Compared to other insurance companies Purely Pets do pay out on most thing. But always read the small print as they change things as the years go by and you don't realise when you come to claim what originally said £4000 is now only £2000

My cat is old and we are stuck with the insurer as per condition that will not be covered by other insurers. So, every year the increase in the premiums is £12 to £15 extra per month.
Not nice to be honest. Only claimed once and that’s it for that condition across insurers.

Choose insurers carefully
Painfully slow at responding to emails regarding claims. It's like a war of attrition, likely done intentionally to encourage people to give up. Following one claim premiums have dramatically jumped year on year. No precision quotation based on risk clearly just slapping on an extra 8-10 per month repeatedly. When asked for clarification on how the increase is calculated just a blanket pass the blame onto the underwriters.

Have been a customer since we added our dog to the family, I think customer service is good and I like that I call up and speak to someone and within decent time. Easy to deal with but premiums are getting a little ridiculous, reasoning is too scripted for price increases and while I understand certain areas, there is actually no consideration for my dogs health in the premium. I was loyal to PP because of the service and clarity but now feel I don't have much choice because my dog has a "pre-existing health condition" which has not been a factor for some time. Any claim I make now will have me feeling like I will be punished in my next premium for it. It's how insurance works though, and pet insurance is all about preying on the love for your pet, no other provider would be different!
