Serious Concerns About Account Locking and Distribution Reliability
I used PubShare primarily as an additional distribution channel for my existing catalog of approximately 160 technical, engineering, and business books, particularly to reach Kobo and Nook.
During the process of adding my existing titles, two books triggered AI disclosure warnings. Shortly afterward, my account was locked, and approximately 12 books that had already been distributed to Kobo were withdrawn from sale, including titles that had been available for about a month.
My concern is not simply that individual titles encountered publishing errors. It is that the account-level action affected previously distributed books as well, without a clear explanation of the status of each title or the process for restoring distribution.
I have contacted PubShare directly and through its support form, requesting a manual review, clarification of the specific AI disclosure concerns, and confirmation of what happens to existing and future sales and royalties while the account remains locked.
For an established publisher managing a substantial backlist, the reliability of distribution and the handling of account restrictions are essential. A problem affecting a small number of titles should not leave the status of an entire distributed catalog uncertain.
I hope PubShare will provide a clear explanation, review the flagged titles individually, and clarify the steps required to restore the affected books and account access.
Based on my experience so far, I have serious concerns about the reliability and transparency of the platform's account and distribution processes.
