly Malaysian airlines has now restarted flights out of Brisbane so I wont know have to endure the issues presented by SG.....I would need to be in a dire situation to fly SG again. I did another trip in Nov with a LCC (Vietjet Air) who have some really bad online reviews, but found they exceeded SG in a number of different ways, and at a price less than half of SG.
