If your EVEN considering Santander DON'T !!! What a mess for a company !! Thinking about a Class A Suit .... Been on Social Media Trying to get enough Signed up for this !!! Contact me if you have the many issues that so many are having with this Company. First off they need ACTUAL CUSTOMER SERVICE instead of call centers full of people that can't understand you NOR you understand them !! WORSE COMPANY OUT HERE !!!!!For 2 days The site is down and I can't access my account.Calling in all I get are call center employee's that I struggle to understand because their English is not well !! Your account establishing system is not working. I have it recover my username, it tells me, I enter my username to recover my password, and it says the username is not valid. THE EXACT SAME USERNAME YOU JUST GAVE ME.
Update: 58 mins on the phone with Sago and I'm no closer to logging in to my account. I can tell him exactly what the website bug is, but he has no power to escalate or log a tech support ticket.

I appreciate the ability to secure the loan quickly and easily. But the dealer told me if I paid off the loan in full within the first month there would be no interest charged. First I was not permitted to pay more than $12999 online and then I was charged an extra $100 for something.

Not at all impressed. To opt out of information sharing, I was instructed to go to my account online. When I did, all that was available was the privacy policy itself. There was no option to opt out. Then I called the support number, and an operator I could barely understand told me I had been automatically opted out. However, the instructions in the Santander intro packet specifically said I had to opt out intentionally. When I raised this disconnect, the operator was clueless about what to do. I am not happy with Santander. They're all hat and no cattle, as the saying goes.

Santander was very helpful and gave us a great rate. 2.99%. The dealership made an error on our loan that didn't get caught until 16 months into the loan. Santander was great about working with us to resolve the issue. We ended up having to get another brand new (2025) car. Santander pre-approved us without even applying again and even gave us a 3.49% APR. I did give a 5 star, because Santander did an incredible job of fixing the problem. I highly recommend them.

I recently tried to set up a new account with Santander Consumer USA and had a very frustrating experience.
I spoke with four different representatives during the process. During two calls, I requested to speak with a supervisor multiple times (at least eight), but my request was repeatedly denied, which ultimately led me to end the call.
On a later call, I spoke with a representative named Mohit, who was professional and explained that wait times for supervisors can be long. He attempted to assist before escalating, which I appreciated.
My date of birth was put incorrectly in the system and that's what prevented me to set up an account. They want me to send them my drivers license, but don't they have that already?
However, the overall experience was inconsistent and difficult. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Santander Consumer USA due to poor customer service and lack of proper escalation support.

I was employed by Santander a few years back and at the time I was going through some personal stuff. I was unreliable, unprofessional, and anybody on the outside could tell that I was going through a tough time. I understand that people are at work to work and not to babysit anybody else but rather than try to talk to me or even encouraging me, the staff and managers mocked me. They would make announcements in front of everybody where they were clearly mimicking me or directed towards me acting as if they were not meanwhile, everybody knew that it was about me, which only further my insecurities instead of trying to help me they got joy out of my pain. It was awful. They also are very shady when it comes to their loans that’s all I can say.

I would give them zero stars or possibly negative stars if it was possible. Their customer service is absolutely inept. They will charge you interest before giving you information on your loan and withhold payoff information for as long as possible. They will also delay receiving and processing your payoff payment in order to extend your loan and charge you additional interest. I can’t believe their business practices are legal. It’s almost as bad as a loan shark with the local mafia.

Your web site doesn't work. I want someone from customer service to call and fix this account. The app for santander won't let me in the customer service doesn't know how to fix your bad app. I'm not sure at this point if I make a payment with you it will get apply correct. OK I am trying to set up my online account and the phone number that is in your system is incorrect and therefore could not recieve code as a text. I tried to get back into account to set the phone number and it locked me out. Tried to call and they lady just kept saying "am I audible to you" This is not a good start to a long term loan situation and I need to be able to manage my account online.

After the repossession of the vehicle,now Santander is reporting to credit bureaus targeting my credit.After they charged me for all those high interest rates.I never received a dime after repossession.I paid 5 years on a 2018 Nissan Rogue.$405.00 monthly + insurance,add all that up.For anyone buying a vehicle please buy from elsewhere.Santander is 1 class thieves.They're out to ripped you off.They coming to destroy credit.But I'm good.It doesn't matter with me now.My blessings comes from the most High.This is a wicked thieving company.

Our Relationship is not off to a good start. I have not even made my first payment and I am annoyed with your service and process. Your website interface has issues, would not allow me to log in, the passcode you sent me changed before my eyes as I hit enter to submit it only to be told I entered the wrong number. Went through that six times or so before it would take. Reviews on this company I have read are not very good, I am hesitant to be confident about working with you at this point. Is your app available in English? The response from an agent was No English version...
Update 04.30.2026: Santander is truly one of the most difficult companies to deal with. To make a payment it takes 30mins on the phone and must speak to a representative because the payment system they use does not work. It feels like this is all by design and on purpose to extract as much money out of the customer as possible through fees, late charges and or any other additional methods to take advantage of the customer. Please contact me and prove me wrong. I have spoken with four different people at Santander and the above statement stands as true.

If I could give 0 stars I would. This company allowed me to make a payment arrangement. According to the website all is good and I'm well on my way to getting back on track. However, I received a letter dated two days Before the arranged payment was made. It was regarding Notice of Delinquency. I called to confirm that the payment had been applied to our arrangement and was not only argued with that they were not going to honor the payment arrangement but I was also hung up on once and left on hold for so far 20 minutes because I'm still on the phone with them as I type this out. I'm looking into Ling Law to help me. Hopefully I won't have to follow through and they will honor their arrangement. I will update if anything good happens.
*Update* they agreed to honor the arrangement and apologized. Hopefully there will be no more issues going forward.
