What a disgrace the reception staff are…

What a disgrace the reception staff are so rude and totally unhelpful, we turned up for our break which was a confirmed booking only to be told that we can’t stay as they have hired out the whole place to a private booking they weren’t even bothered that we had a booking and they wouldn’t even discuss a refund

Terrible customer services in dealing…

Terrible customer services in dealing with issues/concerns related to their website online booking - which currently does not allow you to book and complete the accommodation process. It kept showing errors on the website with the following error messages: "The amount of seniors does not match your group total of 0 please check the ages. The amount of adults does not match your group total of 2 please check the ages" - even though all the relevant information had been correctly entered with age etc.

However, the worst experience was actually related to Reception (751 pontins com) who simply responded via email without addressing you nor a name (just signed as Reception) as though you are dealing with an AI agent/robot! More importantly, they did not even bother/mention to contacting their IT team to follow-up on fixing this major software issue.

The Senior Management of Sand Bay should take note as likely they are losing many potential customers, who like me, are currently unable to book online on their website due to this critical software bug being stuck at the Party Details step before Payment. Above all, the management should take a close look at how their personnel at Reception in handling customer queries as I was quite put-off by their blunt and unfriendly response and not properly follow-up on dealing with a significant IT issue for your company that could lose them a significant amount of income as a result.

It resembled an old folks home so if you are not in your twilight years avoid this place.
We bought the holiday from our neighbours not quite expecting this.

We were given a room at the arse end of the complex a tiny room with no window. I suspect at one time it was a single and they shoved a double in.
A prison cell is bigger and in the UK it is illegal to rent a room without a window. Leaving the toilet door open to show a pokey window does not count.
We complained and were given a room with 2 single beds but the room had not been cleaned.
There was tea and coffee making facilities but no milk as that had to be purchased at reception for 10p a sachet.
No room cleaning unless you are there for over a week and ours needed hoovering after a couple of days.
Food was dire. I sat on the loo for 2 hours after the fish and chips. As for pudding, there was barely any left as it had not been replenished.
Food was canteen style so we had to supplement courtesy of Lidl.
The breakfasts were good can't fault that as was the roast dinner.
The place was shoddy and tired and very cheaply done.
One thing I dreaded was the all you can eat feeding frenzy and queuing. There was enough food for all, enough seating and putting coats on chairs including the Club is silly.
Setting near the beach was great and Weston is lovely. £2 on the bus to the front and a cafe and ice-cream parlour minutes away.
Would I go there again NO. We have not got to that age yet for another 20 years.
FYI £5 a pint and the wine in your room is not complimentary as I noticed £14 on the invoice. Should have saved it for my chips!

Never returning

Never returning
Feb 2025 • Friends
First impressions were, Ann was the worst receptionist we've ever meet, was rude, stand off ish, Very disappointing.
She needs to be totally retrained or retire. Obviously does not enjoy her job.
Run down and worn out everywhere needs a full refit.
Rooms were clean, however very cold as heating was on a timer and not able to regulate, took over 24 hours for maintenance to address issue.
Had to keep coats on to stay warm.
The food canteen was basic, poor quality. more choices and higher standards in a prison.
And again staff were not accommodating, tutted when asking for help. They also argued amongst themselves in front of customers.
Bar staff were the most profession and friendly.
Not able to get a hot drink after dinner, bar didn't serve any.
Blue coats average, entertainment nothing special, social club singers.
Will not be returning, it was Faulty Towers meets Karen Diner, Will not be recommending,
Manger really does need to address these issues.

Pontins sand bay- now bear in mind it…

Pontins sand bay- now bear in mind it was a sun holiday which still cost 230.00 and we wasn’t expecting much however we stayed for 4 nights and from the minute we walked into our room I was horrified. We had a tiny room with 2 single beds (I was expecting a double bed) so we had to push them together! And a bathroom. The room was filthy, covered in cobwebs and the bathroom was worse. Clearly not cleaned as we still had the previous guests nipple cover and manky hair band on our bathroom window. The mattresses were pure spring and gross. The tv- so old it wouldn’t even take my Amazon stick. There was a wardrobe which we didn’t use anyway as filthy but it had 1 coat hanger in it! Really helpful. We ended up living out our suitcase. I’m sorry but regardless of wether it was luxury or not a simple bit of cleaning wouldn’t have hurt, considering we couldn’t have access until 4pm! I paid for half board but the restaurant (more like a canteen was nasty) so ended up eating out every night as not even a fridge in our room…nothing open around the site. It was the worst holiday I have ever been on. We didn’t know what we were walking into as trying to get info from your booking is impossible on the website. Avoid at all costs!

The most vile experience ever

This place was the dirtiest, most vile experience I have ever expirenceded. No wonder it was shut down. There should be a health warning on every door! We got there and when we got to our door, not only were there about three hundred million cigarettes outside of our door, but it was the most filthy door you would ever see in your whole life. When we got in, we were revolted by the dirty sheets and mattresses (one which had a poo stain on). We were utterly shocked to find out that we had been given a 1980s television. We then went to the customer service desk which we did need to wait about 15 minutes in line because I’m sure everyone else will have had the same experience as us. What makes things even worse, is that once we had picked up the sheets, we saw a family of three watching a brand new television that must have been released very recently. By the next morning, everyone was begging to go home. I think this is an absolute disgrace and even though this was about 6 years ago, it was a horrible experience and I am so, so, so glad it has shut down

Rude staff and dirty rooms

The staff were horrible to my child, my 6 year old daughter and 9 year old son coming up to me bawling there eyes out as the told that not one but 2 staff members shouted and swore at the both for sitting at a table on their own. I personally think that’s very offensive and disrespectful to me and my family. But that’s not all, when we finally got to our chalet after a 20 minute queue in the car getting the keys, we walked in to find a cabinet door hanging from the kitchen, cockroaches in the bath, springs coming out of the beds, mould everywhere and uncleaned bedsheets and mattresses. I suggest calling the critics because I don’t think they’d appreciate it either in my opinion. I hope all of these silly pontins get shut down and are never to be re opened. Such a disgrace.

PAKEFIELD STAY

Arrived in reception to massive queues, when we eventually got to our chalet our jaws dropped. The smoke alarm had fallen off the ceiling, the wall behind the fridge was covered in black mould and mould spores, the bathroom had a twofoot long piece of USED toilet paper on the floor at the side of the toilet, pretty disgusting.went to reception and they sent someone over to fix the smoke alarm and clean all the mould off the walls.went to the restaurant which had massive queues, took 20 minutes to get something to eat which was too cold to eat,no cups at the coffee machine, another wait! The evening entertainment was good throuout our stay if you didn't mind 15 minute queuing for the bar.went back then for the night to beds that were honestly the most uncomfortable beds I've ever played on, the mattresses were stained and you could feel the springs poking through. After a very poor night's sleep we went to breakfast, again massive queues and the food was almost cold. The whole place is past its sellby date, it needs a total refurbishment from top to bottom.the staff on the whole were pleasant and hard working but short on numbers.to sum up they shouldn't put paying customes in dangerous unhealthy damp ridden rooms, we certainly wouldn't advise anyone to go there until the whole place has an entire refurbishment!!
