Open door policy for scammers

One star is too much. The after service and customer care of Shopify is atrocious. They have zero security on their site and are wide open to critical levels of fraud. When I have contacted them about this I don’t even get an acknowledgment.

Non-responsive customer service

We are using Shopify as the POS and inventory management for our brick and mortar store so this is relevant to that not necessarily online platform. We set up everything and we’re operating successfully for a week. We came in on a Saturday morning of one of the biggest days of the year in our town for sales to discover that we can no longer accept payments. We received an email at three in the morning, telling us that we could not take payments until we submitted some documents. Again, this is after a week of already being open and accepting payments. I immediately submitted the documentation that they were requesting that Saturday morning and now five days later have not even had my information acknowledged, and we are still unable to accept payments. This is absolutely unacceptable and I can’t get a hold of a person to discuss this with and get this resolved.

The worst customer service I have ever…

The worst customer service I have ever experienced. Simple request to deactivate my 2 factor authetication. I get a response with steps that don't work. Then I don't get a reply when I ask for further assistance. It has been a month, I have filled out 5 separate customer service forms. Had 5 different emails that then won't be responded too and I am still locked out of my account, whilst they continue to charge me for it.

Still paying for deleted account

I cancelled my subscription over 2 months ago and still money is leaving my PayPal, and I can't stop it. There is no one to talk to or email to resolve it. My account is deleted, but it tells me to log in to sort via their admin pages, which I can't do. I'm faced with paying £25 every month for nothing. I never even used the account.

Shopify – You Have a Responsibility to Stop Hosting Scammers
Shopify is platforming scam companies and needs to be held accountable.
Maison de Laurent, also trading as Monsieur Laurent and linked to Flamingo Clothing B.V., are operating a scam through Shopify. They falsely claim to be UK/Netherlands based but are in China. Products are poor quality, sizing is wrong, and their entire returns process is designed to make sure you never get your money back.
Shopify profits from every sale these fraudsters make. So do Apple Pay and Google Pay and others for processing the payments.
If Shopify won't vet who sells on their platform, they are complicit in these scams. Do better.

iDEAL | Wero greyed out in Shopify Payments with "you aren't eligible" and toggle gone. Support confirmed ALL requirements met. Backend bug, ticket 66255480, no response. Bancontact for BE works fine. iDEAL = 80% of NL revenue, gone overnight.

Horrible experience

Their company sucks. Especially their A.I. assistant "Sidekick" that's completely useless and a waste of my time. It's constantly contradicting itself, it flat out lies to you, leaves out crucial information we need to know, misleads you and brings you in circles. I tried waiting for a human, but one never showed up and apparently, they got rid of phone and email customer support. (not surprising, but one of the main reasons I chose them to begin with). So getting my issue resolved requires a human according to their A.I. assistant, that never showed up. Awesome! My bank account that I had already connected, disappeared and now won't let me reconnect it. All I wanted was my funds transferred. That turned into an unnecessary headache that went on for a few hours and wasn't even resolved, They use way too many 3rd party companies. More hands in the pot equals less security, not more. (that's a whole other issue that I don't feel like getting into right now) I pay $39 a month for a whole bunch of b.s. that's not worth keeping and paying for. Now, they've not only stolen time from me, but I guess my funds too, along with all of the money I've paid them thus far for crap, and whatever sanity I had left. If I can't trust them with a little, I sure the hell can't trust them with a lot. This was a trial period that I gave a handful of months to and in that time-frame, they have failed miserably. ESPECIALLY THEIR A.I.!!! I've had enough! So good job on Shopify! The only thing their A.I. assistant is good at, is raising blood pressure. I wouldn't even give one star, but I have no choice.

MURAD SKINCARE USES SHOPIFY TO PROCESS THEIR ONLINE ORDERS. THEY KEPT AN OLD CREDIT CARD OF MINE THAT WAS REPLACED DUE TO FRAUDULENT CHARGES AND WAS REPLACED BUT THEIR UNAUTHORIZED CHARGE STILL SEEMED TO COME THROUGH TO THE NEW CREDIT CARD THAT THEY WERE NEVER AUTHORIZED TO CHARGE.
CONSUMER BEWARE Have you ever been shipped something, a product - vitamins, skincare that you NEVER ORDERED? I was recently shipped MURAD Skincare where they charged my credit card and THEN i had to work to get them to credit me back for this product that showed up on my doorstep, that I never ordered. I incurred a fee of $12.95 to SHIP IT BACK TO THEM in order to get my money refunded to me. I just wanted to get this off my plate. BUT I DIDN'T NEED TO, HERES' WHY!!!
Being charged for something YOU didn't order—and then being expected to pay to fix THEIR mistake/problem —isn't just bad service; it’s a violation of federal and state consumer protection laws. Since I'm in Florida, I have access to some of the strongest consumer protections in the country (due to the number of seniors), including:
Under the FTC’s Unordered Merchandise Rule and the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act (FDUTPA):
It is therefore a "Gift": Legally, if a company sends you something you didn't order, you have the right to keep it as a free gift! You were never under a legal obligation to return it.
Unauthorized Charges are Fraud: Charging your card for an unordered item is an unauthorized, fraudulent use of your credit card and a fraudulent financial transaction.
Restitution: Forcing you to pay shipping costs to get your own money back is "oppressive and unscrupulous" conduct under Florida law.
What is it in your state??? Never putting up with this again. It took me so many cycles to rectify it on the phone with their customer service department, shipping it, providing the tracking information, never again!!!

Shopify has the worst customer service…

Shopify has the worst customer service of any POS platform I have used. The number of “hoops” they have me jumping through to add a bank account so I can actually get the money I have received for purchases is EGREGIOUS. I use Square for another business I own and would recommend over Shopify. What a mistake to try their platform.

Ordered a £39 jacket from Lumvora, via Shopify, and its delivery date is well overdue.
Tracking the item is mind boggling and so confusing and gives no reliable information at all. Its been designed to bamboozle you.

Resigned myself that Ive been scammed well and truly.

Shopify is a trailer trash app that makes it impossible to cancel the app and thats is nonsense I got told to figure it out myself even tho it was a fraud account It took me weeks to get it cancel why why would it take that long there is ZERO no help, absolutely has ZERO help this app is fraudulent WHY BECAUSE THEY HAVE ZERO HELP I HAD AN ACCOUNT SET UP BUT NOT BY ME AND THEY REFUSED TO DELETE THE ACCOUNT EVEN KNOWING IT WASNT SET UP BY ME THEY ARE A SLEAZY SCUMBAG APP THAT JUST WANTS THE MONEY! Beware of dealing with them, especially as a payment gateway for the store. I'm speaking from personal experience; their incompetence led me to lose orders worth $1000.

They support scammers like themselves and coordinate with each other. Their support team is also incompetent and will only lead you to losses.

They provide the store with false information about the buyer, and after the order is delivered, you're surprised to find a claim from the customer for a refund, accusing you of fraud. They then return the money to their partner, who has already received the goods and been refunded. I have details and evidence available.
