Digital evidence has grown 10–100x in the last decade — body-worn cameras on every officer, dash cams on every car, smartphones and doorbells recording every incident, and hours of 911, jail calls, and interviews in every case. But legal and law enforcement teams have not grown 10–100x with it, making it impossible to fully review cases with the time and staff available. Rev is the only economic way to keep pace. Our platform combines industry-leading speech recognition with AI that cites its sources, so every result is accurate, verifiable, and tied directly to the original file. We keep humans firmly in control — AI never replaces judgment, it supports it — giving legal and law enforcement professionals the clarity and time they need to make fair, informed decisions. And when precision matters most, optional human review adds an extra layer of assurance. Built with strict security protocols (CJIS, HIPAA, and SOC2) and zero data sharing with third party LLMs, Rev helps teams find the truth faster, move cases forward with confidence, and spend less of their lives stuck in playback and paperwork — while keeping responsibility for judgment exactly where it belongs: with them. The bottomline: Rev delivers fewer overtime hours, fewer missed details, faster case movement, and more sustainable workloads for the people responsible for applying judgment in the moments that matter the most.

Unreliable Service and Poor Quality Control

I had high hopes for Rev after an outstanding first transcription that exceeded expectations. However, my recent experience was nothing short of disappointing. The quality of transcription has gone downhill significantly, with careless errors and an apparent lack of effort.

Despite escalating the issue, their Quality Assurance team dismissed my concerns, blaming "verbatim" guidelines as an excuse for sloppy work. Even senior management seemed clueless about resolving the problem. I had to spend time fixing the errors myself, completely defeating the purpose of outsourcing the task.

While they offered a small refund, it didn’t address the real issue: their inability to provide consistent, professional-grade service. I've lost confidence in Rev and have already taken my business elsewhere. If you're looking for reliability and quality, I suggest you do the same.

Decreasing audibility, so not as pleasurable as before.

I have done freelance transcription with Rev.com for years. Sadly, I've found the audio files available to claim are decreasing in audibility over the last few months, despite the fact that I've downloaded various audio apps to enhance clarity etc, so income has decreased substantially. I used to think that low reviews mentioning difficulty etc were odd, but after getting knocked down from Rev+ status myself by a single harsh grading, I understand.

Disappointing customer service - watch out

Disappointing customer service - be wary!
Rev.com's customer service team seem adept at ensuring you can not redeem coupons or get a partial refund in the event of a technical issue at their end.
The fact that they don't even reply to negative reviews explains how much they value their customers.

Today I visited Revs for a bottomless brunch, to celebrate my daughters A Level results.
Our server, Daniel, was the happiest, loveliest guy ever. He was attentive and very approachable. He has absolutely made my daughter’s day and he deserves a medal!!!! A massive thank you to him for this experience xx

Just great

I've been working for Rev for the past 4 months and i've been able to make some pocket money which has been really useful! I strongly recommend, there are time where there isn't any job offers though so you better do any job you can while they're available ! Otherwise great company, they're fair if you do the work right and it's quite well paid

Great new Manchester venue

Saw Peter Kay at the newly opened Co Op Live. Show was fantastic and so good to see Peter back on stage. Venue was great too. Lack of men’s toilet facilities meant long queues in the interval and drinks somewhat overpriced but it’s a great new venue with good atmosphere

Horrible experience as freelancer at rev

My Experience:

I recently worked as an English-to-Korean caption translator on Rev for two weeks. While the platform offers some flexibility, there were significant drawbacks that made it a challenging experience for freelancers.

Low Pay and Inconsistent Earnings:

The advertised rate of $12 per minute is misleading. In reality, the actual pay is much lower, averaging around $4 per minute. Is it fraud or something? This significant discrepancy makes it difficult to earn a decent living, even with constant work.

Project Availability and Quality Expectations:

Projects are often scarce, leaving freelancers waiting for new opportunities throughout the day. This pressure can lead to accepting projects at a lower pay rate than initially expected, just to maintain some level of income.

However, Rev maintains incredibly high quality standards. When you've done 95% right and 5% mistake, they say it's bad quality even hard work you've done. There's no opportunity to revise mistakes, and feedback is only provided after submission, potentially leading to unexpected deactivation like mine. I would definitely accept the fact that they request high quality no matter what if they pay me 12 dollars per minute as they advertised. After shut-down of account without warning, they just notify "the decision is final, no reply accepted" , isn't it BS company?

Account Deactivation:

The deactivation process was particularly frustrating. I received two grading notifications regarding my work, but there was no chance to improve. Then, without warning, my account was deactivated. This sudden termination feels unprofessional and unfair.

Overall:
I assume it's kind of exploitation of labor while I believe they hire and dump freelancer as easy as possible with low pay for their sake unlike the blueprint advertise.
While Rev offers some flexibility, the low pay, unrealistic quality expectations, lack of revision opportunities, and potential for sudden deactivation make it a difficult platform for freelancers to build a sustainable income. The advertised rates are misleading, and the actual earnings are barely enough to be considered more than pocket money. There are better options available for those seeking fair compensation and a chance to build a successful freelance career.

REv.com is brilliant

REv.com is clearly designed and structured, transparent, no-fuss provider for (in our case) subtitling of videos. The turnaround time was amazingly short.
I can only recommend Rev.com

The problem is when there is a problem…

The problem is when there is a problem at REV......the staff blames you. They advised me to use one account and I did. I paid them. Transcript never came. I called and they had sent it to an old email address of mine. Of course, they blamed me. THEN the person from REV, Alexandrea, told me that I had indicated the transcript was complete. That was not true. I never indicated that.
THEN I could not get the transcript to print. Yes, I was frustrated and ran my mouth as there were too many problems. THEN Alexdrandra told me it was their job to get me the transcript, and it was up to me to be able to print it.
WOW. Thanks Alexandrea. I got off the phone, played around with a few more buttons on REV website, and was able to print the transcript. I guess Alexandrea either did not know how to print the transcript or just did not care.
