Do not use this company
Scotts of Stow went into liquidation in March 2023 and was purchased by WoolOvers but is still trading as SofS. An item purchased from SoS in Jan failed and WoolOvers took receipt of the item for repair/replacement. They did neither, and still have the item. I have had to call now on behalf of the purchaser ( aged 81) and been told they will not help even as a goodwill gesture. I am now waiting for her property to be returned. The item is still being sold in the latest brochure. Be warned, this company over prices and customer care is non existent.Also be aware, that it appears that WoolOvers has now been purchased by Langholm Capital.. so who knows who you are trading with when you purchase from Scotts of Stow.
In administration but still selling - avoid!!
We have been chasing a refund for a faulty item for ages - appalling lack of service from this awful company. As of today we have been informed they are in administration so doubt we will get our money back - however they are still selling goods and taking people's money via Scotts of Stow. Avoid at all costs, if you have any issues you will get no help (or refunds).
Very poor customer service
Very poor customer service. They twice delivered the wrong item. I shall never order from them again and suggest no one else does.
I advised Scotts & Co that I would not return the incorrect item because I am physically disabled and had experienced difficulty returning the wrong item on the first occasion and wasn't convinced there was a likelihood that the correct item was going to be sent 3rd time around.

Unfortunately yet another bad review about this company.
Second time i’ve tried to get a vase that was ordered for a birthday present for a friend.
The second vase arrived today by Hermes and the condition it arrived in was appalling.
I sent pictures in to the company and decided to chase with a phone call as the response from CS the previous time was poor.
On speaking to CS I was informed the delivery would be 10 days to arrange a replacement.
In my opinion this is not acceptable given how long I have already been waiting, and my friends birthday has long gone.
There was no care with the packaging and the box was split in numerous places with glass shards falling out the box.
Let’s hope replacement 3 arrives in better condition.
This was the first order i’ve placed with this company and it will be my last.

Very unlike me not to have read the reviews beforehand.
Very frustrating company to deal with who neither answer the phone or respond to emails for days. Took around a month to receive item needed at Christmas time. Would not use again.

Very poor service
Ordered a product on 27th Nov with a due date of 4th December. Came and went, but no update, checked tracker no information. s it is Christmas gave them a grace period. Contacted them using the Contact Form. No response. Couple more days grace, nothing. Cancelled order by phone (lady on phone polite and apologetic).

I wish that I’d checked out the reviews online before buying from them, they should be ashamed & humiliated by all the bad reviews & any decent company would do their utmost to turn things around. I sent back an item (large) by Hermes a month ago & they are denying that they’ve received the item. Time to go on Twitter.

Placed an order 10 days ago, still waiting for it to arrive. No one responds to emails, just automated responses which are not particularly helpful. Would think twice about using them again. Will attempt to get my money back from them or Section 75 claim

On 25/08/21, unknown to me, my elderly mother ordered and paid for a Microwave oven from Scotts & Co. Two months later she received a letter to say that the Microwave was delayed and would not be delivered until January 2022 ! She also separately ordered a simple Multi purpose stand which was also paid for and not delivered. I E Mailed Scotts & Co. on her behalf cancelling the order and requesting a refund. I received a reply advising how to track the order ,no mention of cancellation or refund? My phone calls to them were directed to an answer machine. Unbelievable how any business is allowed to operate in what can best be described as bordering on criminal fraud . They continually take money from customers and do not deliver. Woeful !

Non-delivery of telescopic ladder - does it exist?
I ordered a telescopic ladder way back in September and was given an early November delivery date and then a later date. When querying the non-delivery, I contacted Customer Services and received a tracking link (3 times), which doesn’t work! I then used their contact form to ask why delivery had not occurred. I am still waiting for a reply. I shall not use Scott’s again. So I have paid almost £150 and nothing to show for it!

Dreadful service
Dreadful service. Ordered a product which alarmingly gave me an electric shock. I contacted customer service and requested a refund. Instead of sending a refund they sent me a replacement of the same product!
I contacted them again to request the refund. They apologiesd and say they have sent me a cheque for the refund but I never received it. They keep telling me their records show the cheque was cashed !! Absolute rubbish..I would know if I had cashed a cheque. Stay well away from this company.

Ordered patio mat in March 2021, have not received it despite trying to ring and being ‘25th’ in their queue.
What a dreadful company to order from, they are unable to fulfill their orders and when I did eventually get through after nearly an hour they didn’t have any excuse.
Appalling company and will never order from them again and would advise avoid at all costs.
Hilarious that I then received a catalogue from them recently advertising the SAME item even though they cannot supply.

Some companies are so bad that they make some life events feel like recreational pastimes. The excruciating pain of an ingrown toenail, or a tooth abscess, or hitting your thumb with a hammer, or perhaps having a large wood splinter getting in under a thumb nail is as nothing, compared to trying to buy and receive products from this company based on my own experience of forlornly attempting to do so.

I wouldn’t even give one star to this company. Reading the reviews of how they assist people with debt is appalling. My own experience was awful. I usually feel confident and assertive to deal with such things but felt bullied, humiliated and deflated following speaking to the manager. He shouted at me, and two other staff did too. They sent a sheriff officer to my home when I had entered into a payment plan. There is no breakdown of charges and I plan to have them investigated by the independent ombudsman. This should not happen to people under extreme pressure. I don’t expect glowing reviews about a debt company. What I do expect is kindness, respect, assistance and spoken to like a human being. I have contacted citizen’s advice and will be complaining about Phil, Fiona, and another male. There were one or two individuals who were really kind and helpful in what seems like a toxic environment. Do not let them get away with such a horrible atrocious service, adding charges with no apparent documentation or rationale.
Unforgiveable lack of service lately
Unforgiveable lack of service lately, from a company that used to be reliable. Ordered 2 items in mid January - one arrived in a few days, the other still hasn't. The company won't reply to calls, emails or web messages, other than a few weeks back sending a single (irrelevant) standard email referring to 'unprecedented demand' and 'slight delays'. Escalated to a complaint 2 weeks ago demanding a refund, with of course no reply. I will never use this awful company again.

DO NOT order from this company!! My Mum ordered 2 curtain sets and 2 duvets in September 2020 and the duvets have still not been received 5 months later. Everytime you contact them they push the date back. Asked for compensation for my Mum due to cost of phone calls and inconvenience and they asked me to send a phone bill!! I refused and asked for compensation to which they first offered 50% of the duvets back which I refused. They said they would call me back but called my Mum instead and offered her less than they offered me!! My poor Mum was caught off guard and accepted the offer.
