Booked a room for 5 nights, but no room was held

Booked a room for 5 nights, received confirmation number for the reservation, non-refundable in the amount of $1200, The hotel (Hilton Garden Inn Columbus/Grove City) does not honor 3rd party reservations and offered no recourse, just told us they were all booked up and our reservation was no good. No notification from Hilton or Priceline. They still have the $1200 but are escalating the complaint to consider a refund.

No rooms

Books hotel rooms without availability at the hotel, leaving me in a bad place, then makes it nearly impossible to cancel the reservation. Customer service is booking dot com, an AI chatbot with useless information, a telephone number automated service that gets everything wrong in their stream of pointless questions, then when I do get a real person it's from a slave-labor India call center with someone who doesn't care in the least, giving more pointless questions about a very simple issue, you sold a room that isn't there and I'm stranded with nowhere to stay and have to lock my credit card to prevent charges on a room that I couldn't get. When reporting this issue, the response was "Unfortunately, we verified that the check-in instructions provided by the accommodation were not followed"

This company appears to be running a scam

This company is running a scam. They book your flight by adding a 50 dollar fee on top of the cost of booking direct and then use their credit card to book with the airline on your behalf, but in my case the flight was Pending and never confirmed. Then refused after many calls and trouble to refund. The airline sent me confirmation of refund to Priceline's credit card and even so I was refused a refund by priceline. This seems criminal to me.

If I could give this site 0 stars I would. They are scamming people. Do not book your flights, hotels or cars through them. In order to get a refund or credit to make any changes they force you to pay more money and won’t give you full credit or refund.

The customer service is awful.

We rented a car from Priceline in Tampa…

We rented a car from Priceline in Tampa Bay Florida, as we realize the rental isn't at the airport then we get picked up to go to the place where the rental car is and it looks like a trailer trash place. People were rude and we find out it's NU car rental a 3rd party. They charged extra for toll pass, then tell us only one driver when it clearly stated to drivers online. They give us our vehicle which is smaller than pictured. We ask for an upgrade which is 300 bucks more. Then we arrive at NU to take the car rental back and they have no one to get us to the airport, told us we arrived too late, when we clearly were told to drop it off by noon. The girl there was extremely rude and you could barely understand a word she said. She told us she would ask her boss if she could take us to the airport, we waited outside. Decided to go in and she said sorry I can't take you. At this time, we had to call Lyft to take us to the airport, more money. I know we will never rent from Priceline again. You need to let people know it maybe a 3rd party. Worst experience of our life. Almost missed our flight, thanks to great Lyft driver for getting us there on time.

Don't waste your money or time getting a fly with priceline extremely greedy. Even with family emergency they wont help no one, they wont change the flight or refund. Is better to pay the extra money or find another company that can help you flight for cheaper than Priceline. Now I have lost over $500.00 even with insurances because priceline wants to be greedy an all and not do a refund or change the date

Bait and Switch: Priceline displays false deposit terms to force insurance sales

I am extremely disappointed with Priceline’s lack of transparency and inaccurate booking terms. I booked a rental in Ecuador specifically choosing a car based on the "Rental Policy and Rules" displayed on Priceline’s website.

The Deception:
Priceline’s confirmation explicitly stated that if insurance were declined, the security deposit would be $7,000. However, upon arrival at Europcar, the agent demanded a $15,000 deposit—more than double what was quoted.

When I presented the Priceline terms, the agent claimed Priceline’s information was "incorrect" and refused to honor it. This left me with two options: provide an impossible $15,000 deposit or be forced to buy local insurance for $57 (which was more expensive than the actual rental itself).

The Aftermath:
I contacted Europcar, and they confirmed in writing that their actual deposits start at $15,000 and that the discrepancy is Priceline’s responsibility. "Europcar response on 5/5/2026 is "For rentals that do not include Europcar Ecuador protection packages or that decline such protections, the deposit required is as follows: Economy and Compact Vehicles: Between USD 15,000 and USD 23,000 (MDMR, MDAR, EDMR, EDAR, CDMR, IDMR, CDAR, IDAR, IGMR)."

Priceline is failing to verify the terms they display. By providing outdated or false deposit information, they are leading customers into "trap" scenarios at the rental counter. This is predatory and misleading. I am requesting a full refund of the forced insurance charges caused by Priceline’s misinformation.

Avoid booking car rentals here if you plan on using your own insurance—the terms you see are not the terms you will get.

Only reason I am giving it 1 star i because you can't select 0

Only reason I am giving it 1 star is because 0 doesn't exist . They have a unique model that sounds a good room rate and then add 50% of god knows what taxes and the price balloons . We all know what local taxes are, but property tax, amenity tax . And various other . Scam go elsewhere. Where you understand exactly what you are paying for. Junk taxes and modelling they call this . T

False Advertising on Ins

Priceline advertise travel insurance to cover cancelations for ad additional cost per ticket, when needing to cancel one of the tickets, we were informed that the insurance is 3rd party and we have already paid Priceline so the best they could do was offer a credit, for the person no longer able to go on the trip, which was not how the insurance was advertised, furthermore the company they sell the insurance through does not cover anything but medical or weather related instances, which was not advertised, nor do they have a contact number or customer service option available to try and resolve this issue

Hotel booking randomly canceled less than 2 weeks before arrival.

I had my hotel booked with Priceline over 6 months in advance, I always call the hotels about 2 weeks before my arrival date to confirm that everything is okay. When calling the hotel, they told me that it had been canceled from priceline's end. I called Priceline to see what was going on and they got back to the hotel. The hotel then said that I called the hotel in personally to cance. This absolutely never happened. This runaround is making me replan where to stay on this trip planned half a year advance and I will never work with Priceline again. It's worth spending more money to just go direct to your hotel you want to stay at.

I booked a car:
Sat, May 9 - Sat, May 9 at 'Green Motion' company,
Hollywood Intl Airport (FLL) Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Bait and switch scam! Told me they don't accept "foreign insurance", and then held me hostage to pay an additional $60 USD.

My insurance covers me worldwide. Period.

If I could give 0 stars

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I booked my flight and car reservation through Priceline which I thought was convenient. However, my flight ended up being delayed. Not foreseeing a problem, we arrived at the rental car company, and they considered us “late” and they told me my reservation was canceled. In turn, I was forced to pay an upgrade for an SUV, which is technically not an SUV of $80 additional a week. In addition I was told to pay an additional $290 for “administration” fees, which, I am not aware of what that covers. My return flight was also delayed. However, if I did not return the car within a certain time I would be charged therefore I spent eight hours at the airport, which was not an ideal end to my vacation. Priceline refuses to take responsibility and issue me a refund for what I consider out of my control, but feel penalized. This has completely hindered our vacation. DO NOT BOOK through Priceline. They will take advantage of you! Shame on you Priceline for not making it right to your customers. Never again.

A bunch of misdirection and miscommunication

We booked through Priceline which ended up magically being booked through Booking.com. THEN, 18 hours after the cancellation window closed, Spirit Airlines tells us that they're cancelling flights starting May 2, and our flight is May 15! We called Priceline where the confirmation came from. They tell us to call booking.com. After 30 minutes on hold, booking.com asks us for a pin number that never came with the reservation. Then they accidentally disconnect the call. Ultimately, I reached out directly to the hotel to see if we could be forgiven the 40% cancellation penalty given the extraordinary circumstances of the airline going out of business and being only 18 hours beyond the cancellation window. All of this trouble with the booking and reaching a live, understanding person related to the hotel is the reason for the low review. Priceline has become a bunch of smoke and mirrors as it relates to customer service.
