Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 110 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers reported rude and unhelpful staff, alongside significant issues with customer service that was often unresponsive. Frustration was common regarding hidden and excessive charges for baggage and seating, making flights more expensive than advertised. Reviewers also faced problems with payment systems and general flight service, including delays and lost luggage. However, some customers appreciated the cheap flight prices, finding them good and incredible for the cost. A few other people also felt that certain staff members were helpful and attentive, particularly during bag drop or in emergency situations.

Ryanair making life difficult for their…

Ryanair making life difficult for their passengers again! If I could give zero stars for this booking experience I would
Not accepting paper boarding cards is a nuisance, and might prove to be a total disaster if internet failures.
I just booked a flight with Ryanair and looked at the booking. The first problem was that on the confirmation I couldn't at first find the PNR number printed next to the flight details, but eventually found it buried amongst the coloured heading.
Having got the PNR number, all looked fine for eventually checking in.
HOWEVER, when I came to check on the "manage my booking" section on the Ryanair main website I found that it appears to be impossible to download boarding cards without being logged on to the Ryanair App on your smartphone.
I'm very unhappy about this, as I don't want my phone "cluttered" with multiple apps (which Ryanair presumably want there to try to highlight their airline in front of others) Sadly, anyway, when I tried to load the app, it wouldn't load without fingerprint verification, so I'll have to make a 2-way 15 mile trip to the Apple store in town near me.
My co-passenger on the same booking succeeded in downloading the Ryanair app, but couldn't load even their boarding card info as I was the main booker.
Normally, with all other airlines, I can find my boarding card simply using my surname and PNR number and can get both digital photo boarding cards on my tablet and phone, AND, for additional security, print off a hard-copy boarding card in case phone or tablet photos are proving difficult to display.
Technology can be very useful, but forcing customers to require more complex processes is NOT to me a good marketing policy, particularly for pensioners like me. My flight booking is proving to be a major hassle, so I'll now tend to book with other airlines where I can. Maybe Ryanair think no pensioners book their flights?
IF THIS HAD BEEN A LAST MINUTE BOOKING I'D HAVE BEEN TOTALLY FIXED!

Very bad…felt sick

On 22nd october 21.20 i have flown flown with ryanair cagliari to stanstead
Flight was delayed as of a changed of plane and paper work that lasted an hour between awaiting boarding and kept waiting on the plane with a blasting aircon freezing to death.
The worse experience of any flight i took in the past.
I have managed to complain twice about the cabin cold pressure tempersture but the response from the captain was the termostat wasn t properly working.
Appalling not even an apology we had elderly and babies on board.

4 hr delay. No compensation. Terrible treatment

Four hour delay. Missed connections. No information in Barcelona airport. That was August and now it is November. I have been fighting for compensation since August. They’re either “unable to find my claim” or make me start over again. The inclement weather excuse is being used to not pay compensation, even though, at the airport, they said it was a technical issue in Majorca.

I really can’t stand this airline

I really can’t stand this airline. Only using them when the price difference justifies tolerating/ enduring their service. E.g school half term.
For my two peneth’s worth of ‘pubic-air’ review
Flight Stansted to Palma Mallorca - an hour late . No explanation. Steward didn’t have a clue and tried to tell me departure time from UK was Spanish time for take off ..!
They don’t use air bridges to door of aircraft to save £. But keep you waiting at bottom of stairs in the bad weather and rain because airplane not ready to board…
Return flight - half hour late because they didn’t board everyone in a timely manner , go through boarding gate and again wait 15 minutes for a bus. Cant stand them . I know they are a flying bus . But even nowadays the base price is misleading and after obligatory or a few desired add ons, the price narrows and flying a better airline with a seat and beverage food included with a stress free good customer journey is ALWAYS preferential. And to not give your £££ to this outfit . Latest - only electronic boarding passes from 11/25 - what if your phone is stolen/ lost/ broken/ out of charge ? Guess it will be another opportunity of the snakes and ladders process to stripe people up

Avoid at all risk. The reviews speak for themselves.

The fees keep coming, you’re fined for late check in, but you can’t check in on line. Some type of problem!
Still at airport in time they said was expectable and still charged us. This is a company built on false promises.
No customer service, please avoid at all risks!!!!

i would not even give this airline 1 star. we bought cases that we have travelled with all summer as hand luggage. bought priority boarding on flight from bristol to pozna poland. random check only us out of full flight. case weeks don't fit in the boarding blue scale. everyone i can see with hand luggage there is no way the ruck sacks fit in there. so out of full flight just us and they would not check anyone else.... be mindful the trunki that i see all the little ones with i know do not fit . the attendants on gates were disgustingly rude( she works with swissport gate, i will also escalate
to bristol airport staff how rude they were both the male trainee and woman !!! she also said good luck getting a response from ryanair on the issue as you won't get one and this is nothing to do with ryan air.So if nothing to do with ryanair flight why am i being charged for my luggage being so big . swiss port are
disgusting and the girl is threatening has no customer service has been nothing but argumentative . she would not give her name and told us to suck it up !!

Ryanair application

Yesyerday we missed our flight after arriving at the gate more than 30 mins before the flight. We used the app to monitor the gate number as we coukdbt see a board. It appears it showed much later than the board which we couldn't see from our seat. There was no announcement in the departure lounge or last minute call. We were sat at the gate thinking we were 1st there. No last.
Rebooked and funny enough today there was a call to the gate. We did nothing wrong just used the app Ryanair are so keen on. So it has cost us £300 to get home. How were we to know the gates appear on the app long after the board. Even so we were there over 30 minutes before departure time. We were not the only passengers to have this problem. It's a disgrace. They will be asking us to fly the plane next.
The staff were unhelpful and rude.
Never again. We wont be flying again.
Staff said it was the worst airline always altering things without thought.

Booking a flight I got completely stuck on the final payement page. Insisted on you entering your country but every time I selected United Kingdom it was rejected and payment method flipped to Paypal. A method of payment I would never use. Tried for about 30 minutes. The same happened.
So went onto their Customer Service Chatbot. You would not appear to be able to contact them by phone. Started at No 101 in the queue now 2hrs30mins later at No 16. Diabolical customer service.

Lost luggage

Ryanair lost my luggage 4 months ago and never found it - looks like someone stole it and I don't really care as that shouldn't be my problem when luggage was checked in. Ryanair keeps closing new claims and saying that they won't recompense me anything. Rubbish airline. Will never use it again.

Ryanair has nothing to loose even if all it get is 1*, It is the cheapest airline and doesn't give a monkey about our complaints.
I had purchased two seats together so that I could provide support to my 80-year-old husband during the flight
However, upon boarding, I was reassigned to seat at the far back of the plane.
I was informed that a change of aircraft had necessitated a rearrangement of seating, separating me (age 75) from my elderly husband which caused considerable distress and difficulty for him throughout the journey.
And I have no way to be paid back for my seats purchase

They lie about flight cancellation reason so as not to pay compensation.

Our flight from Nantes back to Stanstead was meant to depart at 0940. Instead it departed closer to 1400 hours. The staff at the airport claimed it was due to a technical issue with out plane. When we eventually got on the plane the Captain informed us that our flight was delayed as an earlier Ryan air flight from Nantes to Spain had gone technical so they used our aircraft instead. The captain even stated that ' you probably saw us drinking coffee in the departure lounge waiting for out airplane to arrive'.
The captain also advised us to remember to put our claims in for the delayed flights.
Today when I attempted to start my claim for compensation, the ryanair response was that we were not eligible for compensation as the reason for the delay was due to a medical emergency. That was strange as that was the first ever mention of there being a medical emergency. VERY CONVENIENT RYANAIR AS THAT IS ONE OF THE EXEMPTIONS FOR PAYING COMPENSATION!!!
This just goes to show how far this company and it's leadership are willing to go to shaft their customers. I would love to know if anyone has ever got compensation from Ryanair in the past. I'm gonna hazard a guess and say that it would be easier to pull your own teeth out than get a penny back from this company. At least they are consistent in living up to their atrocious well deserved reputation. Ryan air will screw you at every chance they get people, and they give zero f@cks about you as a customer....... and don't get me started on trying to talk to someone in their customer services department..... it literally does not exist. I wish there was the option to give minus stars!!!!

I would give them zero stars if I could. Every attempt at flying with them is an absolute nightmare!

I was gifted a voucher for Christmas last year, it was ordered in my middle and last name (no one calls me by my first name). I now find out I cannot use it because it doesn’t exactly match my travel documents. Okay… I reach out to them to request a name change to add my first name on it (my name is double barrelled) 2 weeks ago and am told I will get a new voucher in 3 days. Guess what, no voucher. All 4 attempts to get hold of them in the past 2 weeks goes to shit, only for me to get through today and be told policy has changed, I need the order number (being aware I didn’t place the order), otherwise I can’t do anything for you. The scumiest low-cost airline out there. If I even set foot on another one of their airlines, it’ll be too soon!

Ryanair policies go against health and…

Ryanair policies go against health and safety. I understand they can’t change flights due to people mistakes. But my dad was traveling due to medical appointment and got to know after buying the tickets that he would be inyected with a liquid that emits radiation and have to be away from children and pregnant woman for 24 hours. For this reasons I tried to change his tickets to a day after and customer service only talk about charging a fee for the change regardless of the reasons. I did paid for the change because ethically I think it is wrong to expose people but this policy discourage people to do what is correct for the wellbeing of other passengers and ryanair crew which it doesn’t seem to matter to the company. Furthermore, when I asked the customer service person if I could speak to a manager he terminated the conversation saying that was ryanair policy and close the chat what I found very rude. I think policies should never go against peoples wellbeing and encourage people to do the correct thing.

Lower priced packages with more privalege causing more boarding disruption!!!

We booked package of 1 bag in the hold and reserved seating for 54 euros on top of basic price. We then had to wait in non priority line for people who paid less for their seats get priority boarding, ie, 1 carry on cabin bag, 1 small bag under seat, priority boarding and reserved seat for 37 euros on top of basic price? It makes no sense. We had no luggage to go into the overhead lockers but had to queue waiting for those who had to stop and try to squeeze their cabin bags in ( on a full flight ) when if we, who paid more for our tickets, had boarded first we would have been seated with our small bag under seat in front reducing the queue of people waiting behind to board. Apart from the fact of paying more and having less privilege the process was slowed by those using the overhead lockers been given priority boarding blocking the ailes. Please Ryanair think tank, think your packages through with your customers in mind. Those who pay more for seats with more straight forward boarding should not be waiting in line behind those who have paid less and have a more disruptive boarding procedure.

Never use

I’ve only just booked the holiday it hasn’t even been 2 hours and I realised I booked with this company when I needed to use another airline that took me to the same airport as I was taking my car , travelling with an infant so car seat is crucial to take a car to leave at the airport car park. This airline must be making no money as they refused a refund. It hasn’t even been 24 hours to give customers the chance to cancel with them , money hungry airline. Will never use this airline their policy needs to be investigated urgently. I’m paying a bit extra out of my budget to use someone else.
