Price quoted by scrap comparison not honored
Communication was quick when finding a buyer, but the rest of the experience was disappointing.
Key Issues:
Substantial Price Cut: After discussing the car's condition, I was quoted £700. When the driver arrived, he inspects the car and then the buyer rings he claimed no knowledge of that figure and initially offered £200, though I managed to negotiate it up to £300.
Non-Collection Fee: The service requires agreeing to terms beforehand where you are charged £120 if the collection does not go ahead.
Pressure to Accept: With the vehicle already being loaded and the £120 non-collection fee apply if I refused, I felt forced into taking the lower price.
I would not recommend or reuse this service.

Help for when your car dies away from home
My car broke down beyond repair, a long way from home – a logistics nightmare. Scrap Car Comparison found a good salvage deal, organised a collector, and answered my (many) questions professionally and patiently. The collection is pending, but so far the experience has been great. (The collector details were a little vague on the collection time window, but that's a separate issue.)

Collection driver arrived
Collection driver arrived, "inspected the car" then a few minutes later came back and said the VIN from the ECU and engine didnt match on there scanner ( but having now check does match on mine and the garages scanner) then he tried to tell me the engine that was running perfectly next to me 5 mins ago had a miss fire. All in all wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw them the Specialist garage the car was at also agreed that the less than half the original offer was ridiculous!!!
