Hi Knurram, we shared with you five months ago how to cancel your account via support. It looks like it wasn’t done properly, so once we were notified of this issue, you received a full refund. No further issues have been noted.

Press Hook is an unprofessional & unethical company

I'm a journalist (with over 50 years experience) who was invited to join Press Hook and subsequently had many sample requests approved. However, only 1 of them was actually shipped/received. When I complained about that I receive this reply from Kelly on Feb 19, "While we do everything we can to facilitate connections and partnerships between brands and members of the media, sample requests are not a guarantee."

Same day a reply from CEO Michelle: "Apologies to hear this – let me connect with the team and see what we can figure out. Thanks for bringing this to my attention."
It turns out my account was closed WITHOUT NOTICE many days earlier as I could not login or reset my password.

On Feb 20 Talton wrote that I did not meet their criteria of having >10,000 unique views of my articles w/in a 3 month period. "We periodically review media accounts, though feel free to reach out again in a couple of months if you'd like your account reviewed sooner."
I replied stating their firm was unprofessional and requested the confirmed samples to be sent but there was no reply. Uggh!
If possible I would give Presshook 0 STARS!
...............................................................
The Trust Pilot reply from PressHook on April 11th (posted below) has many inaccuracies/lies:
1] It totally contradicts the email received from Talton stating why my account was terminated. See above
2. "I ordered wine in bulk" is a lie because I only received 2 bottles of wine which I was planning to review for Splash Wines where I'm a part owner.
3. Stating "Multiple complaints were received from brands" is preposterous, because I did NOT receive ANY OTHER brand's samples despite many being approved. Not 1 brand messaged or emailed me with a complaint or question
4. I requested a tech product from China to be reviewed as I've done many times for tech websites. Ex: "Review of SideTrak Solo 17.3 inch portable monitor" at IEEE Techblog. The rep of that company messaged that it would be sent after Chinese New Year but it was never received!

Hi Alan, we reviewed your media site and determined you wrote an engineering blog. It became suspicious to us and our clients why you were requesting wine in bulk, and other consumer products not in line with your content. We received multiple complaints from our brands. We do offer Press Hook as a platform for free for media, however we have some ground rules and we can’t allow media to continue use that appear to be abusing the platform. Also we do not send the samples, the brands decide to approve and send product. So that’s not in our control or to our blame. Again, we primarily work with consumer goods and lifestyle brands and media. If you think you were suspended wrongly you can file an appeal to support@presshook.com - please include your UVPM, DA, and current articles that are in line with consumer lifestyle. Thank you.
