Recocash-Fraudulent...
I rented a car from Europcar France in the summer of 2024. Upon returning the car on my departure day, the Europcar representative inspected it, checked their tablet, and confirmed that everything was in order. I was informed that my receipt would be emailed to me.
Approximately a month later, I received an email from Europcar's recovery department demanding payment. I promptly responded, providing a screenshot of my bank statement as proof of payment. Concurrently, I contacted Europcar Customer Service to inquire about the emails. Two representatives replied, suggesting a possible clerical error or misunderstanding, and confirmed receipt of my payment, stating they would investigate the issue.
Subsequently, I began receiving emails from Recocash demanding a payment of 1,308 euros, referencing a Europcar transaction. I responded, explaining the situation and including Europcar's confirmation of my payment. However, I received no reply, only another email threatening legal action if the payment was not made. I have emailed them several times requested documentation to substantiate their claim, but nothing.
Europcar acknowledges my payment and is investigating, while Recocash continues to make demands without responding to my communications. It appears their focus is on recovering money rather than verifying the facts, despite Europcar's confirmation that no payment is due.
