I purchased these Roger Vivier shoes in…

I purchased these Roger Vivier shoes in Paris some time ago expecting the luxury and quality the brand promises, but I am completely shocked. I haven’t even worn them, and yet they have developed a black stain from the inside to the outside out of nowhere.

This is unacceptable for a high-end brand. Shoes at this price point should not deteriorate while sitting in the box. The material and quality control clearly failed. I expected elegance and craftsmanship, not shoes that ruin themselves.

Do NOT purchase unless Roger Vivier addresses these serious quality issues.

Luxury prices for a poor experience

I bought a pair of Roger Vivier Belle Vivier 45 slingback shoes at over €800 just under a year ago through Net-A-Porter, which had them as an exclusive. When the small strap holding the main slingback strap broke yesterday, I contacted RV by WhatsApp with photos of the shoe, the problem, and my NaP order confirmation. RV's response was that I need to make my claim with NaP because RV has no record of my purchase, despite my sharing a photo of my order confirmation and it being impossible to buy the shoes through RV directly because they were an exclusive to NaP

It is true that my contract is with NaP and not RV, but it is also true that the poor workmanship of the shoes is the fault of RV, not NaP. Any decent company will stand by its product, regardless of whether it was purchased directly or via an authorised seller, because it is that company's name on the line when something goes wrong

There are quite a few other Belle Vivier 45 models that RV do not sell on their website nor in their Paris flagship store and are instead sold only through RV's authorised retailers. So buy any of these RV shoes from NaP, MyTheresa, Harrods etc., have them develop a fault, and then be told that you have to return them to the seller because your receipt and the faulty shoes aren't enough for RV to fix the problem directly

So-called luxury brands like these have only themselves to blame for their inevitable demise. I have bought five pairs of RV shoes in the past 18 months but I don't see that trend continuing

Beyond reprehensible

Well, Rogers Vivier has sunk to the level of dinner show costumers.
I realized today as a seam busted open on a pair of two month old shoes that I’ve worn maybe five times, because Roger Vivier no longer stitches It’s seams together, they topstitch next to the seams, and then glues the seam together. So are luxury companies selling $1250 loafers that they can’t even bother to sew together and can’t glue a seam that can last five wearings?
So tell me trust pilot, how can I put a positive spin on this so you tell me what advice I can give to a company that squanders its reputation? I am waiting with great anticipation to find out how I can be a better person and be happy that I believed in a company for 25 years to see them dilapidate into a bunch of hot glue cobblers.
A trust pilot how does a company with three negative reviews of One stars have a 2.8 star reputation? Looks like you’re in the business of protecting the businesses🤦🏽‍♀️

Worst customer experience ever

Worst customer experience ever! I purchased their Rangers! My first issue was the zipper kept undoing on its own on the right shoe. Then the whole top ripped on the left shoe. two seperate events at the Sydney store their staff couldn’t give me a straight answer or help without consulting a store manager! Who was not available at the store so they had to get back to me!! It’s $3.3k shoes! What do you mean you are not standing by your brand to immediately take action?? It’s been over a week since I gave it to the Sydney store and nothing! Never ever again!!! I would be embarrassed to associate with you tbh!

Disappointing experience. Ill-fitting shoe and frustrating response from customer service.

I was persuaded to buy an ill-fitting pair of pumps by a store attendant who conveniently forgot to mention that the store doesn't offer a refund, even if the shoe doesn't fit (it was mentioned in fine print on the back of the receipt which of course you are handed AFTER the purchase). I am now saddled with something that is super expensive and useless. Staff at the store refuse to answer calls. Only solution offered is a credit note to buy something else within 6 months when I needed something for next week. Really shocked and disappointed by the service offered by the brand.
