Dear Jac,

We are sorry to hear you've had a bad experience with Retail Active. To my knowledge we have not received a complaint from you directly. If you could kindly email us on shoppersupport@retailactive.com with the details of your concern, we will be able to address it accordingly and hopefully be able to resolve this as a matter of priority.

We look forward to hearing from you.
Thank you, Retail Active

Don’t care about staff

Don’t care about staff. I took a very small job a few month ago and in short I was told to advent a report or they wouldn’t pay me. I was clear on my email that I would not make the amended I am paid as a shopper for my personal view and I found the proof reader rude dictating to my comments. This organisation pay very little for the size of the report and going off the request to dictate my notes they clearly do not give clear and honest reports thus a waste of the clients time. I said I would taken them to court and they paid me claiming it was a error. It wasn’t a error I have screenshots, emails and recorded phone calls to prove otherwise.
I hope the very disgraceful treatment was worth it. They pay less than £8 for a report. Very poor. If your a business looking for a company that values staff. Try Flexforce or reach highlight recommend these agency’s

Obnoxious & rude operations manager

Well it’s certainly interesting to see how Retail Active are unable to comprehend how advising someone that they’ll look into the location and get right back to them turns into them actually believing that not responding for almost an hour is not only acceptable, but in fact their fault. It’s their fault that being told someone will come back to you really means it’s your responsibility to find out the information for yourself because well the issue wasn’t related to the opening times and then I could have checked lots of other bits of information that apparently Retail Active don’t have the time or interest in providing accurately or when you contact them to ask if you expect a response when they know you’re already at the location but can’t find the premises you need to wait longer than an hour unpaid until it’s convenient for them to come back to you.

To be clear all this from a person that can’t even use the telephone system correctly themselves and you find your having to embarrassingly wait for them to work out how to connect a call only to find they can’t and waste more of your time.

Allow me to take this opportunity to truly thank you for your wisdom and rest assured I’ll understand now completely not to contact Retail Active going forward if I’m stuck as you don’t help. But I do thank you for the obnoxious and inappropriate manner that you felt was applicable for this call.

May I suggest That possibly Penny may be able to upscale some of your development areas if you’d like suggestions of what they are believe me I’m only too happy to assist. Certainly Penny has a much more realistic perspective on these matters and whilst I’m sure you outrank her by position, I’m afraid it’s not like common sense in relation to this matter as she has self thankfully has a more realistic outlook on the matter than you do. That being said do you let me congratulate you in your role as well since I’ve seen nothing to justify it, I am fully aware that your role is much more than dealing with complaints. That is something I believe we should all be thankful for if today’s rudeness was any measurement of your own standards.

Please do get in touch if there’s anything on there that you feel unfair as it forms most of my next review of Retail Active and I believe in fairness and transparency so would hate to misrepresent our interaction.

A DECENT MYSTERY SHOPPING COMPANY UNLIKE YOMDEL

This is a proper mystery shopping company. I have done this for 15 years and in all that time I can honestly say I have not had one single issue working for Retailactive. Their work is quality the staff are all professional yet friendly and make earning a living easy and pay you on time every month.

Excellent company to work for!

I have nothing but praise for Retail Active. Thoroughly friendly, helpful staff and they have always paid me in full as promised I would recommend Retail Active without hesitation.

(If you study the bad reviews, they are either years old and/or for a scam website of a similar name.)

fussy company

some mystery shopper companies have 2 pay dates this only has one so you may be waiting an awful long time for your pay to go in. then there is the question of doing the surveys they want precise accurate attention to detail so be very careful and READ THAT BRIEF if you decide to register and do any work for this company. Be careful of GFK they don't pay on time for Oyster card visits too. If you want work try marketforce, gapbusters, gfk, retail active, grassroots

Just be sure to read the assignment …

Just be sure to read the assignment notes very carefully as one mistake and you may not be paid, I ordered the wrong pasty, so fair dues, did not get paid for that one. Their payment policy is 25th of every month in arrears so since I started with them in July should get paid for my July assignments any day now

Not worth the hassle

I have done a total of 10 assignments but have only been paid for 6. Every time I call I get excuses about the system and told I will be paid at the end of the month but it never seems to happen. I get the feeling that I am not being paid due to incompetence rather than anything malicious. I have on 3 occasions been called by staff to be told, the good news, that the money should be in my account in a day or two and I should check to confirm that this is the case. Each time I have checked no money has been paid in and when I call I am given more excuses about the system and how the IT team will need to take a look into the matter.

At this point I have giving up as I don’t have the patience or energy to deal with the company.

True Fraud

I received my letter and 2 money orders for $950 each to begin my secret shopping today. While doing my due diligence I contacted the bank in CA that they were drawn on to confirm they were legitimate. The numbers were and my name was as well, but the dollar amounts were not. They would not tell me how much they should have been, but by the sound of the tellers voice it seemed though they weren't even close.
They ask you to purchase MoneyPaks, (prepaid money cards), to do your shopping with. Prior to you shopping, you must send them the 14 digit ID number off of the back of the cards.
They will not give you your "secret shopping" assignment until after you have sent them the ID numbers. This allows them to use those cards online. The person who is unaware of this finds out once they go to use the actual cards and finds they have no money on them. Also, your bank finds out that the money orders were no good, and charge you back. I would have been out $1900!!
My contact was a Charles Turner, (hr@retailactive.net). BEWARE!!
I will note this, Retailactive .com may be legitimate, but .net is not.

Never pay on time and often under pay

I have worked for this company for about a year. When I started for a days surveying work they paid about £80. It went down to £50 and then just £35. I rarely mystery shop with them, but have done when they have phoned me up desperate and offered extra cash, only the extra payments are never made unless you chase them up. I have done because although each payment is small between £3 and £10 all together it is added up to about £50 in total. Payments have also been late , on one occassion I was told it was because they were waiting for a payment in from a client. Obviously the company has cash flow issues. There are several mystery shopping and surveying companies around so I would advise you to try one of the others and avoid these cash strapped amateurs like plague.
