We’ve had a great experience working with Shoptimised for the management and ongoing maintenance of our Google Ads campaigns.

From the outset, their team demonstrated a strong understanding of campaign structure, keyword targeting, and budget optimisation. They took the time to properly review our existing setup, identify inefficiencies, and implement clear improvements that quickly made a noticeable difference in performance.

Communication has been consistent and transparent throughout. We receive regular updates, clear reporting, and practical recommendations rather than generic advice. It’s clear they actively monitor and refine the campaigns rather than simply “set and forget.”

Very bad experience

Very bad experience. Made a lot of losses and then was forced to pay their bills. I would highly recommend on not using as they will force you to scale your campaign for their commission but it will not be profitable.

We take feedback seriously, but this statement is misleading. Allow us to add some context.

ROAS expectations were discussed during onboarding, and a target ROAS was agreed with your team on 2 June, alongside the outlined strategy. Your account had multiple overdue invoices, and, in line with our process, campaign activity was paused while the account was in arrears.

Our agreement also states that campaigns must not be altered by the client or a third-party agency. This happened on several occasions, despite being raised with your team, and it negatively impacted performance. There were also instances where account access was removed, and communication stalled while we were actively working to restructure and improve the account, which limited what we were able to implement and support.

We made several attempts to support performance and restructure the account. On 17 October, our Head of Performance reviewed the setup with you and supported a margin-based approach, and it was agreed that one of the overdue invoices would be paid. Here, you confirmed in writing that Google Ads access had been restored and requested the outstanding invoice with a proposed payment plan. You also noted that you had not realised your Google campaigns had been loss-making. For clarity, our reporting separates Shoptimised incremental activity from your core campaigns, which remain under your control unless otherwise agreed.

Following your decision to end services, you contacted us again on 7 January for tracking support, and we responded as a gesture of goodwill.

Didn't end well!

Shoptimise performance was average while we were actively using their services, communication was ok and support was helpful at the time. However, our experience changed significantly once we decided to leave.

After exiting, an invoice was very quickly passed to a debt collection agency without any meaningful attempt to resolve it directly with us. This resulted in an additional cost of £355, which felt completely disproportionate and unnecessary.

The main issue wasn’t the service while onboard, but how aggressively things were handled once we were no longer a client. It felt like there was little interest in discussion or resolution once our business relationship ended.

I’m leaving this review to warn other businesses: Shoptimise are fine when they have your business, but be extremely careful when leaving and make sure everything is clearly settled in writing before you do.

I am extremely disappointed with my…

I had a terrible experience with Shoptimised. I ended our services in February and made it clear we were no longer working together, yet months later they went ahead and spent £138 on a Google campaign without my permission. They told me they were deleting and pausing their campaigns, but instead they ended up spending my money. Because of that, I had to pay my marketing team £1000 to fix the damage and lost a further £1800 deposit. All of this over a mistake that should never have happened.

When I called them, I was spoken to like an idiot and treated with no respect at all. They tried to make it sound like it was my fault and claimed we were notified, which is completely untrue. They also made changes to my Google account without approval and caused a lot of disruption to my business.

I have already told other retailers I know about what happened and will keep doing so. No one should have to deal with a company that acts this carelessly and unprofessionally.

Your campaigns were paused after multiple overdue invoices remained unpaid. Once the account was brought up to date, activity was restarted in line with the existing agreement, and a notification email was sent to the account contact confirming campaigns were live again.

You then contacted us to cancel and stated you had not received any notification to inform you that campaigns would resume. Shortly afterwards, you replied to that same email.

You also mentioned you had been in touch with our credit control team to request that the campaigns not be restarted. We reviewed our records and could not find any correspondence to support this.

The campaigns ran for a short period on a small budget. We appreciate you may have been unhappy with the restart, but we do not recognise the claim that spend was applied “without permission” or that changes were made outside of agreed terms.

You received your first performance updated from us on 18/10/2024 and 19/11/2024.

Based on your performance, you increased your budget increase by 33% on 28/11/2024.

Having missed your agreed payment date, you promised payment on 03/12/2024.

We then chased you in relation to that payment on 13/12/2024 & 16/12/2024.

Despite chasing that payment, we kept working and provided you with a performance update on 19/12/2024.

We then chased for payment on 20/12/2024 & 02/01/2025 whilst still working.

After receiving no payment, we paused our work on 03/01/2025 and chased again 09/01/2025.

You responded on 10/01/2025 via email citing a concern to which we responded on the same day.

We chased you on that response on 20/01/2025 and 23/01/2025.

We left you a voicemail on 24/01/2025 and emailed you again on 27/01/2025.

We then emailed again 11/02/2025 offering a call to discuss and again emailed on 13/02/2025.

We sent a letter to you on the 19/02/2025 that invoices were still overdue that action may be taken to recover if payment want not made.

You then emailed us on 20/02/2025 stating...

I am writing to express my disappointment with the lack of communication regarding this outstanding balance. I have previously requested to speak with a member of your team about this matter, but I have not received a call or any information regarding the invoice.

Furthermore, I am concerned that I have not received any information regarding whether Shoptimised has met the targets we agreed upon when we signed up for your services.

I would appreciate it if you could provide me with this information and clarify the details of the outstanding balance.

We responded to your email answering your questions on the same day (20/02/2025) and sent you a further email on 25/02/2025.

After no response, we emailed again on 05/03/2025 and then again on 13/03/2025.

We asked you for another call on 26/03/2025, tried to contact you via your website live chat on 01/04/2025 and left another voicemail for you on 10/04/2025.

After all of these attempts failed to get your response, you're outstanding invoices were passed for collection.

We received a call from your colleague on 30/04/2025 raising a concern that you had not raised to date. But we advised that the issue was now with collection and no longer with ourselves.

You emailed us again on 06/05/2025 claiming no data had been provided, despite us sending you performance updates monthly whilst having direct access to the exact same data that we do inside your own Google Ads account which you had now removed our access from.

In turn, you have provided no evidence relating to your claim or concerns and have ignored the vast majority of communications that we have sent, ignoring any and all opportunities to discuss your concerns over a 7-month period. We have acted professionally throughout whilst you did not pay any of the agreed invoices.

On 09/05/2025, you paid 50% of outstanding invoices and created a 1-star Trustpilot review.

Despite the libel nature of your review, we're happy to leave this review live and we invite all to read the timeline of communication so they can make their own conclusions as to whether or not your review is fair and accurate, or you're simply upset by having to pay for a service that you utilised and have since avoided paying for.

We have now been with Shoptimised for just under a year now and we have certainly seen an incremental increase in sales on our previous non selling products via google.

The supporting software is also easy to navigate and a great add on for any business.

Be careful with this company!!!!

Be careful with this company, they will bill you with an unusual amount at times and when you chase them they will show you a technical error on their part and force you to pay. Also, their campaign will not bring you enough revenue to cover their cost and sucks your capital.
