Misleading Product Details & used instead of new product
### Misleading Product Details — Be Very Careful
We initially approached ServerBasket for a brand-new server, with a total requirement of around ₹50 lakh. We specifically made it clear from the beginning that we wanted new components only.
We took a quotation from them and, before proceeding, asked them to share actual pictures of the components. After checking the pictures and details, we found that the component shown had a manufacturing date of 2017. It is now 2026, meaning the component was around 9 years old.
For an expensive enterprise server component, this raises a very obvious question: who would reasonably consider a 9-year-old component "new" or accept it as new equipment? We immediately questioned this and refused to proceed with the purchase.
Another major concern is that the warranty offered was seller warranty rather than manufacturer warranty, which is particularly concerning when the hardware is being represented as new.
Our experience has made us extremely cautious about purchasing from ServerBasket. If you are considering a high-value purchase, verify the actual component photos, manufacturing date, serial numbers, and manufacturer warranty directly with the manufacturer before making any payment.
We refused to buy the equipment after discovering its age. Based on this experience, I would not recommend proceeding without thorough independent verification.
