Car insurance excess claim

Car insurance excess claim - refused to cover unless they received a 'tax invoice'. Car hire company refused to provide and so they refused to refund the claim despite me submitting proof of the damages, credit card showing deductions etc. Basically, if your car hirer fails to provide the 'tax invoice' they refuse to pay anything . Utter scam!!

Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review, we’re sorry that you were unsatisfied with the claim experience.

As with any insurance claim our claim handlers are required to review documents to substantiate all claims, the tax invoice is an important document which shows the final charges including any administration fees or additional costs charged by the rental company. This should be provided by the rental company to evidence what they have charged you for.

The claim team have not declined your claim, they have advised that they cannot assess your claim at the moment without the necessary documents. I appreciate this ii frustrating, the claim handlers have offered to assist you in obtaining the documents they need by contacting your rental company alongside your attempts.

Nice to see some companies reward for loyalty. Well done.
Shame I had to argue with Europcar when faced with the ‘Hard Sell’ trying to make me spend 1200 euros on car insurance that i did not want. They literally told me that my excess insurance was insufficient several time.

Peace of Mind. My car hire excess insurance was very…

My hire car excess insurance was very easy to arrange online and was reasonably priced. In about the third year of cover I made a claim having experienced a cracked windscreen for which the car hire company deducted over £600 from my credit card. Questor refunded the amount within days with no fuss. I would recommend Questor to anyone seeking peace of mind when hiring cars abroad.
