The meal downstairs was fantastic. The place gives a wonderful experience with decor and service. However, the coctail bar is disappointing. The place is beautiful however the service and rules upstairs did not allow for a glass of milk to be given to a customer who needed it in order to consume their treat cocktail. The manner in which the request was dealt with was almost rude, not old world service and not good service in any age.

The staff was amazing and then bartending staff was exceptional. Excelled in customer service and hospitality. Excellent food and beer, good value too. Definitely will go there

Service staff from Rules provided was exceptional. Very attentive and so well organised. Out waitress Sophie was very patient with my dietary choices and requirements. She met all standards and beyond. Place is beautiful and food was divine ☺️Excellent experience we’ll definitely be back 😊

This place is one of our favourite restaurants and at Christmas time one of the most magical places to eat. The staff are all impeccable and friendly. The food is amazing real old school English menu. Highly recommended especially in December.

This is our second experience at Rules and the only reason we come is for the great food, great hospitality which is a testament to the staff who work there. The place is great oldy worldy, the oldest restaurant in London and we might not be wealthy but it is worth the experience to sample this fine good value for money restaurant in London. A great place to eat. And our Hungarian waitress was amazing. Thank you for making my wifes 60th very special.

Rules restaurant Covent Garden.

What a remarkable restaurant, the most beautiful place to be at Christmas. The staff were warm, friendly, and helped to create a lovely atmosphere. The food was the best I’ve ever had in any London restaurant. Absolutely outstanding experience!! Looking for an excuse to get back there as soon as possible!

Rules has a claim that it’s the oldest restaurant in London, its other claim is that is can do ‘English cuisine’ very well... Well, it has every right to both claims. We couldn't get a seat until 9pm on Saturday but still worth the late dinning. Service was very good, and cheerful (our waitress was), décor comfortable and fun (even the Thatcher paintings). The menu really did have wide range to choose from, and what we had ordered was cooked to perfection and tasted delicious. This is a ‘must do’ restaurant, you will not be disappointed.
