An absolute health hazard
An absolute health hazard. Deceptive, dangerous, and completely disgusting!
There are areas covered in thick dust and cobwebs. The floor was so filthy with hair that we had to keep our shoes on the entire time. We found disgusting pubic hair left in the bathroom, and the cutlery provided was completely filthy. The towels were hard, stale, and did not smell fresh.
Gut-wrenching smells & active mould. odour hits you immediately. There is active, visible mould growing directly on the kitchen countertops. We couldn't even bring ourselves to use the bathroom sink because it was so vile. When we used the kitchen sink, a gut-wrenching, putrid stench came up from the plumbing.
The air quality was so poor from the deep-seated dust and active mould that I could barely breathe. I spent the night wheezing and coughing. It is genuinely dangerous for anyone with respiratory issues.
It is listed online as a "modern studio" with a "fully equipped kitchen." This is a complete lie. There are roasting trays provided in the cupboard, yet there is absolutely no oven or hob to use them on! We had bought a cool bag full of neccesities for our meals but were unable to cook anything. There is a toaster, kettle, and microwave, but after seeing the state of the apartment, there was no way we would ever use them. The place was advertised as though we would be able to cook in a fully functioning kitchen.
The basic items provided are a bizarre joke. There was some questionable, grey washing up liquid, hand soap left on a bathroom sink with hair! loose sugar left sitting in a pot, and a random lotion bottle left on the bath. The shower head just left dangling, not even cleaned and put back. It felt like a collection of previous guests' rubbish left behind rather than clean amenities. This would make perfect sense given the rubbish bin hadn’t even been emptied and still had trash from whoever had been there before us!
The window net curtains are just casually slipped inside the main curtains. The second you try to close them for a bit of privacy, the entire netting collapses and falls on top of you.
If we had anywhere else to go, we would have left immediately. We desperately contemplated sleeping in our car just to escape the filth, but the surrounding location felt so unsafe and sketchy that we didn't dare risk it.
The ultimate irony is that when we complained to the owners, they boldly lied and assured us the property had been thoroughly cleaned right before we arrived. They said that we complained too late to allow them to get a cleaner out to us, which is mad because the place needs an absolute deep clean and renovation. It is a health hazard.
What is worse is that this accommodation is located in someones back garden! Presumably the owner? It is no surprise that the accommodation was in a grotesque state given the piles of rubbish outside the front of the house.
It is completely neglected, toxic, and unfit for human habitation. Do not risk your health or your safety—avoid this absolute nightmare at all costs. If animals were inhabiting the place, the RSPCA would shut it down. It is an absolute squalor.
