An absolute shambles of a business, with abysmal customer service. Doesn't answer emails, does not action instructions, are never available, appears to have no internal system for client or ticket management. Avoid like the plague. Pick literally any other company for your VOIP services and evade the worst headache of your life. Would pay not to be a client.

We've been using Ring Central for almost 20 years and honestly do not recall a single service outage. When we have questions or need help with changes to our account their support team is great, Highly recommend.

I signed up to use ringcentral for texting and it was impossible to set up. No way to cancel service online so had to call and it took over 45 minutes for them to cancel my account. Awful customer service.

We chose RingCentral specifically for SMS/texting to support customer communication as a licensed independent insurance agency, and we made that use case clear before signing the contract. At no point during the sales process were we told there could be issues with 10DLC approval based on our business model.
After onboarding, we were then told by multiple representatives across different departments that our business was categorically disallowed from being approved for 10DLC and that there was no path forward. After going back and forth with support and getting nowhere, we made changes ourselves and were able to get approved without any help from RingCentral, directly contradicting what we had been told.
Once we finally got approved, we then found out that the functionality we actually needed — a shared SMS inbox for our team — requires an additional paid add-on per user, which was not clearly explained during the sales process.
On top of that, support has been inconsistent. We’ve had to follow up multiple times to get responses, and when we tried to escalate the issue, one rep sent a scheduling link that didn’t work and another had availability three weeks out. Follow-up emails went unanswered.
Overall, the experience has been frustrating. We were given incorrect guidance, key details were not disclosed upfront, and we ended up spending significant time resolving issues ourselves.

We've been using them for over a year now, and although the service overall is decent, if you call and request a change to reduce services you can only do so at the time of your annual 'contract' renewal. We were not notified our term was renewing (it auto renews apparently), nor were we told we can't make any changes (except adding services) at any time other than our renewal date. So now we're stuck for another 11 months paying for a bunch of services we no longer need. Its all in the fine print the customer service rep told me, and said they would be happy to point out where it says it. Would have been nice if they did the same when I signed the contract. SO if you do sign up with them I'd suggest getting LESS of what you need to start because its easier to ADD stuff later, and impossible to remove it!

Horrible experience. Phone number got lost within their own system. Use a different service. Don't make the same mistake we did.

I have been a business customer of RingCentral for over 10 years and recently none of my business texts are going through. We are literally a service business and do zero texting for marketing.
They are reporting them all as spam. And none of my texts are going through to my employees or clients. I highly recommend you do not use this company ever. I will be leaving as soon as I can.

I will be suing RingCentral for the experience that I had. Not only did they lie to me about porting my number, they cost me thousands of dollars in time that it’s to fix and reinstate my phone number with Verizon. When I reinstated my phone with Verizon, lossed out on preexisting significant discounts with Verizon and was unable to use my credit card for auto pay (lost out on valuable credit card points). All in, I’m probably looking at about $6000 in verified loss. I’ll be because of deceptive practices. I’m going to enjoy going after them in court.

I own a call center and I needed a new softphone for my agents, obviously given its popularity and shiny features I went with RingCentral, just 2 days after using it they deactivated all my users with no notice or notification, apparently because we violated the terms of service and we have been placed as high risk. Although we just conducted the same business we have conducted for years with many soft phones and never had any issues, we are a legit business registered in the US and 2 other countries and have never been affiliated or part of any shady operations. I sent so many emails to support, my account manager and even the person who signed me up and gotten no replies we have not been operational for a week now and it costed me a lot of business. There were red flags since day 1 because we needed the softphone asap and they said we can go live in the same day then after signing the contract I find out that I need to wait 72 hours for the numbers to get activated. Truly a horrible experience and I cannot recommend it to my worst enemy!

I’ve called four times, and every call was routed to a non‑English offshore call center. There was no option to speak with an English‑speaking representative in the United States. Many companies still support American‑based service, but this one forces customers through third‑world call centers where communication and common sense are lacking.

Horrible customer service specially when trying to cancel service and pls read the contract very careful very difficult to cancel or reduce users beware!!!

The single worst business experience in recent memory. Our company has had an account with Ring central for over 20 years and the degeneration of account service support over the last five years has been stunning beyond comprehension. Adding services is done with a couple of clicks, but to remove RingEX Licenses or to remove a paid service has been met with significant barriers and false promises. We have literally made seven separate attemps to remove the unused RingEX licenses and a paid service for more than a years and after seven separate Support Tickets we can only hope that the eighth attempt will finally be succesful and the amount of our monthly Ring Central invoice will be properly reduced.

I signed up with RingCentral and was told I would receive a call for an introductory editorial, they eventually did call but hung up on me. This happened several times. I called a few months later to cancel my subscription and they said you can not cancel until the contract is up. Horrible system, customer service and just all around bad.

Horrible customer service.
Trying to cancel service is worse than trying to cancel a gym membership.
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY.
We've tried to cancel service on multiple occasions - they say I'm locked into a term contract. We have subsequently tried to cancel, then, they say its not in their cancellation window. Then, they don't notify us when the contract is up for renewal, then enroll us in another 2 year term contract (again, without notifying me) and now tell me I cannot cancel until February of 2028 - even though I've previously tried to cancel services. Such deceptive business practices!

Beware of this company as they auto renew your for 3 yrs with no notice of any kind. Shocking as you cannot see your contract anywhere on the site and need to provide written notice 30 (business) days in advance of renewal. Biggest scam I've seen in a while. I'm going to try and get Ohio Law changed so we have recourse.

I’m extremely disappointed with my experience with RingCentral. After years as a customer, I tried to cancel my service last year but was told I had missed the narrow window in which I was allowed to stop the auto‑renewal. Because of that, I began searching for a new VOIP provider at the very start of the final month of my current contract.
Before my renewal date this year, I called RingCentral to cancel the auto‑renewal and switch to monthly billing so I wouldn’t lose phone service if there were delays in porting our main number. Even though my annual plan was already paid through the end of the month, they tried to charge me again for the remainder of the month. When I refused, I was told I would need to call back on the 30th or 31st to make any changes to my contract.
I called on the 30th, once my number had successfully ported out, to cancel. Only then did they suddenly offer 40% off or to match my new provider’s pricing—discounts that were never mentioned until after my phone number had already been ported to my new service provider. If RingCentral had offered a reasonable rate last year, I wouldn’t have needed to switch providers at all.
Since my new provider does not offer refunds, I called back on the 31st to finalize the cancellation. At that point, I was told I actually had to call on the 1st instead, even though my account clearly showed I would be charged on the 31st. Their response was essentially, “We can’t do anything—call tomorrow and request a refund.”
When I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was told one would call me with 24-48 hours, which will be after I am charged for the renewal. This timeframe is not helpful, and I will still need to call on the 1st to cancel and request a refund.
This entire process felt intentionally confusing and structured to delay cancellation until after renewal. Even if my new provider did offer prorated refunds, I would still have had to wait for my number to port back—another unnecessary burden created by RingCentral’s policies.
Overall, the lack of transparency, the runaround from customer service, and the last‑minute attempts to keep me from canceling have made it clear that RingCentral does not prioritize fairness or customer trust. I cannot recommend them.

Support is terrible even for simple issues! The front line people are not trained to solve any basic problems.

This is the worst phone service i have ever used. It is not user-friendly, I am consistently missing calls, not hearing it ring through if i forget to unplug my headset, not getting my voicemails, and a host of other problems. We do have hard phones included but the do not work (cannot call outside lines, cannot call 911, and is totally useless). I would not recommend this or any other soft phone service ever!

I called RingCentral for their call branding service. After 3 months of calling them and telling them my business name still doesn't show up on customers caller I.D and my number still shows as spam, I finally called to cancel my month to month service. They tell me I can't cancel because I'm on a yearly service. I told them I signed a month to month contract and they said yes it is a month to month service but it's still a yearly contract. DO not do business with these fraudulent people by any means. You will waste your money and your time when you could've chosen a more reputable company that actually do what they advertise they will do for your business. Ring Central definitely does NOT!!
