Breach of Confidentiality and Rudeness
Somebody internal at RBC changed the address on my accounts with no authorization. Two months worth of M/C statements were mailed to an incorrect address, breaching my confidentiality, they confirmed this. Then customer care told the branch to print all of the statements I wanted so I could pick them up the next day. Next day, go to the branch. "Helped" by branch manager. No statements printed and very rude behavior. I called customer care again, they made him call to apologize which he did but very defensively. I did remind him that we live in a very small town but he didn't care. Rubbish organization.
Called RBC to find out what warranty…
Called RBC to find out what warranty coverage a Visa card has with them, I was not asking them to touch any money or move any money, just what coverage you have when using a RBC visa to purchase something, she asks me a bunch of questions you could only answer if you had you banking open, there fore she could not advise what kind of coverage the visa card would have, as I said I never asked them to touch any account, it was just a question, she then told me to go to the website for the answer, the answer was not available,
This is the 2nd bad experience I have had with RBC and not impressed for someone who has banked with them for 40 years,
may be it is time to move on if your people cannot give answers about the products you have

Jarred Bathen is very racist and should not be leading any business ventures. Check that man's social media page. It tells you everything you need to know about this guy and gives the business a horrible name.
has anyone noticed that with RBC you…
has anyone noticed that with RBC you really can’t track your money they only put the withdrawals but they don’t itemize it for you. I’ve noticed now with Scotiabank whenever I do a purchase underneath every transaction you’ll see what’s left of your money. So it’s easy to track.
“I have been a client of RBC for over…
“I have been a client of RBC for over two decades, and this is the first time I feel compelled to express my disappointment. Unfortunately, my recent experience with the service advisor name Neda Eslami was far below the standard I have come to expect. Communication was poor, follow-up was lacking, and my concerns were not handled with the care or professionalism expected from a long-standing banking relationship.” She is not deserve to get paid as a service advisor of this profitable and stablished bank in Canada. I hope this message will get an attention from the management of RBC.
10 visits/calls to close an account
I closed my account and staff confirmed it was shut down only to find out months later that charges were still being added to my account with purchase interest. I have called and visited them 10 times already and still no confirmation it has been dealt with. Will be escalating to the ombudsman. Terrible company. Do not bank with them.
RBC is not an international bank. I have trying to order a wire transfer…
I have trying to order a wire transfer from the UK. I am a former HSBC client who used to enjoy international service. I've been systematically disconnected after waiting online 3 times in a row after more than a half hour on the phone each time. They insist that wire transfers can only be done in branch but I am a non-resident Canadian client so can't fly there to make a transfer. Noone can help me and when they don't know what to do, they hang up on me. So my money is trapped in Canada. They can send my money outside Canada and inside all I'm offered is a daily 10k e-transfer which is not adequate and requires email. I can't even transfer to another bank in Canada. RBC has whole wealth investment businesses in London so I can't believe they are unable to do a Swift transfer in CAD inside or outside Canada. The phone staff are not trained to do anything a bit more difficult. I am so frustrated! Computer says No. Ahhhhh!

Could not assist with credit card pin recovery. Very unhelpful. Am in Mexico with no way home.

RBC's promotions are just a gimmick to lure people into opening new accounts; neither their counter service nor their online support can help resolve the issues. Are they deliberately trying to scam people, or are RBC staff simply incompetent?
Simply THE WORST bank in Canada
Simply THE WORST bank in Canada! If you have time and money to waste, try it yourself.
Misrepresentation, Inconsistency, and Institutional Risk
RBC customer service provided inconsistent and misrepresented information regarding my account, with multiple employees giving conflicting guidance. This creates a serious risk of future financial harm, compliance issues, and irreversible account errors.
Despite repeated contact, no one took ownership, no corrections were documented, and no follow-up occurred. In a financial institution, inaccurate guidance isn’t a minor inconvenience it’s a liability. This experience has significantly undermined my trust in RBC’s ability to manage customer accounts responsibly.
Called RBC customer service
Called RBC customer service, and they couldn’t even tell me anything useful why the account was overdrawn. It seems that they think the account was overdrawn because I had overdrawn it. But here’s the thing. I had funds to cover the purchases. I even asked them if it had to do with delay in posting transactions. They couldn’t even tell me the answer I was looking for.
genuinely the worst customer service…
genuinely the worst customer service and i never write reviews. my card was fraudulently charged 4 times and they did nothing about it. and apparently they have 20 different departments that do the same thing so if you get help from one the others can’t track the call. first time i called they simply told me to lock my cards. no action was taken. then it was blamed on me that i didn’t cancel my card. so stupid.
This has been the most frustrating experience
This has been the most frustrating, confusing and futile process trying to open accounts with RBC. I set up an account online, did the verification process, went into a branch to complete it - but they didn't have anyone who could do so, so I had to make an appointment at another branch who required me to do the same online verification that I had done at home, again. But this time it wasn't working. Now that I have a new account I'm not able to sign into my old account - it just says technical issues each time and I'm not able to find the account to add it as a billing company. What's going on?? This is so ridiculous. I've literally wasted three days and can't do any proper banking or connect my accounts, I have multiple account numbers and it's unclear to me if anything has been set up properly. This is not the RBC I remember, I just want to cancel it all and start over somewhere else :(
RBC refuses to Help Clients Reduce Interest Burden
RBC refused to allow me to transfer an existing credit card balance to a lower-interest RBC card, despite this being a responsible attempt to reduce interest costs — not increase debt.
No meaningful explanation was provided, no alternatives were offered, and there was zero flexibility shown. The response was rigid, dismissive, and completely contradicted RBC’s constant marketing about supporting financial well-being.
Denying a balance transfer within the same bank doesn’t reduce risk — it traps clients in higher interest and increases financial strain.
This experience seriously damaged my trust in RBC. If you’re looking for a bank that actually helps when you try to manage your finances responsibly, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere.
This branch is one of the best we use

Today Sunday January 17 2026 I lost my wallet all my 2 business accounts and my personal account cards and credit cards all gone with my wallet I called RBC to stop the cards they gave me hard time with stupid questions I called 4 times all didn't failed and my cards are stil working anyone can use them I don't know how to stop those cards . This very bad service RBC is not that good bank
Worst bank in Canada
RBC is equal to or the worst bank in Canada. Their customer service has gone down the toilet and they don't give a shit about their customers. When I originally joined RBC their customer service was very good - which is why I joined. Now they have foreign workers who don't speak English well who are rude. Last night I was hung up on twice trying to get help after they locked my account for no reason, and told me I'd have to visit a branch on Monday to get it unlocked. So 2 days with no access to my money, with zero explanation. I've now opened accounts at other banks and will be moving all my assets. Oh, I'm also an RBC shareholder, so their crap service affects me that way too. Total shit!
