Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 83 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people found the user experience severely hindered by frequent, intrusive ads that disrupt their study flow and cause the platform to lag or crash. Customers also expressed significant dissatisfaction with the subscription model, noting that essential features are now behind a paywall, and some experienced misleading free trials that led to immediate charges or unexpected auto-renewals. The website and app functionality are often criticized for being buggy, slow, and difficult to navigate, with users encountering issues like rate-limiting errors and lost work. However, some customers also noted that the platform was previously very helpful for exam preparation and studying, with some finding it useful for achieving good grades.

Absolutely awful. Having to pay for a flashcard website is a joke. There's a ton of other websites that you can use that allow you to share, export, or combine study guides with ease. I can also go bu... See more

Horrible

Horrible, so horrible.

Every feature costs money now, and it isnt even cheap

If the features were reasonably priced it would be okay.

Even though their AI system for…

Even though their AI system for language learning conversation was flaky, it was nevertheless a good idea. Suddenly they required an upgrade to use it (with no warning) just after my subscription had auto renewed. So i have another year of this very poor flashcard system. support@quizzlet is no longer answered. Not a good service

This app is so greedy

This app is so greedy. Should educational sources not be more accessible? It is so astounding to see a resource I used in high school be completely downgraded due to paywalls and inaccessibility. Corporate greed is just another contributing factor to increased illiteracy rates.

DO NOT RECOMMEND - no user support or service/tool update article emails, & uses sneaky, under the radar emails reminders to keep you on automatic payments. RUDE

They don’t send you ANY sort of email notifications besides 1 email (30 days prior to your subscription renewal) and then the next one with the receipt of your subscription charge.

Very upset that this company obviously is doing this intentionally as others do as well.
I have been charged for 3 years now with only the 1 reminder email each year ONE MONTH from the charge and then the following email is the receipt.
No user updates? No service changes? No support team comms? Nothing??? Just one email reminder and one receipt. Also, receiving the emails about the charges in the middle of the night. Sounds very shady if you ask me but I’ll let that go somewhat due to time zones and locations but not convinced fully this isn’t a part of their marketing scheme here.

Veryyyyyy dissatisfied with this company. Will not recommend to anyone and will be sure to let them know of their extremely minimal communication styles and tricky tactics to keep you subscribing.

Frustrating to use

Cards are inaccurate and will mark it wrong unless you say the exact thing that IT wrote instead of the right answer.
E.G- le Père Noël, it won't accept 'Santa Claus' or 'Father Christmas', it will only accept 'Santa Claus (Father Christmas)'
Use a better website.

Quizlet Taking Money (under false pretences)

Be very careful with this company, they took money from me for a subscription even though I no longer use them and when I raised an issue with paypal, the case was refused because Quizlet claim they have delivered the product!
We no longer use it, my daughter has forgotten the login details so there is no way to unsubscribe....
Quizlet Please return my money!

Horrendous company - poor customer service

This is a horrendous company with no way of contacting their customer service, everything is done through bots. They automatically renewed my son's one year subscription without his knowledge or my approval as account holder and took money from my credit card despite never using the account. They refuse to refund, even though many reputable companies will refund when they have automatically opted you in and extended the subscription without your knowledge. This is not a reputable company and should be avoided otherwise it will be a very costly experience.

Customer support isn't focus on customer satisfactory

I checked the reviews beforehand, and I saw how bad is the reputation of the company. Since it is mainly about that the company isn't free anymore (which should be normal) I gave them a try.

Sadly I was dissappointed, customer support isn't focus on customer satisfactory. They lost thousands of euros because of this. After this surely will choose another company.

Quizlet could be great but presently is not.

I've spent many hours, first creating several personal decks in Quizlet, then trying to move forward with spaced repetition. Alas with no success. I assumed that it is possible to use spaced repetition as the descriptive text on the web site is littered with statement extolling the benefits.

However I have found other users that are unable to find the benefits of spaced repetition within Quizlet. I have come to the conclusion it has GONE!

That’s pretty poor behaviour by the company.

My other adventures have fortunately proved useful - Anki Pro is looking good. But do avoid ordinary Anki. It’s full of bugs and great complexity, and is run by volunteers who will likely have insufficient time to invest in the product.
