Do I have to select a star
Do I have to select a star? Less than one star would be about right to rate my experience with RW this year. I've had nothing but problems with RW since January. Way too much to go into now. Currently, I'm at a loss of how to get reimbursed over $300 for monthly plan payments for a line that apparently never got disconnected. In fact, unless RW does something about it, I'm going to continue to be charged every month for a plan/phone that has not been in service since August 2021, we cancelled my daughter's phone line from her phone because her phone was giving her problems and the service to the phone was also not dependable and there was some issue with her email address that made her account inaccessible. Her tickets were left unanswered. At the time, it was difficult to receive any help for this issue from a competent person. A new phone was ordered and a new number and new account set up.
I thought everything was fine, until recently when I went to cancel other family line accounts with RW, my bank account continued to show a charge. When I realized this and sorted out the issue, I called RW (yesterday). I was on hold for over 90 minutes waiting to speak with human. The rep insisted I log into the account associated with the number I cancelled last August so they could access the billing. I told them that the phone did not exist anymore, the email was obsolete, and that the password and PIN were unknown. They told me they would be unable to help me if I couldn't access the email or remember the PIN. I tried to call the RW phone number listed on the transaction at my bank and that put me into a loop, too. It said I should find all the info I needed on my account on the website but we all know that something like this cannot be handled on the website. If something doesn't happen, I'm going to be forever getting charged on the 30th of the month for service that hasn't been used. Already, Republic Wireless owes me $300.77. I would appreciate a full refund and that I receive no future charges for this account that is inaccessible.

No service since switching to Dish on June 23rd
We've had 3 lines on Republic Wireless for 7 years with no issues. We switched to Dish on June 23rd and one of the phones is still without service. First it was a faulty SIM card and now, despite daily calls, and many, many tickets later, the line is still without service. No one, except for one tech named, Brian (he was great - sorry you have to work there Brian, you can do much better), has any idea what's going on. I'm told that no one can do anything. It's a "back office" issue and that there is no way to contact this mysterious "back office". This is absolutely ridiculous and I'm still being charged for the line! I will continue to call everyday, but after reading all of the other reviews, I know it is hopeless. I am currently shopping for new service and will switch ASAP. This is no way to run a company.

Worst experience ever, so disappointed.
This is the worst service I have ever received! After waiting for 25 minutes, my first call was dropped by the rep. After waiting again, the second person had me start all over again and couldn't get me through a basic plan upgrade. I had to ask to speak to a supervisor multiple times and was only handed over after an hour on the second call. Supervisor wasn't available and I was asked if I could wait hours? What? I can't get a straight answer and am in a worse position than when I started. I will be switching service after this as it is clear I can't rely on Republic Wireless.

Shameful business
I see all the reviews are the same, I have had no phone working for 2 months, ever since the new Sim cards were installed no one at dish/RW can fix the problem. You will have to purchase new phones is the only answer. As soon as Mint can get RW on the phone for a transfer PIN# services will be changed. Normal business when a bigger company takes a smaller company over.

2022 & Onward Republic with Dish is awful, avoid them! They will steal your money!
They replied saying to reach out on here I see, that's laughable, I already have... 9 times !!! Over the past 2 months trying to get my money back. Hours of my life wasted & my hard earned money taken from me!

After CONVERSION
Last week all RW services, except Internet, on my phone stopped working. They told me my service went through "conversion". After hours with support some services are still not working. I am now thoroughly discussed with them. They never communicated to me their plans to make changes to my service. This outage was a great inconvenience. DISH has again messed up what was a good company. Hope the Republic Wireless sellouts can live happily after trading their success over to failure.

I just experienced a nightmare
I just experienced a nightmare. I'll be as succinct as possible. I've been a customer since 2017, give or take a year. Paid my bill on time every month. Received a notice on my phone on Tuesday that I needed to update service (huh???) After my attempt was unsuccessful I contacted the customer service line. After a lengthy, horrible, unable to understand the rep conversation I was finally told they had upgraded and I needed to insert a new SIM card. (Thanks for the prior notice) They would send me one that would arrive in a couple of days. WHAT??? SWF living alone in the wilderness and phone is my only way to get help. Now I'm without a phone. Ok, I wait 'patiently' until new sim card arrives. Follow instructions. Nope, won't work.
Yay, time to call rep again. Another lengthy conversation. Bottom line, I have to purchase a new phone that will accommodate their upgrade. I should look at their website to shop for a new one. ARE YOU KIDDING ME???? Can't begin to say how disappointed I am. Was with no phone from Tuesday until Saturday. Glad there wasn't an emergency. Just sign me DISGUSTED

I'm also leaving RW
I seem to be in a long line of long time RW customers looking elsewhere. The Dish takeover has been nothing but problematic and I rely on my phone for work. I understand some glitches but this has been months. I can't keep having business interruptions so I'm switching.

I agree with the negative comments…
I agree with the negative comments regarding the recent switch to Dish ownership. Never had an issue until recently, voice mail not working. Customer service was no help, and actually quite clueless in their ability to resolve. Switched to Mint, voice mail working and twice the data for the same price.

Hate yourself? Join Republic Wireless!
They cancelled my service in response to a port request and have been unwilling to fix it. They keep delaying the deadline and keep breaking promises for updates. This used to be a decent company, but now they just don't care. And, these days, they aren't even close to being a deal compared to their competitors.
EDIT: And now they've replied with a canned request for me to call them. As though I haven't called multiple times before bothering to put out negative reviews. Good grief.

Looks like I'm not the only one going through this nightmare.
Merely wanted to change my plan and I have had no service for almost a week.
No calls or text.
The SIM card does not work.
Customer service has been a joke.
I think that they are doing this so that people will buy their phones.
Thanks Republic, thanks for messing up. I have been with you for 9 years, and had no problems.
Since Dish bought it out, well just look at the reviews. Shame on you.
I'm going to file a complaint with the Illinois attorney general's office. After reading these reviews, it's plain to see that you have misled many people.

Once a decent company - no more!
You complain about Republic Wireless's customer service and the inability to reach anyone who seems to know how to get anything done, and their response to you is to refer you to some social media site where the process of contacting anybody is just as absurd. There seems to be no way to contact anyone in authority in this organization. It's simply mind-boggling.

TRASH
Republic Wireless worked well until Dish Network bought them in 2022. It's now TERRIBLE!!!!!! The service on the phone went down the toilet and they don't answer the phone...no livechat option either. They're just plain AWFUL. I'm in the process of switching to Ting right now as my sister likes them.

Horrible customer service
Horrible customer service! Don't use this company...they were bad enough before joining Dish. Now I have no service after getting my new sim card that I had to pay for in order to upgrade to 5G and have service? Nothing that I wanted! The new world order doesn't sit well with me!

Dish nightmare…
I've been a Republic wireless member since the beginning and had nothing but a positive experience with them. The minute d i s h took over the nightmare began. I have had no phone service for 11 days. I have been pawned off from one customer service rep to another, giving the same bad information with nothing to back it up. Because the SIM card they sent did not work I was told they would send another. I called to check up on it today and they said it was on back order. And this is after 11 days with no carrier service! I feel like I have wasted way too many hours of my life in an exercise of frustration. I canceled my membership today

Republic left me hanging
Just this past week my text stopped working. I found out it's because Republic is switching to 5.0. I had no warning. Then had to wait for a new SIM card in the mail. At least I still had phone calls with the old SIM card. Put the new one in and now I have neither calls nor texts. Supposedly a 5-day wait for the port to complete. I will be seeking out a different company. I blame the new parent company for this. Dish

I have been with republic wireless for 10 years loved it since dish has bought them what a joke I wanted to up grade my account and they said I needed to replace my sim card and my phone has not worked since this has been going on for a month now. Don't have any thing good to say about the support structure.

Republic wireless support FAILURE
Republic wireless support has always been marginal at best. But here lately it has been terrible. They have phone support through some place out of the united states and the people there barely speak English clearly enough to be understood. The other issue is that they are reading from a script with no real experience to diagnose issues. They repeat themselves after you have tried to follow them and then repeat themselves again after what you have tried has failed.
