After 10 years of being a loyal PureGym member, I’ve finally decided to leave.
Unfortunately, the gym has gone downhill. It’s dirty, poorly organised, and often feels more like a social club than a place to train. There are too many teenagers standing around chatting instead of working out, making it difficult to use the equipment.
The facilities are in a terrible state. Many locker and changing room doors are broken, the toilets smell awful, and there is no proper air conditioning, making the gym very uncomfortable, especially during busy times.
My final reason for leaving was a very unpleasant experience with one of the personal trainers at the Borehamwood branch, whose behaviour was completely unprofessional and unacceptable.
It’s disappointing to see how much the standards have dropped over the years. Instead of renewing my membership, I’ve decided it’s time to invest in a professional home gym.
I hope PureGym takes these issues seriously and starts improving the experience for its long-term members.

Nice & Healthy Environment Good Equipment

I generally like it here but I don't like how they are 3 seated leg extension machines but only 1 seated leg curl machine. 😤 Especially when there are also 2 lying leg curl (less optimal than seated leg curls). I just wish there was more than one seated leg curl machine.

I love it, best and most secure gym I've ever been to, you just find what works for you as there are so many things and I like how it's not too busy when in the changing rooms, I've become so comfortable, mainly due to the staff, and I hadn't been for a few weeks, you get what you need from your workout😊

Very safe for women even quite hours.

Lovely gym, not too busy but also not too quiet. Running machine was fab. Weight machines were being used but the wait time was absolutely minimal. It could have been cooler but this is likely my run and the hot weather, as opposed to the actual gym temperature!

Once I got past the AI the human representative handled the issue I was having with switching from a free to paid account. There was some delay in the response but based on the time I made contact I feel it’s to be expected.

Bristol Union Gate Gym disappointment.
Just moved to the area, i was recently at Pure Gym in Bournemouth which i loved, so naturally joined Pure Gym in Bristol (Union Gate). I unfortunately had to cancel my membership there as firstly 1. lots of guys used the gym to just hang again, one time there were men taking pictures of the women working out. 2, there was no female staff, a very male dominated gym, 3. there was just something off with the environment i did not feel comfortable going there in the evening. Its a very outdated gym and overall would not recommend this gym to a female.

Clean area, amazing personal trainer - Henry baker-Holmes he is so dedicated to his work always a good laugh each PT session. Every time I see him he always pushes me to help me gain muscle growth and he is an overall amazing person. Even if ur injured he tailors the workout to make sure no more strain is put on the injury.
