Publisher Collective isn't great to work with. I have worked with them for around 9 years when it was called Snigel. When Snigel merged with Publisher Collective, the payments stopped coming, and the people's behaviour altogether changed, maybe because of the change in upper management.

I was with Publisher Collective and Network N for almost 5 years. Before I joined, they showed me complex spreadsheets showing how much more money I would make with them compared to Adsense. Sure, when I joined, the revenue was higher than Adsense but not by much. Nowhere near the levels of what they suggested so ever since then, I felt pretty misled by them but stayed with them out of laziness really. I did say at the start that traffic to my website ebbs and flows depending on what movie is coming out.

In January 2026, I received an email telling me that they were ending our partnership, claiming that traffic had fallen in the last few months. Sure, but that's to be expected since our traffic is dependent on whether a new film in our series is coming out. When I queried it, all I got was a robotic reply repeating what I'd just said. It's funny, in my original contract, it says that either party would have had to give 3 months' notice to terminate the agreement. They just gave me 10 days to clear off.

It's somewhat bittersweet. I am glad to be gone, really. This is a company that doesn't seem to care and is quite happy to break its own contracts.

After a number of years with Publisher Collective, we were unceremoniously dropped from their group, with two weeks' notice. This broke their own contract (three-month terms on both sides), and when this was questioned, we were told there was nothing they could do.

However, after this was set to go through, we were then offered an opportunity to stay with the group. I will continue to update this rating based on our ongoing experience in rebuilding our working relationship.

In our quest to improve our programmatic revenues (after a slow year 2023) we contacted a couple of monetization companies, in February 2024. However, we did not initially select Snigel, we proceeded with another company. I don't remember why.

That other company generated more money than what we did before, so we were not looking to switch again. However, Snigel was gracious to keep in touch with us and to invite us to give their technology a try, no strings attached. They were very confident to outperform our current provider, and I was impressed by their level of confidence. We agreed to run a test. That was May 2024.

The setup process was very smooth and pleasant. I enjoyed the welcoming zoom meeting. The conversation was super friendly and we could discuss right away the technicalities of the onboarding process.

From the day one, when the Snigel tags went live on our website, we were tremendously impressed by the immediate improvement in performance, on all levels. In terms of revenues, they immediately jumped up over 20%, but it is not what impressed us the most. Their tags are light and load super fast. The ads appear on the page quicker. The quality of the ads is noticeably cleaner. There are no weird ads at all. Our Core Web Vitals improved.

The setup of the Snigel tags was very easy. Snigel suggested the ad placements at the top of the pages, we agreed, and their ad engine takes care of the lower ad placements automatically. There is something very peculiar and refreshing (pun) about the ad placements, and about the way that the Snigel server loads ads. These ads grab attention but they don't bother our users!

The Snigel personnel is very friendly and knowledgeable, from technical to accounting. They all know what they do. It's a pleasure! :) Considering that their team is located across the ocean, they respond very timely, and the communication is flawless. The payments arrived quicker than expected.

Overall, after 10 weeks of great performance, we are confident to report that Snigel offers a very significant improvement from the previous companies that we worked with.
